소규모지역에서 3차원 정사사진 구현을 위한 GPS와 EDM의 적용 (Application of the GPS & EDM System for 3D Orthophoto in Small Area)

  • GPS 측량은 Multi-path 오차가 발생하기 때문에 도심 지역이나 숲이 있는 항공사진에서는 지상기준점을 잡기위해 GPS측량이 어렵다. 본 논문은 소규모 지역에서 3차원 정사사진 구현을 위한 GPS와 EDM의 적용에 관한 연구이다. 삼각점에서 연구대상지역에 대한 기준점을 내린 다음 EDM으로 정밀삼각측량으로 지상기준점을 선정하였다. 그리고 항공사진을 정사투영사진으로 변환하기위해 획득된 지상기준점을 적용하였다. 그리고 연구대상지역에 대하여 항공정사사진을 이용한 3차원 모델링을 구현하여 향후 추진될 3차원 GIS 구축을 위한 항공사진의 활용방안에 대해서 연구 하였다. Multi-path 오차로 기인하는 GPS수신이 어려운 지점을 EDM을 이용하여 영상에서 균등히 분포된 지상기준점의 획득이 가능하였고 3차원 공간정보 자료구축에서 가장 기본이 되는 소규모 지역에서 항공사진의 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

NETWORK-ADAPTIVE ERROR CONTROL FOR VIDEO STREAMING OVER WIRELESS MULTI-HOP NETWORKS

  • Multi-hop wireless mesh networks (WMNs) suffer from significant packet losses due to insufficient available bandwidth and high channel error probability. To conquer packet losses, end-to-end (E2E) error control schemes have been proposed. However, in WMNs, E2E error control schemes are not effective in adapting to the time-varying network condition due to large delay. Thus, in this paper, we propose a network-adaptive error control for video streaming over WMNs that flexibly operates E2E and hop-by-hop (HbH) error control according to network condition. Moreover, to provide lightweight support at intermediate nodes for HbH error control, we use path-partition-based adaptation. To verify the proposed scheme, we implement it and evaluate its transport performance through MPEG-2 video streaming over a real IEEE 802.11a-based WMN testbed.

A Modified Delay and Doppler Profiler based ICI Canceling OFDM Receiver for Underwater Multi-path Doppler Channel

  • An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based wireless communication system has drawn wide attention for its high transmission rate and high spectrum efficiency in not only radio but also Underwater Acoustic (UWA) applications. Because of the narrow sub-carrier spacing of OFDM, orthogonality between sub-carriers is easily affected by Doppler effect caused by the movement of transmitter or receiver. Previously, Doppler compensation signal processing algorithm for Desired propagation path was proposed. However, other Doppler shifts caused by delayed Undesired signal arriving from different directions cannot be perfectly compensated. Then Receiver Bit Error Rate (BER) is degraded by Inter-Carrier-Interference (ICI) caused in the case of Multi-path Doppler channel. To mitigate the ICI effect, a modified Delay and Doppler Profiler (mDDP), which estimates not only attenuation, relative delay and Doppler shift but also sampling clock shift of each multi-path component, is proposed. Based on the outputs of mDDP, an ICI canceling multi-tap equalizer is also proposed. Computer simulated performances of one-tap equalizer with the conventional Time domain linear interpolated Channel Transfer Function (CTF) estimator, multi-tap equalizer based on mDDP are compared. According to the simulation results, BER improvement has been observed. Especially, in the condition of 16QAM modulation, transmitting vessel speed of 6m/s, two-path multipath channel with direct path and ocean surface reflection path; more than one order of magnitude BER reduction has been observed at CNR=30dB.

습식 다회선 초음파유량계의 특성평가 연구 (A Study on Performance Characteristics of Wetted-type Multi Path Ultrasonic Flowmeter)

  • An experimental investigation has been carried out in order to evaluate characteristics of wetted-type multi-path ultrasonic flowmeters. The multi-path ultrasonic flowmeters were installed at various entrance and exit locations for several cases of pipe fitting(straight, $90^{\circ}$ double elbow) and valve(gate valve, butterfly valve). We measured the flow-rate at each location. The measurement data of test flowmeter were compared with the measured data of reference flowmeter. The uncertainties of reference flowmeter and test flowmeter are 0.3 %, 0.4 %, respectively. The results demonstrate the effects of flowmeter location as well as the measurement errors in flow rate. The distance between the flow disturbance factor and a flowmeter was an important element of the test.

  • In this paper, a localization error recoverymethod based on bias estimation is provided for outdoor localization of mobile robot using different-type sensors. In the previous data integration method with DGPS, it is difficult to localize mobile robot due to multi-path phenomena of DGPS. In this paper, fault data due to multi-path phenomena can be recovered by bias estimation. The proposed data integration method uses a Kalman filter based estimator taking into account a bias estimator and a free-bias estimator. A performance evaluation is shown through an outdoor experiment using mobile robot.

  • The way which estimates a position from Navigation is Dead-reckoning Navigation and Radio Navigation. Generally dead-reckoning navigation uses Gyro and odometer as sensor, but these have problems which are an integrating noise and a noise-sensitivity. Gps which is used by radio-navigation has a Troposthetic error and MultiPath ewer and so on. For minimizing a Troposthetic error and a Multipath error, this paper suggests to an algorithm which use vanishing point on CCD camera.

원근문제와 나카가미 페이딩을 고려한 하이브리드 DS/FH-CDMA 방식의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Hybrid DS/FH-CDMA over Nakagami Fading Channels with Near-Far Problem)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 채널 환경에서 원큰문제와 다중경로 페이딩에 의한 부호분할 다원접속(DS/FH CDMA) 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 고려되는 부호분할 다원접속 시스댐은 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 최대비 합성 다이버시티 수신법과 BCH(Bose-Chau dhuri-Hocquenghem) 부호화 기법을 사용하였다. 유도한 오율식을 이용하여 부호분할 다원접속 시스댐의 성능을 구하여, PN 코드 길이(N). 호핑수(q) 다중 사용자의 수(J(). 다이 버시티 가지의 수(M). 부호화 율($\gamma$) 그리고 비트에너지 대 잡음전력비($E_b/N_o$)등을 함수로 하여 그래프로 나타내 고 분석하였다. 분석결과에 의하면 원근문제와 다중경로 페이딩의 영향을 억압하기 위해서는 DS 방식보다도 DS/FH 방식이 효율적임을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, MRC 다이버시티 기법이나 BCH 부호화 기법을 채용함으로써 큰 폭의 성능 개선을 얻을 수 있었다. 결과적으로 제안된 시스템의 구조는 원근문제와 페이딩이 존재하는 채덜에 서 음성 통신시스템으로서 적절하다고 예상된다.

해상 다중경로 페이딩 극복을 위한 선박중심 직접통신(MX-S2X) 물리계층 설계 및 성능 분석 (Design of Physical Layer and Performance Analysis for MX-S2X, Ship Centric Direct Communication with the Mitigation of Multi-path Fading on Sea Environment)

  • 본 논문은 자율운항 및 무인 기능이 요구되는 새로운 선박 안전 패러다임에 대응하여 선박중심 직접통신이라는 용어 정의 및 중요성을 제시하고, 고 주파수 기반의 광대역 통신기술을 활용하는 MX-S2X 통신 개념을 정의한다. 초고속 통신 기술의 해상 적용 시 극복해야 하는 해상 다중경로 페이딩을 고려한 MX-S2X 물리계층에 대한 설계 내용과 모의시험을 통한 검증 결과를 제시한다. 설계한 MX-S2X 통신의 물리계층은 충분한 세기의 신호가 수신됨에도 다중경로 페이딩의 영향에 따른 Error-floor 발생 극복을 목표로 설계하였다. 이를 입증하기 위하여 실제 해상 통신환경에 대한 채널 모델을 적용하여 물리계층에 대한 성능분석을 수행하였다. MX-S2X 물리계층의 성능 분석 결과 VDE 물리계층에서 관측되었던 BER Error-floor가 극복되고 AWGN 채널 대비 SNR 2dB 열화 범위 내에서 동작하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 근거리 해상통신 환경인 근거리 선박중심 직접통신에 적합한 성능을 보이며 추후 자율운항선박, 무인선 및 군집 선박 등의 직접통신에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

주파수 선택성 페이딩 채널에서 동일채널 간섭신호가 존재하는 경우 VSB 신호의 오율 분석 (An analysis of error probabilities for VSB signals in the presence of cochannel interference on the frequency selective fading channel)

  • In this paper, a new technique is proposed for obtaining the error probabilities of the VSB(vestigial sideband modulation) signal in the presence of the cochannel interference and frequency-selective fading channel. For the receivers, a suboptimal matched filter receiver and the MLSE(maximum likelihood sequence estimation) receiver, which is known to be optimal on the fading channel, are considered. First, for the matched filter receiver, the distributions of the random variables, which determine the SER(symbol error rate) are obtained by decomposing the multi-path fading channel into Rayleigh distributed main path and Gaussian distributed remained path channels. the random variables mean the energy of the main path and subpath respecitively, and SER can be calculated from the distribution of them. Next, for the case of the MLSE receover, it is found that the random variables are expressed as a function of integrals. In order to obtain the distribution for the random variables, we expanded each element of integrals with the KL(Karhunen-Loeve) transformation. And it is derived that the distributions for the transformed random variables are given by a sum of chi-square distributions. Finally, we calculated the error rate derived formula on the two-ray fading channel, which is one of widely used models for the frequency-selective fading channel. From the numerical results, it is found that for the matched filer receiver, performance degradation is significant, while the performance degradation at the MLSE receiver is insignificant on the frequency-selective fading channel. However, in case of cochannel interference environment, the error rateis found to increase significantly both at the matched filter and at the MLSE receiver.

An Advanced RFID Localization Algorithm Based on Region Division and Error Compensation

  • In RSSI-based RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) indoor localization system, the signal path loss model of each sub-region is different from others in the whole localization area due to the influence of the multi-path phenomenon and other environmental factors. Therefore, this paper divides the localization area into many sub-regions and constructs separately the signal path loss model of each sub-region. Then an improved LANDMARC method is proposed. Firstly, the deployment principle of RFID readers and tags is presented for constructing localization sub-region. Secondly, the virtual reference tags are introduced to create a virtual signal strength space with RFID readers and real reference tags in every sub-region. Lastly, k nearest neighbor (KNN) algorithm is used to locate the target object and an error compensating algorithm is proposed for correcting localization result. The results in real application show that the new method enhances the positioning accuracy to 18.2% and reduces the time cost to 30% of the original LANDMARC method without additional tags and readers.
