다이아몬드 터닝머신에서 다중점 B 축 제어 가공법을 통한 표면거칠기 향상 (Improvement in Surface Roughness by Multi Point B Axis Control Method in Diamond Turning Machine)

  • This paper details a new ultra-precise turning method for increasing surface quality, "Multi Point B Axis Control Method." Machined surface error is minimized by the compensation machining process, but the process leaves residual chip marks and surface roughness. This phenomenon is unavoidable in the diamond turning process using existing machining methods. However, Multi Point B axis control uses a small angle (< $1^{\circ}$) for the unused diamond edge for generation of ultra-fine surfaces; no machining chipping occurs. It is achieved by compensated surface profiling via alignment of the tool radial center on the center of the B axis rotation table. Experimental results show that a diamond turned surface using the Multi Point B axis control method achieved P-V $0.1{\mu}m$ and Ra 1.1nm and these ultra-fine surface qualities are reproducible.

  • A semiconductor production system has sophisticated manufacturing operations and needs high capital investment for its expensive equipment, which warrants efficient real-time flow control for wafers. In the bay, we consider material handling equipment that can handle multiple carriers of wafers. The dispatching logic first determines the transportation time of each carrier to its destination by each unit of transportation equipment and uses this information to determine the destination machine and target carrier. When there is no available buffer space at the machine tool, the logic allows carriers to stay at the buffer of a machine tool and determine the delay time, which is used to determine the destination of carriers in URL. A simulation study shows this dispatching logic performs better than the procedure currently in use to reduce the mean flow time and average WIP of wafers and increase efficiency of material handling equipment.

  • Study results in the last decades show that amount and quality of physical exercises, then the active participation, and now the cognitive involvement of patient in rehabilitation training are known of crux to enhance recovery outcome of motor dysfunction patients after stroke. Rehabilitation robots mainly have been developing along this direction to satisfy requirements of recovery therapy, or focusing on one or more of the above three points. Therefore, neuro-machine interaction based active rehabilitation robot has been proposed for assisting paralyzed limb performing designed tasks, which utilizes motor related EEG, UCSDI (Ultrasound Current Source Density Imaging), EMG for rehabilitation robot control and feeds back the multi-sensory interaction information such as visual, auditory, force, haptic sensation to the patient simultaneously. This neuro-controlled and perceptual rehabilitation robot will bring great benefits to post-stroke patients. In order to develop such kind of robot, some key technologies such as noninvasive precise detection of neural signal and realistic sensation feedback need to be solved. There are still some grand challenges in solving the fundamental questions to develop and optimize such kind of neuro-machine interaction based active rehabilitation robot.

  • The modern CNC machine require increasingly an exact monitoring and control of cutting process. They are to make final taret which construct full automation factories as unmanned system. In this study, we decided that we develop new techique to monitor and detect tool breakage on the machining operation using face milling machine with multi-point throwaway tips. The technology in which the tool is illuminated by an beam of Laser is used by image of tool fracture through CCD camera.

  • Recently, research has been actively conducted to overcome the limitations of high-priced single sensors and reduce costs through the convergence of low-cost multi-variable sensors. This paper estimates state variables through asynchronous Kalman filters constructed using CVXPY and uses Cvxpylayers to compare and learn state variables estimated from CVXPY with true value data to estimate filter parameters of low-cost sensors fusion.

Efficient Hybrid Transactional Memory Scheme using Near-optimal Retry Computation and Sophisticated Memory Management in Multi-core Environment

  • Recently, hybrid transactional memory (HyTM) has gained much interest from researchers because it combines the advantages of hardware transactional memory (HTM) and software transactional memory (STM). To provide the concurrency control of transactions, the existing HyTM-based studies use a bloom filter. However, they fail to overcome the typical false positive errors of a bloom filter. Though the existing studies use a global lock, the efficiency of global lock-based memory allocation is significantly low in multi-core environment. In this paper, we propose an efficient hybrid transactional memory scheme using near-optimal retry computation and sophisticated memory management in order to efficiently process transactions in multi-core environment. First, we propose a near-optimal retry computation algorithm that provides an efficient HTM configuration using machine learning algorithms, according to the characteristic of a given workload. Second, we provide an efficient concurrency control for transactions in different environments by using a sophisticated bloom filter. Third, we propose a memory management scheme being optimized for the CPU cache line, in order to provide a fast transaction processing. Finally, it is shown from our performance evaluation that our HyTM scheme achieves up to 2.5 times better performance by using the Stanford transactional applications for multi-processing (STAMP) benchmarks than the state-of-the-art algorithms.

MRAS Based Sensorless Control of a Series-Connected Five-Phase Two-Motor Drive System

  • Multi-phase machines can be used in variable speed drives. Their applications include electric ship propulsion, 'more-electric aircraft' and traction applications, electric vehicles, and hybrid electric vehicles. Multi-phase machines enable independent control of a few numbers of machines that are connected in series in a particular manner with their supply being fed from a single voltage source inverter(VSI). The idea was first implemented for a five-phase series-connected two-motor drive system, but is now applicable to any number of phases more than or equal to five-phase. The number of series-connected machines is a function of the phase number of VSI. Theoretical and simulation studies have already been reported for number of multi-phase multi-motor drive configurations of series-connection type. Variable speed induction motor drives without mechanical speed sensors at the motor shaft have the attractions of low cost and high reliability. To replace the sensor, information concerning the rotor speed is extracted from measured stator currents and voltages at motor terminals. Open-loop estimators or closed-loop observers are used for this purpose. They differ with respect to accuracy, robustness, and sensitivity against model parameter variations. This paper analyses operation of an MRAS estimator based sensorless control of a vector controlled series-connected two-motor five-phase drive system with current control in the stationary reference frame. Results, obtained with fixed-voltage, fixed-frequency supply, and hysteresis current control are presented for various operating conditions on the basis of simulation results. The purpose of this paper is to report the first ever simulation results on a sensorless control of a five-phase two-motor series-connected drive system. The operating principle is given followed by a description of the sensorless technique.

다성분 혼합연료를 이용한 디젤 분무 및 연소특성의 광계측 진단 (Laser Diagnostics of Spray and Combustion Characteristics Using Multi-Component Mixed Fuels in a D.I. Diesel Engine)

  • This study was to analyze the effect of mixed fuel composition and mass fraction on the characteristics of evaporating diesel spray and combustion under the various ambient conditions. The characteristics of vaporization distribution and combustion were visualized by laser induced fluorescent method and direct photography. The experiments were conducted in the constant volume vessel and rapid compression expansion machine with optical access. Multi-component fuels mixed i-octane, n-dodecane and n-hexadecane were injected the vessel and rapid compression expansion machine with electronically controlled common rail injector. Experimental results show that fuel vapor formed stratified distribution. And vaporization and diffusion are become actively increasing in mass fraction of low boiling point component. Consequently multi-component fuels were expected to control the evaporating behavior according to their suitable mass fraction.

다상 영구자석 동기 전동기의 자기 및 상호 인덕턴스 계산 (Calculation of Self and Mutual Inductances in Multi-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)

  • 다상 전동기는 기존의 3상 전동기와 비교하여 높은 신뢰성과 성능의 이점 때문에 고 신뢰성을 요하는 전장과 특수기기 분야에서 많은 관심을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다상 전동기들 중 5상 영구자석 동기 전동기를 이용하여 전동기 제어의 주요 변수인 자기 인덕턴스와 상호 인덕턴스를 수식을 통한 추정 방법을 다룬다. 최근 대부분의 고효율 구동 전동기들은 FOC(Field Orinted Control)와 DTC(Direct Torque Control) 제어를 이용하므로 전압 방정식에서 가장 중요한 인덕턴스를 정확하게 추정하는 것이 중요하다. 인덕턴스를 수식적으로 계산하기 위해서 본 연구에서는 WFT(Winding Function Theory)를 적용하였다. 계산된 인덕턴스의 결과 값의 타당성 유무를 확인하기 위하여 유한요소해석과 비교 하였으며 약 3%의 편차를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 최종적으로 WFT를 이용하여 계산된 인덕턴스를 FOC와 DTC 제어에 필요한 값인 d축과 q축 인덕턴스로 변환하는 과정을 소개한다.

  • The intent of this paper is to describe a neural network structure called multi dynamic neural network(MDNN), and examine how it can be used in developing a learning scheme for computing robot inverse kinematic transformations. The architecture and learning algorithm of the proposed dynamic neural network structure, the MDNN, are described. Computer simulations are demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed learning using the MDNN.
