For smart mobile devices, the wireless communication module is one of the hardware modules that consume the most energy. If we can build a multi-channel multi-interface environment using heterogeneous communication modules and operate them dynamically, data transmission performance can be highly improved by increasing the parallelism. Also, because these heterogeneous modules have different data rates, transmission ranges, and power consumption, we can save energy by exploiting a power efficient and low speed wireless interface module to transmit/receive sporadic small data. In this paper, we propose a power efficient data transmission method using heterogeneous communication networks. We also compared the performance of our proposed scheme to a conventional scheme, and proved that our proposed scheme can save energy while guaranteeing reasonable data delivery time.

In network based on multi-interface, there are needed channel assignment strategy that reduce interference and improve bandwidth efficiency by assigning each interface to available channels in order to utilize effectively multiple wireless interfaces on each node. MCS protocol had been proposed, which improve capacity and throughput of network by using hybrid assignment. MCS uses as the criterion to assign channel the number of node that use the same channel in contention area. but there have an problem that this information exactly does not reflect actually offered channel load. in this paper, we proposes CAMCS protocol to assign channel by that the channel busy degree to indicate the occupancy rate of channel by nodes as well as the number of nodes that use the same channel in inference area is used as criterion for estimation channel load, and conform performance improvement effect by simulation.
In this paper, an analytical framework is proposed for the optimization of network performance through joint congestion control, channel allocation, rate allocation, power control, scheduling, and routing with the consideration of fairness in multi-channel wireless multihop networks. More specifically, the framework models the network by a generalized network utility maximization (NUM) problem under an elastic link data rate and power constraints. Using the dual decomposition technique, the NUM problem is decomposed into four subproblems - flow control; next-hop routing; rate allocation and scheduling; power control; and channel allocation - and finally solved by a low-complexity distributed method. Simulation results show that the proposed distributed algorithm significantly improves the network throughput and energy efficiency compared with previous algorithms.

Wireless mesh networks have emerged as a key technology in environment that needs wireless multi-hop communication without infrastructure and IEEE 802.11s mesh network standard have currently been established. One of big differences between this standard and the legacy IEEE 802.11 is that MCCA MAC is included to support QoS. MCCA supports bandwidth reservations between neighbors, so it can satisfy the QoS of bandwidth guarantee. However, MCCA has dis-advantages as follow; 1) it can not guarantee end-to-end bandwidth, 2) in multi-interface multi-channel wireless environments, the IEEE 802.11s does not provide a bandwidth reservation protocol and a wireless channel assignment etc. In this paper, we have proposed MIMC R-HWMP, which expands R-HWMP that was proposed in our previous work[3], to support multi-interface multi-channel. By simulation, we showed end-to-end bandwidth guarantee and the increase in the available bandwidth in multi-interface multi-channel wireless mesh networks.

In this paper, the multi-channel high speed data acquisition system is implemented. This high speed signal processing system for 3-D image display is applicable to the manipulation of a medical image processing, multimedia data and various fields of digital image processing. In order to convert the analog signal into digital one, A/D conversion circuit is designed. PCI interface method is designed and implemented, which is capable of transmission a large amount of data to computer. In order to, especially, channel extendibility of images acquisition, bus communication method is selected. By using this bus method, we can interface each module effectively. In this paper, 32-channel A/D conversion and PCI interface system for 3-dimensional and real-time display of the retina image is developed. The 32-channel image acquisition system and high speed data transmission system developed in this paper is applicable to not only medical image processing as 3-D representation of retina image but also various fields of industrial image processing in which the multi-point realtime image acquisition system is needed.

In multi-hop wireless network, multi-channel makes it possible to enhance network performance because it reduces channel interferences md contentions. Recently several schemes have been proposed in the literatures to use multi-channel. Especially, MCR(Multi channel routing protocol), which utilize hybrid interface assignment, is a prominent routing protocol. MCR uses simple way to change channel but efficiently reduce channel interferences. In this paper, we propose a load-aware channel selection algorithm called LCS that enhances the channel switching algerian used in MCR protocol. In LCS, channel of a node is assigned based on collected information about queue length of neighbors. Moreover this paper evaluates the performance of in by using simulation test and testbed demonstration. Test results show that the MCR with LCS outperforms the naive MCR.

In this paper, we propose a new MAC protocol, namely DM-MMAC (Doze Mode Multi-Channel MAC) for ad hoe wireless networks which can utilize multiple channels effectively, thereby enhancing the network throughput considerably. Basically, the IEEE 802.11 specification allows for the use of multiple channels available at the physical layer, but its MAC protocol is designed only for a single channel with the fatal drawback, so called multi-channel hidden terminal problem in multi-channel environments. In this vein, several multi-channel MAC protocols have been proposed, but most of them demonstrate the performance problem that its throughput drastically decreases as the number of mobile hosts residing in a given network increases with small number of available channels. In this work, we tried to improve the performance of multi-channel MAC protocols in terms of network throughput as well as power saving effects by simplifying the channel assignment and channel capturing procedures and reducing the possibility of collisions between mobile hosts.
This paper deals with a resource efficient artificial intelligence (AI) service architecture for multi-channel video streams. As an AI service, we consider the object detection model, which is the most representative for video applications. Since most object detection models are basically designed for a single channel video stream, the utilization of the additional resource for multi-channel video stream processing is inevitable. Therefore, we propose a resource efficient AI service framework, which can be associated with various AI service models. Our framework is designed based on the modular architecture, which consists of adaptive frame control (AFC) Manager, multiplexer (MUX), adaptive channel selector (ACS), and YOLO interface units. In order to run only a single YOLO process without regard to the number of channels, we propose a novel approach efficiently dealing with multi-channel input streams. Through the experiment, it is shown that the framework is capable of performing object detection service with minimum resource utilization even in the circumstance of multi-channel streams. In addition, each service can be guaranteed within a deadline.
Cold-junction correction(CJC) and disconnection detection circuit design of various thermocouples(TC) and multi-channel TC interface circuit using them were designed. The CJC and disconnection detection circuit consists of a CJC semiconductor device, an instrumentation amplifier(IA), two resistors and a diode for disconnection detection. Based on the basic circuit, a multi-channel interface circuit was also implemented. The CJC was implemented using compensation semiconductor and IA, and disconnection detection was detected by using two resistor and a diode so that IA input voltage became -0.42V. As a result of the experiment using R-type TC, the error of the designed circuit was reduced from 0.14mV to 3㎶ after CJC in the temperature range of 0℃ to 1400℃. In addition, it was confirmed that the output voltage of IA was saturated from 88mV to -14.2V when TC was disconnected from normal. The output voltage of the designed circuit was 0V to 10V in the temperature range of 0℃ to 1400℃. The results of the 4-channel interface experiment using R-type TC were almost identical to the CJC and disconnection detection results for each channel. The implemented multi-channel interface has a feature that can be applied equally to E, J, K, T, R, and S-type TCs by changing the terminals of CJC semiconductor devices and adjusting the IA gain.

Spurred by the advent of ITS and WAVE (Wireless access in vehicular environments) as well as the wide-spread use of smart phones, WMN technology is considered to be a promising technology for extending the Internet access coverage supported by the IEEE802.11 based access points. In this paper, we propose a new MAC protocol which can efficiently utilize the multi-interface multi-channel communication capabilities supposedly equipped in most mesh routers, thereby increasing the network throughput considerably. We also verified its performance through computer simulations.
