과학기술용어(科學技術用語) 시소러스 대역(對譯) 데이터베이스 구축(構築) (A Study on Multi-Lingual Thesaurus Database Construction of Scientific and Technical Terms)

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 한글 과학기술용어(科學技術用語)의 표준화(標準化)를 위한 기초자료를 마련하여 국내(國內) 과학기술(科學技術) 데이터베이스의 제작을 촉진하고, 또한 한글 전문용어(專門用語)와 이에 대응하는 영어(英語) 용어(用語) 및 일어(日語) 용어(用語)를 안내해 줌으로써 해외(海外) 데이터베이스 검색시(檢索時)에 편리한 검색(檢索) 툴로서 활용하는 데 목적(目的)이 있다. 과학기술분야(科學技術分野)에서 사용되고 있는 전문용어(專門用語)의 한글 용어, 영어(英語) 용어, 일어(日語) 용어 시소러스에 대한 대역(對譯) 데이터베이스를 구축한 것이다. 시소러스의 이론적인 배경을 고찰하였으며, 과학기술분야(科學技術分野) 전문용어(專門用語)의 수집은 일본과학기술정보(日本科學技術情報)센터가 1987년에 발행한 $\ulcorner$과학기술용어(科學技術用語) 시소러스 영일(英日) 리스트$\lrcorner$$\ulcorner$과학기술용어(科學技術用語) 시소러스 일영(日英) 리스트$\lrcorner$를 근거자료로 하여 일어(日語) 용어(用語) 및 영어(英語) 용어(用語)에 1 대(對) 1로 대응하는 한글 용어로 번역(飜譯)하였다. 과학기술용어(科學技術用語) 시소러스 대역(對譯) 데이터베이스에 수록된 한글 디스크립터는 38,318 용어, 한글 비디스크립터는 2,870용어, 영어(英語) 디스크립터는 38,318 용어, 영어(英語) 비디스크립터는 11,910 용어, 일어(日語) 디스크립터는 38,318 용어, 일어(日語) 디스크립터는 9,789 용어이다.

  • A dynamic fatigue characteristic of dental implant system has been evaluated with applying single axial compressive shear loading based on the ISO 14801 standard. For the advanced dynamic fatigue test, multi-directional force and motion needed to be accompanied for more information of mechanical properties as based on mastication in oral environment. In this study, we have prepared loading and motion protocol for the multi-directional fatigue test of dental implant system with single (Apical/Occlusal; AO), and additional mastication motion (Lingual/Facial; LF, Mesial/Distal; MD). As following the prepared protocol (with modification of ISO 14801), fatigue test was conducted to verify the worst case results for the development of highly stabilized dental implant system. Mechanical testing was performed using an universal testing machine (MTS Bionix 858, MN, USA) for static compression and single directional loading fatigue, while the multi-directional loading was performed with joint simulator (ADL-Force 5, MA, USA) under load control. Basically, all mechanical test was performed according to the ISO 14801:2016 standard. Static compression test was performed to identify the maximum fracture force with loading speed of 1.0 mm/min. A dynamic fatigue test was performed with 40 % value of maximum fracture force and 5 Hz loading frequency. A single directional fatigue test was performed with only apical/occlusal (AO) force application, while multi directional fatigue tests were applied $2^{\circ}$ of facial/lingual (FL) or mesial/distal (MD) movement. Fatigue failure cycles were entirely different between applying single-directional loading and multi-directional loading. As a comparison of these loading factor, the failure cycle was around 5 times lower than single-directional loading while applied multi-directional loading. Also, the displacement change with accumulated multi-directional fatigue cycles was higher than that of single directional cycles.

A Method of Chinese and Thai Cross-Lingual Query Expansion Based on Comparable Corpus

  • Cross-lingual query expansion is usually based on the relationship among monolingual words. Bilingual comparable corpus contains relationships among bilingual words. Therefore, this paper proposes a method based on these relationships to conduct query expansion. First, the word vectors which characterize the bilingual words are trained using Chinese and Thai bilingual comparable corpus. Then, the correlation between Chinese query words and Thai words are computed based on these word vectors, followed with selecting the Thai candidate expansion terms via the correlative value. Then, multi-group Thai query expansion sentences are built by the Thai candidate expansion words based on Chinese query sentence. Finally, we can get the optimal sentence using the Chinese and Thai query expansion method, and perform the Thai query expansion. Experiment results show that the cross-lingual query expansion method we proposed can effectively improve the accuracy of Chinese and Thai cross-language information retrieval.

Low-shrinking composites. Are they reliable for bonding orthodontic retainers?

  • Objective: To evaluate the shear bond strength (SBS), fracture mode, wire pull out (WPO) resistance and microleakage between low-shrinking and conventional composites used as a lingual retainer adhesive. Methods: A total of 120 human mandibular incisor teeth, extracted for periodontal reasons, were collected. Sixty of them were separated into two groups. To determine the SBS, either Transbond-LR (3M-Unitek) or Silorane (3M-Espe) was applied to the lingual surface of the teeth by packing the material into standard cylindrical plastic matrices (Ultradent) to simulate the lingual retainer bonding area. To test WPO resistance, 20 samples were prepared for each composite where the wire was embedded in the composite materialand cured. Then tensile stress was applied until failure of the composite occurred. The remaining 60 teeth were divided into two groups and multi-stranded 0.0215-inch diameter wire was bonded with the same composites. Microleakage was evaluated by the dye penetration method. Statistical analyses were performed by Wilcoxon, Pearson chi-square, and Mann-Whitney-U tests at p < 0.05 level. Results: The SBS and WPO results were not statistically significant between the two groups. Significant differences were found between the groups in terms of fracture mode (p < 0.001). Greater percentages of the fractures showed mix type failure (85%) for Silorane and adhesive (60%) for Transbond-LR. Microleakage values were lower in low-shrinking composite than the control and this difference was found to be statistically significant (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Low-shrinking composite produced sufficient SBS, WPO and microleakage values on the etched enamel surfaces, when used as a lingual retainer composite.

  • This paper is a report on part of the results of a research project entitled "Research and Model Development for a Multi-Lingual Lexical Database". It Is a six-year project in which we aim to construct a model of a multilingual lexical database of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and English. Now we have finished the first two-year stage of the project In this paper, we present the goal of the project, the construction model of items in the lexical database, and the possible (semi-)automatic methods of acquisition of lexical information. As an appendix, we present some sample items of the database as an i1lustration.

  • To compare the marginal leakage of CAD/CAM-fabricated ceramic inlay, gold inlay and amalgam, forty extracted caries-free premolars were prepared with Class II MO cavity design. The teeth were divided into four groups of ten samples each. Group 1 was restored with CAD/CAM-fabricated ceramic inlays cemented with Scotchbond Resin Cement / Scotchbond Multi-purpose plus. Group 2 was restored with gold inlays cemented with Scotchbond Resin Cement / Scotchbond Multi-purpose plus. Group 3 was restored with gold inlays cemented with zinc phosphate cement. And, Group 4 was restored with amalgam. All samples were thermocycled, and stored in 1 % methylene blue. Marginal leakage was examined at four margins, that is, occlusal distal, priximal gingival, occlusal facial and occlusal lingual margins from sectioned samples under stereomicroscope(x15). The results were as follows : 1. Group 1 and 2 showed no statistically significant difference among marginal leakage at all four examined margins(p>0.05). 2. Group 3 and 4 showed significant marginal leakage at proximal gingival margin compared with other margins(p<0.05). 3. Significantly increased marginal leakage at priximal gingival, occlusal facial and occlusal lingual margins in group 3 were observed compared with other groups (p<0.05).

다중 언어에서 다중 활자체 및 다중 크기의 문자 인식을 위한 2계층 분류기 (A Two-Layer Classifier for Recognition of Multi-font and Multi-size Characters in Multi-lingual Documents)

  • 본 논문에서는 2 계층 분류기를 이용하여 일반적인 문서(보고서, 책, 잡지, 워드프로세서에서 출력 된 양식) 내의 다중 크기 및 다중 활자체의 인식을 위한 효과적인 방법을 제안하고 구현하였다. 다중언어 문자를 효과적으로 인식하기 위한 2 계층 분류기를 제안하였는데 이는 폰트 독립적 분류기와 폰트 의존적 분류기로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 방법의 성능 평가를 위하여 사무실에서 많이 사용하는 59 종류의 폰트와 각 폰트 당 3가지 크기의 글꼴과, 스캐너에서 지원되는 3가지 농도의 총 489개의 서로 다른 부류를 갖는 3,593,172 자를 대상으로 학습시킨 뒤에 일반 문서를 가지고 펜티엄 PC 상에서 인식 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 2계층 분류기를 갖는 시스템에서 96-98%의 인식률과 초당40자 이상의 인식 속도를 보여줌으로써 일반적인 문서에서 다중 크기 및 다중 활자체의 문자 인식에 매우 실용적인 가치가 있음을 확인했다.

유한요소모델에서 레버암을 이용한 상악 6전치 설측 견인 시 초기 이동 양상 (The Pattern of Initial Displacement in Lingual Lever Arm Traction of 6 Maxillary Anterior Teeth According to Different Material Properties: 3-D FEA)

  • 최근 치료기간의 단축과 심미성을 동시에 충족시키는 6전치를 설측에서 견인하는 레버암을 이용한 견인방법이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 상악골의 고전적인 2가지 물성으로 구성된 유한 요소 모델 (단순모델)과 새로이 개발된 24가지 물성으로 구성된 모델 (복합모델)을 생성하여 상악 6전치를 후방 견인 시, 각 치아와 치주인대에 나타나는 초기 이동량과 응력분포를 분석하였다. 23세 성인 남자의 CT 촬영으로 얻은 DICOM 영상정보를 3차원 리버스 엔지니어링 컴퓨터영상프로그램 Mimics를 이용하여 상악골 및 상악 전치부의 3차원 입체영상모델로 재구성하여 finite element analysis (FEA) 모델을 완성하였다. 모델은 상악골, 상악 전치부 각 치아의 치주인대, lingual traction arm의 부분으로 구성되었다. 상악 6전치의 저항중심 부위를 지나도록 교합면에 대하여 평행하게 200g의 후방견인력을 적용한 후 나타나는 초기 이동량 및 응력 분포를 3차원 유한 요소법을 이용한 해석을 통해 비교하였다. 실험 결과 24가지 물성으로 구성된 복합모델이 2가지 물성으로 구성된 단순 모델에 비해 상악 중절치에서 보다 후방 이동되는 양상이 크게 나타났으며 수직적인 회전 양상 역시 크게 나타났다. 두 모델 모두 중절치와 측절치는 조절성 경사이동의 형태로 후방이동양이 견치보다 크게 나타났으나 견치는 이동량이 적은 대신 치근의 이동이 더 크게 나타났다. 수직적 이동양상에 있어 두 모델 모두 측절치와 견치의 접촉점을 중심으로 절치는 하방으로 견치는 상방으로 움직이는 회전양상을 나타났다. 응력의 비교에서는 단순 모델과 복합 모델에서 유사한 결과를 보였다. 비록 각기 다른 물성으로 인해 후방 이동량에서는 차이가 나타났으나 기본적인 치아의 이동양상은 두 모델에서 모두 같게 나타났다.

Force changes associated with differential activation of en-masse retraction and/or intrusion with clear aligners

  • Objective: To investigate the three-dimensional forces created by clear aligners on mandibular teeth during differential activation with en-masse retraction and/or intrusion in vitro. Methods: Six sets of clear aligners were designed for differential en-masse retraction and/or intrusion procedures in a first premolar extraction model. Group A0 was a control group with no activation. Groups A1-5 underwent different degrees of retractions and/or intrusions. Each group consisted of 10 aligners. Aligner forces were measured on a multi-axis force/torque transducer measurement system in real-time. Results: In the en-masse retraction groups (A1 and A2), lingual and extrusive forces were observed on the incisors; the canines mainly received distal forces; intrusive forces were seen on the second premolars; and the molars received mesial forces. In the en-masse retraction and intrusion groups (A3, A4, and A5), incisors also received lingual and extrusive forces; canines received distal and intrusive forces; mesial and extrusive forces were seen on the second premolars; and the second molars received distal and intrusive forces. The vertical forces on the incisors did not differ significantly among groups A1, A3, and A5. However, the vertical forces on the second premolars reversed from intrusion in group A1 to extrusion in groups A3 and A5. Conclusions: With clear aligners, the "bowing effect" is seen during en-masse anterior teeth retraction and can be partially relieved by performing en-masse retraction accompanied by anterior teeth intrusion. Vertical control of incisors remained unsolved during en-masse retraction, even when intrusive activation was added to the anterior teeth.

DDC in DSpace: Integration of Multi-lingual Subject Access System in Institutional Digital Repositories

  • The paper discusses the nature of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) and shows how these can support digital library users. It demonstrates processes related to integration of KOS like the Dewey Decimal Classification, $22^{nd}$ edition (DDC22) in DSpace software (http://www.dspace.org/) for organizing and retrieving (browsing and searching) scholarly objects. An attempt has been made to use the DDC22 available in Bengali language and highlights the required mechanisms for system-level integration. It may help a repository administrator to build an IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) integrated with SKOS-enabled multilingual subject access systems for supporting subject descriptors based indexing (DC.Subject metadata element), structured navigation (browsing) and efficient searching.
