Comparison of Outcomes of Multi-Level Anterior, Oblique, Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion Surgery : Impact on Global Sagittal Alignment

  • Objective : To compare the outcomes of anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF), and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) in terms of global sagittal alignment. Methods : From January 2007 to December 2019, 141 adult patients who underwent multilevel interbody fusion for lumbar degenerative disorders were enrolled. Regarding the approach, patients were divided into the ALIF (n=23), OLIF (n=60), and TLIF (n=58) groups. Outcomes, including local radiographic parameters and global sagittal alignment, were then compared between the treatment groups. Results : Regarding local radiographic parameters, ALIF and OLIF were superior to TLIF in terms of the change in the anterior disc height (7.6±4.5 mm vs. 6.9±3.2 mm vs. 4.7±2.9 mm, p<0.001), disc angle (-10.0°±6.3° vs. -9.2°±5.2° vs. -5.1°±5.1°, p<0.001), and fused segment lordosis (-14.5°±11.3° vs. -13.8°±7.5° vs. -7.4°±9.1°, p<0.001). However, regarding global sagittal alignment, postoperative lumbar lordosis (-42.5°±9.6° vs. -44.4°±11.6° vs. -40.6°±12.3°, p=0.210), pelvic incidence-lumbar lordosis mismatch (7.9°±11.3° vs. 6.7°±11.6° vs. 11.5°±13.0°, p=0.089), and the sagittal vertical axis (24.3±28.5 mm vs. 24.5±34.0 mm vs. 25.2±36.6 mm, p=0.990) did not differ between the groups. Conclusion : Although the anterior approaches were superior in terms of local radiographic parameters, TLIF achieved adequate global sagittal alignment, comparable to the anterior approaches.

머신러닝 알고리즘 기반 반도체 자동화를 위한 이송로봇 고장진단에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Failure Diagnosis of Transfer Robot for Semiconductor Automation Based on Machine Learning Algorithm)

  • In manufacturing and semiconductor industries, transfer robots increase productivity through accurate and continuous work. Due to the nature of the semiconductor process, there are environments where humans cannot intervene to maintain internal temperature and humidity in a clean room. So, transport robots take responsibility over humans. In such an environment where the manpower of the process is cutting down, the lack of maintenance and management technology of the machine may adversely affect the production, and that's why it is necessary to develop a technology for the machine failure diagnosis system. Therefore, this paper tries to identify various causes of failure of transport robots that are widely used in semiconductor automation, and the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) method is considered for determining and predicting the process of failures. The robot mainly fails in the driving unit due to long-term repetitive motion, and the core components of the driving unit are motors and gear reducer. A simulation drive unit was manufactured and tested around this component and then applied to 6-axis vertical multi-joint robots used in actual industrial sites. Vibration data was collected for each cause of failure of the robot, and then the collected data was processed through signal processing and frequency analysis. The processed data can determine the fault of the robot by utilizing machine learning algorithms such as SVM (Support Vector Machine) and KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor). As a result, the PHM environment was built based on machine learning algorithms using SVM and KNN, confirming that failure prediction was partially possible.

Radiographic and Clinical Outcomes Following Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy : Minimum 2-Year Follow-Up Data

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to report the results of pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) for fixed sagittal imbalance with a minimum 2-year follow-up. Besides, authors evaluated the effect of adjunctive multi-level posterior column osteotomy (PCO) on achievement of additional lumbar lordosis (LL) during PSO. Methods : A total of 31 consecutive patients undergoing PSO for fixed sagittal imbalance were enrolled and analyzed. Correction angle of osteotomized vertebra (PSO angle) and other radiographic parameters including pelvic incidence (PI), thoracic kyphosis, LL, and sagittal vertical axis (SVA) were evaluated. Clinical outcomes and surgical complications were also assessed. Results : The mean age was 66.0±9.3 years with a mean follow-up period of 33.2±10.5 months. The mean number of fused segments was 9.6±3.5. The mean operative time and surgical bleeding were 475.9±160.5 minutes and 1406.1±932.1 mL, respectively. The preoperative SRS-22 score was 2.3±0.7 and improved to 3.2±0.8 at the final follow-up. The mean PI was 54.5±9.5°. LL was changed from 7.0±28.9° to -50.2±13.2°. The PSO angle was 33.7±13.5° (15.6±20.1° preoperatively, -16.1±19.4° postoperatively). The difference of correction angle of LL (57.3°) was greater about 23.6° than which of PSO angle (33.7°). SVA was improved from 189.5±93.0 mm, preoperatively to 12.4±40.8 mm, postoperatively. There occurred six, eight, and 14 cases of complications at intraoperative, early (<2 weeks) postoperative, and late (≥2 weeks) postoperative period, respectively. Additional operations were needed in nine patients due to the complications. Conclusion : PSO could provide satisfactory results for patients with fixed sagittal imbalance regarding clinical and radiographic outcomes. Additional correction of LL could be achieved with conduction of adjunctive multi-level PCOs during PSO.

감천항 수산물 도매시장 조경설계 (Landscape Design of Gamcheon Wholesale Fish Market)

  • The landscape disign of Gamcheon wholesale fish Market was designed around a turnkey base to promote the economy of Busan Metropolitan City, to establish a fishery marketing center and to modernize existing facilities. The objectives of the project were to promote the mood of an old market, while preserving its functions and efficiency as a market, to design outdoor spaces with natural resources and amenities in balance, and to create attractive tourist spots in connection with the wide area development plan. The project was oriented, fast, to enhance the functions of the market. For this purpose, a multi-dimensional space layout was designed in consideration of functions as a wholesale market. The safety of pedestrians was secured by separating lathes for vehicles and for pedestrians. Tree planting with various functions such as sheltering, wind breaking and guiding was planned. Secondly, nature-friendly and human-friendly landscaping design was attempted. For this, the beautiful natural resources of Amnam Park were utilized, and green spaces such as green bridges linking buildings in the wholesale market, and rooftop gardens were to be arranged. In addition, environment-friendly facilities such as roads paved with natural materials(i.e. gravel, shells) and program parking lots were to be planned. Thirdly, landscape design was considered to create attractive tourist spots. For example, a fish farm was created as a theme street for pedestrians and various water-friendly spaces such as pedestrian ramps, observatories and seaside streets were to be secured. The main contents are as follows. First, a green bridge to Ahnnam Park was introduced for a tour source and flower garden, an event plan and viewing deck open to the sea were planned on the bridge's axis. Secondly, for the effective land use plan concerning open space and convenience to visitors, a promenade was planned, which is connected with the theme plaza and small plazas by environmental sculptures in front of the market hall and at the gate. As well, an observatory and a roof garden help create three dimensional multi leveled space, with a good view of the natural landscape of the sea, sky and park Thirdly, landscape materials, such as trees and those for facilities, strengthened for protection against the seawind and salt damage were selected. The commercial market area was intended to be transformed a traditional functional area of efficiency and economy into an attractive marine leisure area where both tourists and neighbors can make use of it.

비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터를 이용한 전산화단층영상 품질 개선 (Image Quality Improvement in Computed Tomography by Using Anisotropic 2-Dimensional Diffusion Based Filter)

  • 본 연구에서는 비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터를 이용하여 전산화단층영상(computed tomography, CT)의 노이즈 제거와 공간분해능을 향상하고자 하였다. 실험은 4-채널 다중검출기 전산화단층영상기기(4-channel multi-detector computed tomography, MDCT)를 이용하였으며, CT 영상품질 평가를 위해 미국 의학물리학자협의회(american association of physicists in medicine, AAPM) CT 성능 평가용 팬톰을 사용하였다. X-선 조사 조건은 120 kVp, 100 mAs로 고정한 후 ultra-high resolution으로 10 mm 축 방향 스캔 하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터는 원 영상에 각 픽셀에 가중치 1.2를 곱하고 0.4% 히스토그램 스트레칭을 통해 영상의 대조도를 증가시킨 후 비등방성 2차원 확산 필터를 적용하였다. 그 결과, 공간분해능은 원 영상에서 0.75 mm까지 구분되었지만 제안한 비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터 영상에서는 0.40 mm까지 구분되었다. 원 영상의 노이즈는 46.0, 제안한 비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터 영상의 노이즈는 33.5로 27.2%가 감소하였다. 우리가 제안한 비등방성 2차원 확산 기반 필터는 CT의 노이즈 제거와 공간분해능을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

가로수관련 문제유형의 관계론적 해석 - 인천광역시 중앙공원길을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Inter-Relational Interpretation of Street Plant Issues - Focus on Central Park Road in Incheon Metropolitan City -)

  • Generally, trees lining the streets are the most easily accessible green areas in the city and constitute the smallest basic unit in the formation of the urban linear green axis. This study attempts to interpret issues related to city trees from a comprehensive and relational viewpoint. The site of this study is Central Park Street in front of Incheon Metropolitan City Hall. This street is representative of those in Incheon City. This study is an inter-relational interpretation of issues by measuring the vitality of these trees. The following are results of this study: First, the vitality of city trees is higher in those trees growing in natural ground than those growing in plant gratings. This observation can lead to budget savings and increased natural areas in the city. Also, if planter and multi-layering planting methods are introduced where damage to trees is predicted, variation to urban landscape can be achieved while linking to reinforced rearing foundation of street-side trees. Second, there is need for a holistic approach to caring for street-side trees regarding the damage caused by drastic pruning and strong street lights. The typical functions of these trees, like supplying freshness in summer, absorbing solar radiation, and controlling the urban micro-climate are closely related to the vitality of the trees. Accordingly, the function and ecology should be understood holistically, not separately. In this aspect, the functional and ecological use of the multi-layering planting method is effective in protecting pedestrians from vehicles as well. Third, the fallen leaves of monotonous rows of trees have different ecological and functional effects. Not only is the index of greenness in the urban setting increased, but there are also aesthetic and symbolic effects. Fourth, in spite of being the street along which Incheon Metropolitan City Hall, major administrative buildings and Central Park are located, this street does not have its own special identity to discriminate it from other streets. It fulfills only functional criteria based on uniformity. If there is no paradigm shift from today's street system based on vehicles, the role of landscape architecture will be very passive in regards to street-side trees, the minimum unit of urban green. Fifth, on this particular street, many trees were planted in December, which reflects a deficiency of short and long-term strategy, like a street-tree master plan. In this aspect, we still lack a mature culture concerning these trees as a basic unit in urban greenery. Furthermore, there needs to be cultural introspection concerning present administrative practices.

벽지 선택을 위한 감성 차원 축소에 관한 연구 (A study on reduction of sensibility dimension for selection of wallpaper)

  • 벽지에 대한 감성형용사를 수집하였다. 수집한 형용사를 이용하여 소비자들을 위한 벽지 추천 모형을 개발하고자 한다. 설문조사, 현장조사, 인터넷 조사 등 다양한 방법을 통해 형용사를 수집하였고, 수집된 형용사들의 대표 형용사를 찾기 위해 여러 가지 통계분석 방법을 활용하였다. 유사성 행렬을 이용한 다차원 척도 분석방법을 통해 차원의 축명을 결정하고자 시도하였으며 배리맥스 회전 방법을 이용한 요인분석 방법을 통해 3개 또는 4개 정도의 축소된 요인을 찾고자 시도하였다 분석결과에 의하면 요인의 수를 3개로 했을 경우에는 약 $82\%$의 설명력에 대중적인, 중후한, 그리고 여성스러운 등의 형용사로 축소할 수 있었으며, 요인의 수를 4개로 했을 경우에는 약$93\%$의 설명력에 품위 있는, 무난한, 아름다운, 그리고 정감있는 등의 형용사로 축소할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 하여 추후에 소비자들을 위한 벽지추천 모형을 개발하는 데 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Photon Knife 시스템에 근거한 뇌정위 방사선수술에서 표적위치 확인 (Verification of Target Position in Stereotactic Radiosurgery Based on Photon Knife System)

  • 선형가속기(Mitsubishi, ML15MDX)를 이용한 방사선수술시스템인 Photon Knife에서 Linac-gram을 통해 선속-표적 위치를 확인하여 신뢰성 있는 시술을 유지하도록 하였다. 선속-레이저광 교정 기구를 제작하여 레이저광의 입사점과 사출점을 조사하여 빔의 위치결정에 이용하였다. 선형가속기에 부착한 보조 콜리메이터의 고정을 확인하기 위해 Isocenter에서 5 cm 떨어진 위치에 팔각형 필름지지체를 두도록 제작하고 확인용 필름(Kodak X-omat V2)을 설치하였다. 필름에 선형가속기의 지지체를 45$^{\circ}$씩 회전조사 하여 필름에 나타난 거리로 보조 콜리메이터의 이동을 확인한 결과 실험 오차내에서 이동이 없음을 확인하였다. 임상에 이용한 체위 표시기는 10 mm 쇠구슬 제도와 납인형을 두어 PKRS 시술시 환부의 체위를 쉽게 확인할 수 있도록 고안제작되었다. 앙와위 및 우측 측와위로 조사한 방사선수술에서 표적 위치기에 있는 양측 쇠구슬과 콜리메이터 조사면과의 일치를 LINAC-gram에서 확인한 결과 CT 영상의 표적좌표와 비교해서 평균 0.8$\pm$0.26 mm 의 오차범위에서 시술하였음을 보이므로 방사선조사의 정확성을 알 수 있다. 선형가속기의 Couch 에 임의의 힘을 가했을 때 위치변동은 좌우 $\pm$5 mm, Couch 축방향으로 $\pm$1 mm, 상하로 $\pm$2 mm 이동할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이상의 결과로 Photon knife 방사선 수술 시스템은 방사선수술 전 환부의 표적과 선속의 일치를 LINAC-gram을 통해 확인할 수 있어 시술의 신뢰도를 높일 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

타이어 분류 코드의 효율적 인식을 위한 MCBP망 (MCBP Neural Netwoek for Effcient Recognition of Tire Claddification Code)

  • 본 논문은 타이어에 각인된 타이어 분류 코드인(DOT(Department of Transportation) 코드 인식 처리를 위해 타이어 문자를 영상 처리한 후 신명망을 이용하여 인식 시스템을 구축한 것이다. 타이어에 각인된 문자부분을 영상 처리시, 타이어 표면에 각인된 문자가 조명에 민감한 반응을 보일 뿐아니라 난반사로 인한 문자 경계선이 왜곡되는 현상과 인접한 두 개의 문자가 한 레이블을 갖는 현상이 발생된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 특성을 고려한 타이어 영상 처리 알고리즘을 제안하여 실헝을 통해 유효성을 증명하였다. 또한 타이어분류 코드인DOT 코드를 효율적으로 인식하기 위해 인식기를 다중 연결한 MCBP(Multi-Chained BackPropogation)망을 제안하였다. MCBP망에서는 타이어 개별 문자영역에 대한 X, Y축 투영 값을 추출하여 문자 영역 분류를 위한 특징 값과 가로, 세로 7$\times$8 정규화를 이용한 개별 문자의 특징을 추출하여 인식 처리한다. 본 논문에서는 MCBP망에 의해 인식된 결과와 DOT 코드 데이터 베이스를 비교 처리하는 후처리를 통해서 오인식율을 3% 줄였다. 학습 및 인식 결과는 단일 역전파망에 비해 학습시간에서는 60%의 개선과 효과를 얻었으며, 인식율은 90%에서 95%로 향상었다. 또한 후처리까지 포함하면 전체 인식율을 98%까지 증가되는 높은 인식율을 얻을 수 있었다.

주파수응답함수 기반 다자유도 골조 구조물의 동특성치 도출 및 구조모델링 적용 (Derivation of Dynamic Characteristic Values for Multi-degree-of-freedom Frame Structures based on Frequency Response Function(FRF))

  • 구조물의 내진설계 시 지진력은 구조모델 수립 및 구조해석에 기반하여 산정되는데, 구조모델이 실제 구조물의 동특성치를 정확하게 반영하기 위해서는 실제 계측을 통한 보정이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 실제 건물을 모사한 4층 골조 시험체를 대상으로 각 층별 가속도계를 부착하여 1축 진동대 실험을 수행하였다. 실험체의 주기는 실제 건축물의 주기와 유사하며, 수평부재의 무한강성을 고려하여 기둥은 이중곡률로 거동하도록 설계하였다. 입력지진파의 특성에 따른 영향을 고려하기 위해 다양한 주파수와 가속도 크기를 갖는 역사지진파와 인공지진파를 가력하였다. 동적응답신호를 통해 얻은 주파수응답함수를 이용하여 고유진동수와 감쇠비, 모드벡터를 도출하였으며, Mode assurance criterion(MAC)를 통해 입력지진파에 따른 모드벡터 간의 편차를 확인하였다. 또한 진동대 실험을 통해 도출된 감쇠비를 구조모델에 적용하였으며, 실험 결과와의 비교를 통하여 동특성 도출 방법을 검증하였다.
