Simulation of Moving Picture Blur Noise for liquid Crystal Display (액정 디스플레이의 동화상 퍼짐 노이즈 시뮬레이션)

  • Hold-type display의 동화상 인식 원리를 이용하여 인간의 시각특성을 고려한 LCD의 동화상 퍼짐(blur) 노이즈 컴퓨터 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 그리고 이 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 통화상 퍼짐 노이즈 특성을 실험한 결과 화상의 이동속도가 빠를수록 퍼짐 노이즈가 증가하며 백라이트의 점등비가 낮을수록 노이즈가 저감된다는 것을 알았다. 이는 기존의 연구결과들과 잘 일치하는 것으로 이것으로부터 본 연구에서 개발한 시뮬레이터의 알고리듬이 타당하다고 할 수 있다.

  • The tophead monitor is a dual screen monitor that concludes auxiliary monitor with size 6.4 inch on the top of monitor. The bottom monitor screen provide previous function in the same way as before and the auxiliary monitor screen is arranged contents of internet advertising icon, banner advertising icon, moving picture screen, mail icon, etc. If you click contents, contents is moved peristaltically with the bottom monitor screen. The dual monitor screen is controlled by mouse and keyboard in the same way as before.

  • It is presented many effect that represented by implicated one image more than each images with a fragment meaning. ‘Mosaic’ is technique be applied at this situation. ‘Mosaic’ is created by complicated one new image which by multi image be eliminated overlap region. This research is development for mosaic system by multi image. The system is divided that shot segmentation and mosaic image creation. Shot segmentation divided that merge with respect to similarity images which video data of moving picture in sequence time and mosaic image creation is composed of one image with which all frames in segmented shot.

  • In a motion estimation method for use in encoding a moving picture, a full-pixel motion vector is estimated by stochastically sampling a pixel to be processed in a predetermined-sized block of a previous frame or a next frame as a reference frame for each of a plurality of equal-sized blocks in a current frame. Then, a half-pixel motion vector is estimated based on the full-pixel motion vector. Accordingly, both the calculation amount and the calculation time required for the motion estimation are effectively reduced. Further, it can be prevented that the hardware becomes complicated. .

  • 현재 DSP는 음성 및 오디오 신호처리 시스템, 디지털 통신 시스템, 제어 시스템, 영상처리 시스템 등 많은 영역에 걸쳐 성공적으로 사용되고 있다. 몇가지 대표적인 활용분야를 살펴보면, 음성신호 압축 분야 [1-4], MPEG (moving picture expert group)과 같은 오디오신호 압축분야[5,6], 그리고 디지털 통신 시스템에서의 적응 반향제거기, 적응 동화기, 채널간섭 제거, 변복조기, 채널 코딩, 암호화기[7-14] 등에서도 DSP가 사용되고 있다. 그리고 수중 음향 신호처리[15], 디지털 필터 디자인, 전력 스펙트럼 추정, 수중 음향 신호처리 같은 디지털 신호처리 분야[16-23]와 적응 신호처리[24-26], 이외에도 능동 소음 제어기 및 적응 제어기와 같은 제어 시스템 [27]에도 유용하게 이용되고 있다. 또한 영상 압축, 디지털 방송, 의료기기 등과 같은 영상처리 분야[28-32] 및 그 밖의 많은 분야에서 DSP의 활용은 점점 커져가고 있는 추세이다.

  • 최근 스마트 디바이스를 통한 일인형 미디어 소비의 증가와 초 고화질 미디어 서비스를 위한 획득, 압축, 전송 및 재현 관련 기술이 발전함에 따라, VR(Virtual reality) 미디어는 사용자에게 높은 몰입감과 현장감을 제공할 수 있는 차세대 미디어 형태중 하나로 거론되고 있다. 이러한 VR 미디어 시장에서의 요소기술 선점을 위해 MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group), 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project), DVB(Digital Video Droadcasting)와 같은 세계 유력 표준화 단체에서는 관련 기술검토 및 유스케이스 수집 등을 포함한 표준화 준비를 활발히 진행하고 있다. 본고에서는 상기 표준화 단체들의 표준화 동향을 살펴보고, 이를 통해 관련 핵심 요소기술들의 연구 개발 현황을 확인하고자 한다.

  • Universal Serial Bus (USB) is one of the most popular communication interfaces. When USB is used in more extended range, especially configuring home network by connecting multiple digital devices each other, USB interface uses the bandwidth in the way of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) so that the bottleneck of bus bandwidth can be brought under the heavy traffic. In this paper, the more effective usage of bus bandwidth to overcome this situation is introduced. Basically, in order to realize the system for transferring real-time moving picture data among digital information devices, we analyze USB transfer types and descriptors and introduce the method to enhance the detailed performance of isochronous transfer that is one of USB transfer types.

  • A method for computing effectiv ebandwidth of aggregated varable bit rate (VBR) moving picture experts group (MPEG) video traffic is proposed. To compute statistical characteristics of aggregated MPEG traffic, first we split input MPEG traffic into I, B, and P frame traffics and aggregate respective I, B, and P frame traffics according to the frame type. Second statisticsal characteristics of the aggregated MPEG traffic are obtained using those of aggregated I, B, and P frame traffics. The effective bandwidth of the aggregated I frame traffic is computed by using the gaussian bound. Using the modified equivalent capacity, we obtain the effective bandwidths of aggregated B and P frame traffics and then compute the effective bandwidth of the combined B and P frame traffic. Finally the effective bandwidth of the aggregated MPEG traffic is computed by adding the gaussian bound of the aggregated I frame traffic and modifed equivalent capacity of combined B and P frame traffic. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method estimates effective bandwidth of the aggregated MPEG traffic well.

  • Motion interpolation is adopted and has been spread widely into market since it is effective in reducing motion blur, which is considered as weak characteristic due to slow response time of liquid crystal and hold-type display. 120Hz driving using interpolated frames achieves better moving picture quality with less motion blur and less motion judder. However, errors in the interpolated frames can cause visual artifacts such as static text breakup, halos, and occlusions. This paper focuses on categorizing characteristics of visual artifacts and on reducing side-effects by using information from original frames in special cases.

Study of Optimized Condition for Bend State in Polymer Stabilized Pi-cell with Compensation Films

  • The pi-cell [1] is known as one of the candidates for a fast response time and a good viewing angle characteristics due to a self-compensated configuration and can be a replaceable mode instead of the current TN mode and the IPS mode for moving picture in future. This paper shows the optimized condition to maintain bend state instead of splay state, which is mortal demerit for good optical properties in a pi-cell, by using the polymer stabilized method [2]. The good electro-optical characteristics are also obtained by optimizing the various factors, which are monomer concentration in a LC, UV intensity, curing time, curing voltage, and curing temperature, and by using retardation film. We use a scanning electron microscope to study the structures of the polymer stabilized polymer network in a pi-cell as a key to figure out why bend state is occurred.
