Correlation Analysis between Dance Experience and Smoothness of Dance Movement by Using Three Jerk-Based Quantitative Methods

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the association between dance experience and smoothness of hand trajectory during dance by using three jerk-based quantitative methods (integrated squared jerk, mean squared jerk, and dimensionless jerk). Methods: Eleven Korean traditional dancers whose experience of dancing ranged from 5 years to 20 years participated in this study. Dancers performed the Taeguksun motion in Korea traditional dance. Six infrared cameras were used to capture the movement of the hands of the dancers. The smoothness of hand movement was calculated using three jerk-based methods. Results: With regard to the smoothness of the right hand, dance experience was significantly correlated with dimensionless jerk (r=0.656, p=0.028), while dance experience was not significantly correlated with integrated squared jerk (r=0.581, p=0.552) and mean squared jerk. With regard to the smoothness of the left hand, there was no correlation between dance experience and any of the three jerk values. Conclusion: Our results showed that individuals with more dance experience performed the task more smoothly. This study suggests that dimensionless jerk should be used as a predictor for smoothness in dance movement. Thus, our results support the idea that smoothness is an aspect of movement quantity distinct from speed and distance.

아동기와 청년기의 똑바로 누운 자세에서 일어서기 운동형태 (Movement Patterns for Rising from Supine to Erect Stance of Children and Adolescent)

  • This study was described the movement patterns when rising from supine to erect stance. Two hundred eighty seven subjects, ranging in age from 6 year to 28 were filmed while rising from a supine position. Movement Patterns were classified using categorical descriptions of the action of three body regions-the upper and lower extremity, head-trunk region. This study was designed to determine whether within the rising task the movement patterns of different regions of the body vary with age level and sex. The incidence of each movement pattern was calculated and graphed with respect to age level and sex. The most common form of rising for subject in the 6, 7 year mate group usually involved push and reach pattern with upper extremity, half kneel pattern with lower extremity, partial rotation pattern with head-trunk. In the 6, 7 year female group usually involved symmetrical push pattern with upper extremity, symmetrical squat with balance step pattern with lower extremity, symmetrical interrupted by rotation pattern with head - trunk. In the teenage and twenties both sex group usually involved symmetrical push pattern with upper extremity, symmetrical squat pattern with lower extremity, partial rotation pattern with head-trunk.

철봉 내리기 공중 동작의 운동학적 분석(I) (Kinematic Analysis of Airborne Movement of Dismount from High Bar(I))

  • 본 연구는 철봉운동에서 기본이 되는 동작인 몸펴 한번 뒤돌아 내리기 동작을 단계적으로 분석한 후, 이를 토대로 하여 현재 시합상황 중 가장 널리 사용되는 응용동작인 몸펴 두 번 뒤돌아 내리기 동작과 몸펴 두 번 뒤돌며 한번 비틀어 내리기 동작의 운동학적 분석을 수행하여 개개분절 간의 상호작용을 해부학적 3차원 각운동과 각속도로 설명하고 이해할 수 있는 운동학적 자료를 제시하는데 있다. 피험자들은 현재 K대학교에 재학중이며 대학 대표선수인 남자 기계체조 선수 7명을 선정하였으며, 연구에 사용된 인체의 모델은 Zatsiorsky와 Seluyanov(1983, 1985)이 사용한 16개의 분절로 이루어진 인체의 모델을 사용하였다. 신체무게중심이 이동방향을 설명할 수 있는 투사각도 및 투사속도는 공중동작의 회전수가 증가할수록 신체무게중심이 투사되는 각도가 증가되며, 이렇게 증가된 신체무게중심의 투사각도는 신체무게중심의 최고점을 증가시키는 경향을 보였다. 3차원 투사속도를 살펴본 결과 Z방향(수직방향)은 공중돌기 회전수가 증가할수록 증가하는 경향이 나타났으나, 운동진행 방향인 Y방향 속도와 좌우측 기울기를 설명할 수 있는 X방향 속도에서는 의미 있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 철봉 내리기 공중동작에서의 신체분절 및 각도 변화도 중요하지만 각운동량을 만들어내기 위한 동작준비구간의 각도 변화가 더욱더 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 상체가 철봉 아래 봉과 수직될 때부터 릴리즈 순간까지의 각도 변화에 주목해야 하는 데, 회전수가 증가할수록, 어깨관절 각도와 엉덩관절 각도 변화가 두드러지게 나타나 준비구간의 추기기 동작(Whip swing)의 주된 관절로 작용을 한다. 관성좌표계에 대한 상체의 움직임을 나타내는 3차원 방향의 각도 즉, 뒤돌기(somersault)각도, 틀기(twist)각도 그리고 기울기(tilt)각도로 설명이 되는데, 본 연구의 결과 릴리즈시 뒤돌기 각은 세가지 내리기 동작 유형에 따라 평균 57,7도, 38.8도 그리고 39.7도로 나타났으며, 기울기 각은 평균 -1.5도, -5.4도 그리고 -8.4도로 유의한 차이를 보이고 있으며, 틀기각도는 평균 13.4도, 10.6도 그리고 23.3도로 몸펴 두번 뒤돌며 한번 비틀어 내리기 경우 가장 큰 수치를 나타냈다.

학문 중심 과학 교육의 문제점과 생활 소재의 과학 교재화 방안 (Problems of Discipline Centered Science Education and a Method of the Utilization of Everyday Materials in Science Education)

  • The new movement in science education in America and Europe has been heavilly oriented into technological and soceital aspect of science since 1970. However, this spirit has not been well informed in Korea and not adapted in science education. This paper aimed to arouse Korean science educators attention to everyday situation as a science education context. In this paper, the discipline centered science education was briefly reviewed and problems related to the philosophy was pointed out. At the same time the researcher introduced STS context as a science education objective, and elaborated the three elements(physical situation, technological situation. and societal situation) of the context. In the paper, the advantages of the use of everyday context in science education were examined. THe advantages were analysed in terms of the nature of science, learning psychology, integrated science, and societal aspect of science education. The paper also suggested the criteria to select teaching materials from STS context. The suggested criteria were the degree of science concepts involvement, frequency of experience, strength of experience, and possibility of direct experience.

A Study on Systematic Review of Korean Literatures about Effect of Maker Education

  • In this paper, we presented directions of future research based on the result of the systematic review about the effect of maker education. Selected paper were 32, and we analyzed papers in terms of research status, research design, participants, areas, learning style, and educational effect. As a result, the study on the effectiveness of the maker education started from 2016 and has been continuously increasing. Concerning participants, many studies focused on middle school students, upper grade elementary school students, and high school students. In the field of research area, maker education was applied most frequently to convergence education. Maker education has been the most studied in formal education, and problem solving ability and attitude were most verified as educational effects.

  • In this study, we consider the movement-based registration (MBR), location-based registration (LBR) and distance-based registration (DBR) schemes. Analytical models based on a 2-dimensional random walk in a hexagonal cell configuration are considered to analyze and compare the performances of these three schemes. We focus on the derivation of the registration costs of LBR and DBR using an analytical method and then show that DBR always outperforms both MBR and LBR. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the validity of our models under various circumstances.

The motion editor and high precision integration for optimal control of robot manipulators in dynamic structural systems

  • The paper presents the motion editor for the robotic movement in the study. The Motion Editor can edit all motions which we want to need. This method is easy when the beginners edit to motions of robots. And let them have interesting in robot control. This paper proposes two methods to edit movements. First, we edit the robot's movement in VB environment, and then we use the Motion Editor to make it. Finally, we compared merit and defect with two methods. Indeed, it is convenient when we use the Motion Editor.

On wave propagation of football ball in the free kick and the factors affecting it

  • In this research, the researcher has examined the factors affecting the movement of the soccer ball and will show that the effects such as air resistance, altitude above sea level, wind, air pressure, air temperature, air humidity, rotation of the earth, changes in the earth's gravitational acceleration in different areas. It, the geographical length and latitude of the launch point, the change of gravitational acceleration with height, the change of pressure with height, the change of temperature with height and also the initial spin (Magnus effect) affect the movement of projectiles (especially soccer ball). We modelled th ball based on shell element and derive the motion equations by energy method. Finally, using numerical solution, the wave of the ball is studied. The influences of various parameters are investigated on wave propagation of the ball. Therefore, in short, it can be said that the main factors that play a major role in the lateral deviation of the hit ball are the initial spin of the ball and the wind.

Leap Motion을 이용한 전자부품 조립 훈련 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of an Electronic Component Assembly Training System Using Leap Motion)

  • In this study, an electronic parts assembly training system using Leap Motion was developed in consideration of the processes actually operated in the assembly process of electronic products. Based on Leap Motion and Oculus VR equipment, the system was developed to transfer user's hand movement data in real time and convert it into hand movement in virtual space so that electronic parts assembly simulation can be performed step by step. Through this, it was confirmed that the user can obtain an experience similar to the actual electronic parts assembly work, prevent errors that may occur during the assembly process, and improve proficiency. It is expected that this thesis will provide directions for the quality improvement and development of various education and training programs for virtual reality-based manufacturing processes.
