  • Clinicians are familiar with limitation of opening mouth caused by temporomandibular disorders. Sometimes, patients also complain of difficulty in closing mouth. Difficulty in closing mouth can be caused by anterior, posterior disc displacement, and subluxation of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). In this report, we presented a patient who had a difficulty in both opening and closing mouth. The patient complained of TMJ noises and intermittent limitation of opening mouth, and inability to get teeth back into maximal intercuspal position. Magnetic resonance images revealed that the left TMJ had an anterior disc displacement with relative posterior disc displacement. We reviewed the possible causes, signs and symptoms, and treatment for difficulty in closing mouth with related literatures.

  • The lips and corners of the mouth are not only important for appearance but are also essential for facial expression, speech, and nutrition. Defects in these areas can be caused by congenital clefts of the lip and face, trauma, infection, cysts, and excision of benign or malignant tumors. Numerous techniques have been introduced for reconstruction of the lips and corners of the mouth, and in particular, techniques such as the Kazanjian Roopenian I and II, Converse method, Zisser method, Platz and Wepner method. Gillies and Millard method are commonly utilized for elongation and reconstruction of the mouth corner. Few reports exist in the oral and maxillofacial surgery literature regarding correction of microsomia and reconstruction of the corners of the mouth. As such, the authors report a case of the corners of the mouth elongation in a patient with burn-induced microstomia using the Converse flap which yielded a satisfactory outcome.

The results showed that word-of·mouth communication on internet(e-WOM) is composed of two factors, word-of-mouth transmission and word-of-mouth acceptance. These two factors were put under cluster analysis and were classified into two groups of the word-of·mouth communication: WOM group and non-WOM group. T-test showed that word-of-mouth communication groups were significantly different in regard to fashion involvement, internet perceived risk, and internet purchase behavior. For example, WOM group was more uncertain of their clothing choices, put more weight on the internal factors of clothing selection, and was a frequent purchaser of internet fashion products. Internet fashion business needs to implement the proper marketing strategies based on the results of the study.
