  • Switched Reluctance Generator attracts much attention because of high efficiency, simple controllability with traction drive. But the theories that have been adopted as SRG control methods are complicated up to the present. This paper proposes reference current limitation strategy for stable generation and switching angle control in motoring mode. The proposed method is verified by simulation and experiments.

  • A linear generator driven by a hydrogen combustion engine has been developed. Unlike rotary engine-generator systems, the linear counterpart is inherently unable to start by itself unless external force is provided for initial compression/ignition cycle. When the generator is connected to utility power lines through a bidirectional power conversion system, however, the self start-up can be done by driving the generator as a motor. This paper introduces a prototype 1kW linear hydrogen engine-generator system being developed and shows the self start-up is possible with proper motoring mode.

소형(小型)디젤기관(機關)의 냉각성능(冷却性能)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Cooling Performance on the Small Diesel Engine)

  • 본(本) 실험(實驗)은 동력경운기(動力耕耘機)에 탑재(搭載)되는 소형(小型)디젤기관(機關)의 냉각수(冷却水)의 적정량을 구명(究明)하기 위한 기초적(基礎的)인 실험(實驗)으로 냉각수(冷却水) 순환량(循環量) 15, 20, $25{\ell}/min$의 3수준(水準)으로, 변화(變化)시켰을 때의 기계손실(機械損失), 출력(出力), 연료소비율(燃料消費率), 토크, 냉각수흡열양(冷却水吸熱量), 열효율등(熱效率等)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 측정(測定) 분석(分析)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 공시기(公試機)의 Motoring loss는 상용회전(常用回轉) 2,200rpm에서 1.371kW로 정격출력시(定格出力時)의 기계효율(機械效率)은 79.13%로 외국제품(外國製品)보다 약간(若干) 낮았다. 2. 냉각수(冷却水) 순환량(循環量)을 증가(增加)시킴에 따라 출력(出力)은 증가(增加)되는 경향(傾向)을 보였다. 3. 정격출력시(定格出力時) 연료소비율(燃料消費率)은 냉각수순환량(冷却水循環量) $20{\ell}/min$일때 282.93g/kW-h로서 가장 작게 나타났으며 이때 냉각수(冷却水)의 출구온도(出口溫度)는 $80.9^{\circ}C$이었다. 4. 냉각수(冷却水) 순환량(循環量)의 변화(變化)에 따른 토크의 변화(變化)는 거의 없었다. 5. 기관(機關)의 냉각수(冷却水) 흡열량(吸熱量)은 냉각수(冷却水) 순환량(循環量)의 증가(增加)에 따라 증가(增加)하는 경향(傾向)을 나타내었다. 6. 열효율(熱效率)은 냉각수(冷却水) 순환량(循環量) $20{\ell}/min$에서 32.31%로 가장 높게 나타났다.

Load Characteristics of Engine Main Bearing : Comparison Between Theory and Experiment

  • The load characteristics of engine main bearing are very important in the design of crankshaft and engine block. The stiffness of crankshaft and block, or the optimal dimension of the bearing can be determined according to the load level. This paper presents the load characteristics of engine main bearing. Two components of the main bearing load are measured during engine firing and motoring. The vertical and horizontal load components are measured by using the dynamic load cell mounted in each main bearing cap bolt. The measured main bearing loads are compared with calculated results by using the statically determinate method. The theoretical results, provided in this study, agreed well with the experimental results. The presented results are very useful for achieving optimal design of engine.

2축 병렬형 하이브리드 차량의 최저 연비 주행 알고리즘 (An Operation Algorithm for a 2 Shaft Parallel Type Hybrid Electric Vehicle for Optimal Fuel Economy)

  • In this paper, an operational algorithm for a 2-shaft parallel hybrid electric vehicle is suggested for the minimization of operation cost. The operation cost is obtained as a summation of the engine fuel cost and the motor electricity cost. The electrical cost function is estimated in case of motoring, and generating when the recuperation is carried out during the braking. In addition, weight function is introduced in order to maintain the battery state of charge. Based on the operation algorithm, the optimal engine operation point that minimizes the operation cost is obtained with respect to the required vehicle power for every state of charge of battery. The optimal operation point provides the optimal power distribution of the engine and the motor for a required vehicle power Simulation was performed and the fuel economy of the hybrid vehicle was compared to that of the conventional vehicle. Simulation results showed that hybrid vehicle's fuel economy can be improved as much as 45∼48% compared to the conventional vehicle's.

  • 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기는 고출력, 고효율 및 직권전동기 구동특성 등으로 견인구동용으로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 전동기를 4상한 구동하기 위한 발전영역에서 제어는 쉽지 않다. 본 논문은 전류제한법에 의해 안정된 발전제동이 가능한 제어방식을 제안하였다. 전동기 구동시는 기준전류제한방식과 위상각 제어방식으로 속도제어를 행하고, 발전제동모드에서는 상전류가 발산하지 않는 조건을 산정하여서 이 값을 기준전류로 한 전류제한방식을 채택하였다. 시뮬레이션과 실험에 의해 제안한 방식의 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • A new flux-weakening scheme for an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) is proposed. This control scheme enables the maximum torque operation for the fast acceleration in the constant power region according to the current and voltage limit condition. Especially the dynamic performance of the braking in the flux-weakening region is improved with the compensation of the stator resistance. Also since the onset of the flux weakening operation is adjusted according to the load conditions, the machine parameters, and whether motoring or braking region, the stable and precise transition operation into or out of the flux weakening region can be achieved. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified through experiments with an IPMSM drive system.

퍼지 추론을 이용한 적응적 DC/AC 인버터 설계 (Adaptive DC to AC Invertor Design based on Fuzzy Inference for Power Consumption monitoring)

  • 본 논문에서는 마이크로프로세서를 이용하여 소비전력 모니터링이 가능한 100[W]급 직류입력/교류출력변환 인버터를 설계하였다. 또한 입출력 제어와 소비전력정보 모니터링을 외부환경에 적응적으로 대응하기 위해 퍼지추론 시스템을 설계하였다. 추론결과를 PIC16C711 프로세서에서 처리함으로서 입력전압의 변화와 소자의 온도특성 등에 적응적인 인버터 설계가 가능함을 보였다. 제작된 시스템을 이용하여 효율실험 및 부하실험을 수행하였고 오차는 2% 이내임을 확인하였다.

  • Hybrid electric propulsion systems (H-EPSs) are an intermediate step for integrated full electric propulsion warships. H-EPSs are a dynamic combination of mechanical and electrical propulsion systems to achieve the required mission performances. The system modes could adapt to meet the requirement of the various operation conditions of a warship. This paper presents a configuration and operating modes of H-EPSs considering the operation conditions of a destroyer class warship. The system has three propulsion modes, namely, motoring mode, generating mode [power take off (PTO) mode], and mechanical mode. The PTO mode requires a careful fuel efficiency analysis because the fuel consumption rate of propulsion engines may be low compared with the generator's engines depending on the loading power. Therefore, the calculation of fuel consumption according to the operating modes is performed in this study. Although the economics of the PTO mode depends on system cases, it has an advantage in that it ensures the reliability of electric power in case of blackout or minimum generator operation.

  • 전기자동차 시스템에서 전지관리장치는 배터리의 접압과 온도, 충방전 전류를 검지하고 관리하여, 전기자동차의 운정상태에 따라 충전상태 (SOC)를 추정하여 배터리를 최적 관리하는 역할을 본다. 본 논문에서는 BMS의 역할과 기능에 대한 적합한 알고리즘을 제시하고 이를 EV 차량에 탑재 적용하여 주행시험 및 성능 시험을 행하여 타당성을 입증하였다.
