This study is to develop a Korean version of nonword intervention by modifying and supplementing a Rapid syllable transition treatment (ReST) and to determine its effect by applying it to children with CAS. Ultimately, the purpose of this study is to investigate whether nonword interventions are effective for nonword production ability and generalization of real words. Single-subject research using the ABA design was performed for a child aged five years and six months with diagnostic features of CAS. The nonwords used in the interventions were made suitable for the individual child. The intervention was provided in one-hour sessions, twice a week for six weeks. In all cases, performance of the treated three-syllable nonwords improved, and untreated three-syllable words, four-syllable words, and nonwords showed a generalization effect. However, the generalization of treatment effects to words was smaller than for nonwords. The nonword intervention was effective in improving the subject's speech motor programming skills. As a result, transition errors due to impaired speech motor programming were greatly reduced, and the ability to produce untreated nonwords was greatly increased. However, there was a limit to the full improvement of strongly habitable word errors, which would be expected if a more intensive and repetitive intervention schedule was provided.
During therapy sessions, feedback is often provided concurrently by the physical therapist as the patient attempts to perform a movement and after the movement attempt. This feedback is provided to enhance the patient's balance abilities. However, recent studies in nondisabled populations have suggested that frequent feedback may be detrimental to retention or learning of motor skills. This study compared the effects of 100% relative frequency of knowledge of performance (KP) with 66% relative frequency of KP for motor learning on balance retraining in patients with hemiplegia. Twenty patients with hemiplegic were randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups. The acquisition phase consisted of 16 blocks of 5 trials for 2 days (80 total practice trials). The retention phase consisted of 2 blocks of a short-term retention test, one day after the end of the acquisition phase and a long-term retention test, one week after the end of the short-term retention test. In the 100% feedback condition, participants received feedback after every practice trial. A faded KP schedule was used in the 66% condition. No significant differences were found between the two groups during all experimental phases (acquisition and retention phases), (p>.05). However, there were significant decreases in balance index for both groups of acquisition phase (p<.05). These results suggest that 66% relative frequency of KP is not more effective than 100% relative frequency of KP with respect to retention over time when hemiparetic patients attempt to learn balance.

Purpose : The purpose of this experiment is to find out the effectiveness which exert influence on cognitive skills by using the Driver Rehabilitation program for senior citizens who are over 65 years old and live in Busan. Method : From July first, 2014 to August 28th, 2014, we researched the 60 elderly people who are over 65 and go to community relief center which is in Busan. - 30 are experimental group and the other is control group. In the experimental group, we used Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in the model road. For estimation, we used MVPT-3(Motor-Free Visual Perception Test-3), Trail Making Test - 1, Trail making Test - 2 and LOTCA(Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment). Result : Nintendo wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road results efficient visual perception ability. This programs results effectively in visual perception ability and space perception ability. This programs results effectively in motor apraxia ability. This programs results effectively in control ability for visual perception. This programs results effectively in thinking operation. Conclusion : Nintendo Wii's driving simulation program and RC Car driving program in model road positively influence improving for visual perceptual ability and cognitive function of elderly people. Also it is considered as being more efficient for improving visual perceptual ability and cognitive function to implement basic rehabilitation training with driving rehabilitation program than basic training itself.

Purpose: Rehabilitative devices are used to enhance sensorimotor training protocols, for improvement of motor function in the hemiplegic limb of patients who have suffered a stroke. Sensorimotor integration feedback systems, included with these devices, are very good therapeutic frameworks. We applied this approach using electrical stimulation in stroke patients and examined whether a functional electric stimulation-assisted biofeedback therapy system could improve function of the upper extremity in chronic hemiplegia. Methods: A prototype biofeedback system was used by six subjects to perform a set of tasks with their affected upper extremity during a 30-minute session for 20 consecutive working days. When needed for a grasping or releasing movement of objects, the functional electrical stimulation (FES) stimulated the wrist and finger flexor or extensor and assisted the patients in grasping or releasing the objects. Kinematic data provided by the biofeedback system were acquired. In addition, clinical performance scales and activity of daily living skills were evaluated before and after application of a prototype biofeedback system. Results: Our findings revealed statistically significant gradual improvement in patients with stroke, in terms of kinematic and clinical performance during the treatment sessions, in terms of manual function test and the Purdue pegboard. However, no significant difference of the motor activity log was found. Conclusion: Hemiplegic upper extremity function of a small group of patients with chronic hemiparesis was improved through two weeks of training using the FES-assisted biofeedback system. Further research into the use of biofeedback systems for long-term clinical improvement will be needed.

This study gathered previous studies on the effects of image training in school physical education conducted in korea in order to investigate the average effect size as well as the factors that influence the effect sizes. This study connoted findings of individual studies related to image training in school physical education from 1995 to 2018. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, the overall mean effect size of the image training in school physical education was large size(Cohen, 1988). Secondly, motor skills showed the large effect size than psychological variable. Thirdly, major factors that influence the effect of image training in school physical education appeared to be the type of motor learning, age, gender, training period, training frequency, training ime. Based on these findings, implications for future research and application of image training in school physical education were suggested.

Grain design has always been a vital and integral part of Solid Rocket Motor(SRM) design. Basing on the design objectives set by the system designer, the SRM designer has many options available for selecting the Grain configuration. Many of the available configurations may fulfill the required parameters of volumetric loading fraction, web fraction & Length to diameter ratios and produce internal ballistic results that may be in accordance to the design objectives. However, for any given set of design objectives, it is deemed necessary that best possible configuration be selected, designed and optimized. Hence optimal results of all applicable configurations are vital to be attained in order to compare and finalize the design that will produce most efficient performance. Generally the engineers pay attention and have skills on a specific grain configuration. The designing methodologies and computer codes available usually focus on single grain configuration may it be Star, Wagon Wheel or slotted tube. Hardly one can find a software or a design methodology where all such configurations can be worked on jointly and not only adequate designs be found but optimal solutions reached by applying an optimization method to find final design best suited for any design objective. In the present work design requirements have been set, grain configurations have been selected and their designing has been conducted. The internal ballistic parameters have been calculated and after finding the preliminary design solutions, the optimal solutions have been found. In doing so, software has been developed comprising of computer programs for designing the 2D grains including Star, Wagon Wheel and Slotted Tube configurations. The optimization toolbox of Matlab Fmincon has been used for getting optimal solutions. The affects of all the independent geometric design variables on the optimized solutions have been analyzed. Based on results attained from Optimization Method, an in depth comparison of Grain Configurations and analysis of performance prediction outputs have been conducted to come to conclusion as to which grain configuration is ideal for the current design requirement under study.

The purpose of this study is to have a preliminary study in order to identify changes in occupational performance skills and visual perception of patients with mild dementia, who have been provided with a group occupational therapy program, within community day-care center. The subjects of this study were 9 people with mild dementia living in a community. The period of administration was for 60 minutes per session three times a week during four weeks. We assessed their visual perception function(MVPT) and occupational performance(AMPS). One group pre-post test design was implemented as an experimental study to compare the results between before and after applying the group occupational therapy program within sensory, physical, creative activity. While a statistically significant difference between before and after the program of motor skills(occupational performance skill) is not shown, the visual perception function and occupational performance of patients with mild dementia improved significantly after receiving occupational therapy program(p<0.01, p<0.05). Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the group occupational therapy program is helpful to manage the occupational performance skills and visual perception of patients with mild dementia in community day-care center.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of brain-timing training using an Interactive Metronome (IM) on the reading abilities of children with low brain-timing abilities. Methods : A single-group pretest and posttest (retrospective study) were conducted in 8 children whose timing abilities were lower than that for their age average and who were trained from 2019 to 2021. Brain-timing training was conducted 2 or 3 times per week, with 70 sessions in total and 40-50 minutes per session, depending on the developmental characteristics of the child. Changes in brain-timing ability before and after the training were measured using the IM Long-Form Assessment (LFA), and reading ability was measured using the Basic Academic Skills Assessment:Reading (BASA:R). Results : On the basis of the results of the brain-timing ability evaluation using the LFA, the reaction times of all the children during motor tasks were decreased, resulting in statistically significant improvements in their brain-timing abilities (p < .05). Moreover, the raw scores in the BASA:R reading and fill-in-the-blank tests were significantly improved (p < .05). Conclusion : This study is meaningful in that it presents a clinical basis for brain-timing training to improve the reading abilities of children.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of group Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) on the occupational performance and social interaction skills of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Methods : A single-case experimental study with an ABA design was conducted from April to June 2021, targeting three children with cerebral palsy who met the study selection criteria. The baseline period consisted of 3 intervention sessions until the data were stabilized, and the intervention period consisted of 10 sessions (once a week, 60 minutes/session). For comparison before and after the intervention, motor development, visual perception, and daily life behavior were evaluated. To evaluate the quality of each session, a performance quality evaluation scale was used. Results : In all 3 subjects, the quality of work performance in the three common goal activities improved. The evaluation scores for visual perception, large and small movements, and daily activities were also improved. Conclusion : This study provided evidence that group CO-OP can improve the pre-academic skills and occupational performance of children with CP.

Objective : To report the effects of a specific intervention, the Interactive Metronome$^{(R)}$ (IM), on timing, attention and motor function of a children with ADHD. Methods : The study is case reports about two boys with ADHD. One boy who is born 2008 is attending general elementary school as a first year student (case 1), and another boy who is born 2001 is attending general elementary school as a second year student (case 2). For each case subject, IM training was provided during 3 weeks, from January 2015 to Febrary 2015. Evaluations were performed pre- and post-intervention in order to exam timing, attention and motor skills. The measurements uses in this study are Long Form Assessment (LFA) for the timing, RehaCom screening module for the attention, and Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Morot Proficiency, second version (BOT-2) for the motor function. Results : The timing function was improved in both cases since both showed reduced response time for all motor tasks of LFA. In terms of attention, case 1 showed improvement of visual attention division, neglect and response Inhibition, and case 2 showed improvement of sustained attention. Lastly, in the BOT-2, case 1 showed improved the percentile rank of short (from 42%ile to 96%ile), and case 2 also showed similar improvement (from 21%ile to 66%ile). Conclusion : This study provides positive evidence that the Interactive Metronome$^{(R)}$ training has positive power to facilitate several body functions such as timing, attention and motor control of children with ADHD, through two case studies.
