  • In this paper, In the whole industry, there is a tendency to replace brushless motors with brushless motors because of the high rate of failure in DC motors with brushes. Accordingly, many methods for driving a brushless motor have been developed and studied. In order to drive the brushless motor, it is essential to know the information about the rotor position of the motor. However, it is not possible to use a position sensor for rotor disconnection due to the structure of an electric compressor brushless DC motor. In this paper, we investigate the rotor position of the motor by using the counter electromotive force included in the voltage of the terminal made by Y connection by using the resistance of each phase without using Hall sensor or encoder generally used to detect the rotor position. A sensorless drive system for a square wave brushless direct current (DC) motor is proposed. To do this, we propose a method to detect the rotor position from the analyzed terminal voltage waveform by performing terminal voltage analysis of each phase for 3-phase, 2-exciton unipolar PWM.

Spatial and Temporal Features of Motor Modules in an individual with Hemiparesis During the Curvilinear Gait: A Pilot Single-Case Study

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate spatial and temporal features of motor control in an individual with hemiparesis during the curvilinear gait (CG) and proposed an exercise guideline. Research design, data and methodology: An individual aged 63 with hemiparesis by stroke disease was participated in the study. Autoencoder (AE) was used to extract four motor modules from eight muscle activities of the paretic leg during CG. After extraction, each module of four modules was operationally defined by numbering from M1 to M4 according to spatial and temporal features and compared with results reported in a previous study. Results: As a result, an individual with hemiparesis had motor module problems related to difficulty of weight acceptance (module 1), compensation for the weakness of ankle plantar flexor (module 2), a spastic synergistic pattern (module 3) and difficulty with transition from the swing to stance phase (module 4) in terms of spatial features. Also, a delayed activation timing of temporal motor module (module 2) related to the forward propulsion during CG was observed. Conclusions: Gait rehabilitation for the stroke will need to consider clinical significances in respect of the deterioration of motor module and provide the tailored approaches for each gait phase.

  • Superconducting synchronous motor using HTS(high-temperature superconducting) field windings has a lot of advantages over LTS(Jow-temperature superconducting) synchronous machine. A recently developed 5000[hp] HTS motor represents 1/2 reduction in weight and volume compared to an induction type conventional machine. Furthermore. 40% machine loss is reduced compared to the industry average. Based on a conceptual design, a 100[hp] HTS synchronous motor is modeled by F.E.M(Finite Element Method) and the performance is predicted in this paper

  • 3-phase Induction machines are being used in industry and dq transformation from 3 phase of a, b, c is commonly used to analyze these machines. The equivalent circuits of d and q axis are however generally cross coupled and not simple to analyze. In this study, an analysis method of 3ph induction motor considering current regulator using dq transformation and matrix vector is proposed and it can explain the 3ph induction motor physically. This model does not need the separating process of d and q components. With this technique, the model becomes simple, is easy to understand in physical, and can get the same results with those from the other dq models. These simulation results of the proposed model are compared with those of other models for the conformation of the proposed method.

  • For the industrialized nations, the manufacturing industries have becomes increasingly difficult to meet customers' demands and complete on the international market. Thus, manufacturing industries must be able tn react quickly to prevailing market conditions and to maximize the utilization of resources. Within recent years, computer technology, in conjunction with software technology, has made available to the manufacturer tools which can greatly improve their reaction to a new market situation, speeding up the design of products, improving process planning, maximizing resource scheduling, and streamling production flow through factories. This paper investigate "CALS" systems for motor's companies. The purpose of this study is to give some ideas of finding a better way of constructing "CALS" system in Korea motor's companies.a motor's companies.

  • In the machine tool industry, direct drive linear motor technology is of increasing interest as a means to achieve high acceleration, and to increase reliability [1]. In this paper, we analyze and compare the characteristics of tubular motor with halbach and vertical magnet array respectively. We derive magnetic field solutions due to the PMs and to the currents. Motor thrust is then derived. The results are shown in good conformity with those obtained from the commonly used finite element method.

  • This paper presents about the analysis on cost factor reduction using the life cycle cost model for motor block in the KTX-1. Until now, most life cycle cost of the system as a whole that has been studied. but in case of railway industry part, LCC studies are needed on the subsystem like a propulsion control system because subsystems are developed continuously localization. Therefore, In this paper presents cost breakdown structure for life cycle cost (LCC) estimation for localization development of propulsion control system (Motor Block) in high speed railway vehicle (KTX-1). Also to analysis LCC on motor block, it was analyzed physical breakdown structure (PBS) and preventive cost on propulsion control system in view of maintenance cost. Based on this, we describe life cycle cost on motor block of KTX-1.

  • The DC motor has the strong characteristics in the speed response, the system parameter variations and the external influence and is used as the speed controller with its good starting torque in the distributing industry. However development of the Microprocessor which is for high speed switching program can make better control system.   • In order to increase the porductivity of electrical parts, manufacturing processes using progressive dies have been widely used in the industry. Motor cores have been fabricated using progressive stacking die with the lamination procedure for better electro-magnetic property. for the proper design of a process, a prediction of the process is required to obtain many design parameters. In this work, rigid-plastic finite element analysis is carried out in order to simulate the lamination this work, rigid-plastic finite element analysis is carried out in order to simulate the lamination process of the motor core. The effects of the embossing depth and the amount of deviation are investigated and compared with experiments. The forming process can then be predicted successfully from the results of analyses, which enables to design appropriately the die and the process.
