Development of Automatic Transferring Motor Driver for a Two-Motors-Driven Electrical Scooter (전후륜 자동절환기능을 갖는 2륜 전기오토바이용 모터 드라이버 개발)

  • We developed to have an automatic transferring function of a two-motors-driven electrical scooter for women or seniors to use conveniently it since it has been previously to operate it in manual only. The function would be implemented by using master and slave micro-control units(MCU) in the system with the given input and output signals. The simulation and test of the system results show that the transition conditions of either higher accelerating speed and/or higher torque are demonstrated at the worst conditions, which means that the transition points might be set either at the 70% of accelerating speed or from the 100% of load torque. The developed equipment is very useful and has good performance in the real test and would be used for top brand and might be applicable to any other types of green cars.

  • The 2nd prototype LPM is designed as single side stator structure for improving the thrust force and acceleration time. Experimental results are shown that the static and dynamic characteristics are improved compared with the 1 st prototype. By the computer simulation, the permanent magnet design method is also clarified to desired thrust force. And microstep driver is adopted to the position controller to the designed LPM. The driver suppressed position errors within 1/10 pitch.

This research implemented a system to control a general toy car using Raspberry pi and motor driver. This research will help develop ordinary toy cars to RC cars or learn on their own and drive on their own through further development.

  • This paper describes the development of the linear pulse motor (herea-fter, LPM) and the driver system to control the quantity of fuel in the nuclear furnace. The LPM developed in this study is a kind of the linear motor with the properties of moving up and down, and both the stator and the mover of the LPM are designed as the salient type. Especially, the stator has windings but there is no windings or magnet on the mover. To Maximize the characteristics of the LPM, we chose the asymmetric bridge converter as the driving system for LPM.

  • A singl-phase power factor corrected converter for switched reluctance motor hive is presented to achieve a sinusoidal and new unity power factor input currents. Because it combines a power factor corrected converter and a conventional asymmetric SRM driver into one power stage, the configuration has a simple structure resulted in low cost. A prototype to drive 6/6 poles SRM employing a parking magnet Is designed to evaluate the proposed topology. The characteristics and operational mode will be discussed in depth, and the validity of proposed driver will be verified through the experimental results.

  • A gate driver suitable for forced switch-mode power converters such as UPS and motor drive system is presented. The proposed gate driver uses regenerated snubber power and requires no separate power supply. This does not impose any additional complexity on the main switch. Experimental results show that the proposed circuit is valid.

  • The recent power add-on drive wheelchairs (PADWs) provide greater physical activity and easier transportability and may be an excellent alternative for the typical manual and powered wheelchairs. The driving system consists of a motor and a motor driver is the most important component of the PADW In this paper, design, implementation, and testing of a driving system for a PADW are presented. To design the output power and torque for the driving system, the equation of motion has been investigated. The motor and driver were fabricated with precise machining and assembled to implement our prototype driving system. The dynamometer test has been carried out using the prototype in order to examine the torque of the system. The experimental results demonstrates that the designed driving system can provide enough output power and efficiency for utilization in a PADW.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is most commonly used in the automotive industry as a traction motor for electric vehicle (EV). In electric vehicle, the torque output rapidly changes according to the operation of the accelerator and the braking of the driver. The transient torques are thus generated very frequently in accordance with the variable speed control of the driver. Therefore, in this paper, a method for improving the torque response in the transient states of IPMSM is proposed. In order to complement the disadvantages of the conventional PI current controller in the field oriented control (FOC), the finite-state model predictive current control and 2D-LUT is applied to improve the torque response at the torque transient period. Simulation and experiment results are given to verify the reliability of the proposed method.

  • Recently, we have reconstructed LX-200 12inch telescope system for tracking and observing man-made space object. Motor, motor driver and motion controller were up-graded for getting faster respond characteristic and active control available. Also, command signal was offered to the PID controller into motor driver as computed real orbiting information of objects using PC, and it's control period of command signal was reduced to the 20ms. As the result, slew speed of the mount system was in proved up to $18^{\circ}/sec$ and respond speed of the system was faster than that of commercial system. Also, flipping state of image observed could be minimized by the up-graded system.

  • In order to establish the design technique of the robust current controller in d.c series wound motor driver system, this paper proposes a method of the compensated Bang-Bang current control using d.c series wound motor driver system under the improperly variable load to get minimum time for the torque control. The compensated Bang-Bang current controller structure is simpler than that of PID plus Bang-Bang controller. This paper shows that a general 16 bits microprocessor is efficiently used to implement such an algorithm. The calculation time of software is extremely small when compared with that of conventional PID plus Bang-Bang controller. Both nonlinear operating characteristics of digital switching elements and describing function methods are used for the analysis and synthesis. Real-time implementation of the compensated Bang-Bang current controller is achieved. The concept of design strategy of the control and the PWM waveform generation algorithms are presented in this paper.
