4.16kV 전동기 고정자 권선의 절연열화 특성 (Characteristics of Insulation Aging in 4.16kV Motor Stator Windings)

  • Nondestructive tests were performed on two 4.16kV motors. Epoxy-mica coupler(80pF) was connected to 4.16 kV motor stator windings. The voltage applied to the stator windings was 2.4 kV, 3.0kV, 3.5kV and 4.16kV, respectively. Digital partial discharge detector(PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA) were used to measure partial discharge(PD) activity. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). The PD levels in pC were measured with PDD. PD patterns of stator windings were indicated the internal discharge. PD patterns are consistent with the result of measurement using PDD and TGA.

  • Partial discharge(PD) tests are used to evaluate the insulation condition of stator windings in six 6.6kV motors. These tests were conducted using a conventional partial discharge detector (PDD), turbine generator analyzer(TGA) and partial discharge analyzer(PDA). Off-line PD measurements were performed on six 6.6kV motors. PD magnitudes ranged from 740 pC to 5,100 pC at the normal line-to-ground voltage. Six 6.6kV motors have been equipped with eighteen 80pF epoxy-mica couplers(one per phase) on the motor terminal boxs. The PD pulse from sensors were measured with the TGA and PDA instruments on a normally operating motors. The PDD, TGA and PDA test results showed that internal discharge was detected in voids of the groundwall insulation.

  • With the development of high speed railway, traction motors play a critical role in the operation of railway vehicle. This paper describes the use of 1000 pF coupler as a on-line partial discharge (PD) measurement for the assessment of railway traction motor. The PD tests are performed with developed PD analyzer and the 5 model coils such as thermal, electrical, mechanical and environmental aging respectively at various AC voltages. On-line PD tests using 1000 pF couplers show that PD patterns can be detected successfully at 2.3 kV.

  • High voltage(H.V.) induction motors have been applied to various industrial applications. But aging and failure of induction motors are initiated by electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical processes during manufacturing or in-service. These detects reduce locally the dielectric strength of the insulation. At such defects partial discharges can occur, which cause further degradation of the insulation and reduce the life time of the H.V induction motors. Consequently in this paper, we studied the partial discharge pattern analysis of H.V. induction motor for on-site applications.

전기철도용 견인전동기의 복합가속열화 상태진단에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Complex Accelerating Degradation and Condition Diagnosis of Traction Motor for Electric Railway)

  • In this study, the stator form-winding sample coils based on silicone resin and polyimide were made for fault prediction and reliability estimation on the C-Class(200$\^{C}$ ) insulation system of traction motors. The complex accelerative degradation was periodically performed during 10 cycles, which was composed of thermal stress, fast rising surge voltage, vibration, water immersion and overvoltage applying. After aging of 10 cycles, the condition diagnosis test such as insulation resistance '||'&'||' polarization index, capacitance '||'&'||' dielectric loss and partial discharge properties were investigated in the temperature range of 20 ∼ 160$\^{C}$. Relationship among condition diagnosis tests was analyzed to find a dominative degradation factor and an insulation state at end-life point.

  • KSLV-I상단부 킥모터는 연소 중 피치 및 요 축 자세제어를 위해 플렉시블 씰이 적용된 구동 노즐을 사용하였다. 플렉시블 씰은 고무와 보강재를 번갈아 가며 적층하며, 고무의 변형을 통해 노즐이 회전할 수 있도록 한다. 따라서 플렉시블 씰 개발에서 노즐의 운용 조건에 맞는 고무를 개발하는 것은 매우 중요한다. 킥모터 플렉시블 씰 제작에 사용된 고무의 성능 평가를 위해 단축 인장시험, QLS 시험(전단 계수, 파단 전단응력), 노화 시험을 수행하였다. 시험 결과 고무의 전단 계수는 0.4310 ~ 0.4997MPa 범위를 가지며, 고무의 파단 전단응력은 2.5MPa 이상을 보이고 있다.

PD 분포 분석에 의한 견인전동기 고정자 코일의 열화도 분류에 관한 연구 (Classification of stator coil degradation of traction motor by PD signal distribution analysis)

  • Degradation and insulation failure of traction motor depend on the continuous stress imposed on it. And knowing on insulation condition is important thing for safety operation of EMU(electric multiple unit). In this paper, PD(partial discharge) characteristics for degradation analysis of stator coil is studied. For PD data acquisition, two models are made; one is normal condition coil, the other is aged condition coil. And PD data for discrimination were acquired from PD detector. And these data making use of a computer-aided discharge analyser, statistical and other discharge parameters is calculated to discrimination between different discharge sources. And also these parameter is applied to classify PD sources by neural networks. Neural Networks has good recognition rate for degradation of stator coil.

HILS 기반의 수중체 냉각 시스템 개선 (Improvement of Submarine Cooling System using HILS Simulation)

  • Owing to rapid development of power device and inverters, most of submarines adopt an eletric propulsion system. Although PMPM(Permanent Magnet Propulsion Motor) propulsion system has relatively higher power, energy conversion efficiency and smaller volume than engine propulsion system, it also produces large amount of heat due to current flowing inside motor coils and change of magnetic field induced by iron core. The produced heat in stator and inverter largely affects motor efficiency and bearing lubrication and causes thermal aging while the system is on operation. So, we analyze the existing cooling system and submarine ESS (Energy Saving System) cooling system whose power consumption is reduced. HILS(Hardware In the Loop System) technique is used for the modelling of the submarine cooling system. To confirm the ESS cooling system characteristic, HILS is simulated using LabVIEW with hardware. As a result, the ESS cooling system has the characteristic of better temperature stability and less power consumption than the existing one.

  • The Variable Valve Timing(VVT) system for high performance is a key technology used in newly developed engines. The system realizes higher torque, better fuel economy, and lower emissions by allowing an additional degree of freedom in valve timing during engine operation. In this study, a model-based control method is proposed to enable a fast and precise VVT control system that is robust with respect to manufacturing tolerances and aging. The VVT system is modeled by a third-order nonlinear state equation intended to account for nonlinearities of the system. Based on the model, a controller is designed for position control of the VVT system. The sliding mode theory is applied to controller design to overcome model uncertainties and unknown disturbances. The experimental results suggest that the proposed sliding mode controller is capable of improving tracking performance. In addition, the sliding mode controller is robust to battery voltage disturbance.
