A travel destination offers a form of novelty to the traveler since it can provide experiences that are not of the everyday variety. Therefore, a search for novelty is important as a motivation factor when planning leisure trips and vacation activities and to identify travel market segments. This study aimed to examine the differences in demographic characteristics, travel style, and preferred food-related activities in accordance with the level of tourists' novelty seeking. This study investigated potential tourists using a self-administered questionnaire survey, which resulted in 300 usable questionnaires. The respondents of this study were classified into two groups according to their level of novelty seeking: Active novelty-seeking group and Passive novelty-seeking group. These two groups were significantly different with respect to demographic characteristics, travel style, and preference of food-related-activity experience. The results show that the Active novelty-seeking group tended to have a higher proportion of females and specialized jobs, a higher level of monthly income and education, more frequent travel, and preference for food-related activity experience than other groups. The result of this study will be helpful for the tourist industry, which needs to develop culinary and food-related experience tour programs and travel market segments.

The purposes of this study are two folds: (a) to identify the influences of tourism on subjective well-being, and (b) to understand the roles of travel motivation, constraint and personal value in subjective well-being. A polling agency was employed to select 500 respondents by quota sampling, and data was collected by online survey. ANOVA and regression results showed that tourism participants, compared to the non-participants, have a tendency to select tourism as a mean to enhance their subjective well-being because they are more self-motivated people. Their high motivation to take a trip lead to set up their feasible goals to achieve by the tourism experience and their relatively few constraints help them to have trip easily. The people's satisfaction in tourism contributes to the satisfaction in his/her leisure life, which in turn contributes to his/her subjective well-being. It is also revealed that tourism participation and subjective income level are significant variables affecting subjective well-being, which explain 21.1 percent of the variance. The research suggests various managerial implications to reduce constraints and several ideas for future researches.

For usage, the visitors required the basic amenities such as guide board and the more active promotion. They also preferred the discovery of traditional resources using the marsh plants and the experience of nature. Both local residents and outside visitors pointed out the lack of systematic management policy and lack of communication with local residents as the main problems. They recognized that the policy that balanced the preservation and usage through the cooperation of various stakeholder including local residents must be established and applied in the field to ensure proper management.

Continuously motivating people to exercise regularly is more important than finding a way out of barriers such as lack of time, cost of equipment, lack of nearby facilities, and poor weather. Our proposed system presents practicable methods of motivation through a diverse exercise aid system. The Health Improvement and Management System (all-in-one system which saves space and maintenance costs) measures and evaluates a diverse body shape analysis and physical fitness test and directs users to automated personalized exercise prescription which is prescribed by the expert system of three types of exercise templates: aerobics, anaerobics, and leisure sports. Automated personalized exercise prescriptions are built into XML based documents because the data needs to be in the form of flexible, expansible, and convertible structures in order to process various exercise templates, BIOFIT, a digital exercise trainer, monitors and provides feedback on the physiological parameters while users are working out in the gymnasium. If these parameters do not range within the prescribed target zone, the device will alarm users to control the exercise and make the exercise trainer adjust systemically the proper exercise level. Numeric health information such as the report of the physical fitness test and the exercise prescription makes people stay interested in exercising. In addition, this service can be delivered through the Internet.
