  • While acquiring the image, the shaking of the image capturing equipment or the object seriously damages the image quality. This phenomenon, which degrades the clarity and the resolution of the image is called motion blur. In this paper, a newly defined function is introduced for finding the degree and the length of the motion blur. The domain of this function defined as Peak-trace domain. In The Peak-trace domain, the noise dominant region for calculating the noise variance and the signal dominant region for extracting the degree and the length of the motion blur are defined and analyzed. Using the information of the Peak-trace in the signal dominant region, we can find the direction of the motion regardless of the noise corruption. Weighted least mean square method helps extracting the Peak-trace more precisely. After getting the direction of the motion blur, we can find the length of the motion blur based on one dimensional Cepstrum. In the experiment, we could efficiently restore the degraded image using the information obtained by the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper presents a technique for motion compensation of ISAR(Inverse SAR) images for a moving target. If a simple fourier transform is employed to obtain ISAR image for a moving target, the image is usually blurred. These images blurring problem can be solved with the time-frequency transform. In this paper, motion compensation algorithms of ISAR image such as STFT(Short Time Fourier Transform), GWT(Gabor Wavelet Transform) are described. In order to show the performances of each algorithm, we use scattering wave of the ideal point scatterers and simulated MIG-25 to obtain motion compensated ISAR image, and display the resolution of STFT and GWT ISAR image.

  • We propose an efficient method for single image motion deblurring using edge prediction. Previous methods for motion deblurring from a single image have been based on total variation or natural image statistics. In contrast, our method predicts sharp edges by applying bilateral and shock filters and manipulating image gradients directly, and estimates motion blur using the predicted sharp edges. Sharp edge prediction makes our method possible to deblur efficiently with less computation. Results show that our method can effectively and efficiently restore images degraded by large complex motion blur.

  • A new method for determining the motion parameters (scale, rotation, translation) of 2-D image is introduced. It employs Hough transform that maps the straight lines in the input image to the points in the Hough space (HS). This method makes use of the relations between the motion of an object in input image and the translations of peak points in the HS and thus derives relating equations about motion parameters especially when scale changes are involved. The derived equations make is efficient and simple to estimate motion parameters of input image, even if the scale parameter of input image is varied. Performance of this approach on an aircraft image is provided in detail in the presence of noise.

  • Degradation of image caused by relative motion between the object and the imaging system (like a camera with its platform) is detrimental to precision photogrammetry. Principal modes of relative motion are identified. The discussion is, however, concentrated on the systematic motions, translatory and rotatory. Various analogical approaches of compensating for the image motion are cited. An analytical-computational approach is presented. This one considers the relationship of transformation bet ween the image and the object, known as the collinearity condition. The standard forms of collinearity condition equations are presented. Augmentation of these equations with regard to both translatory and rotatory motions are expounded. With ever increasing use of high speed computers (as well as analytical plotters in the realm of photogrammetry), this approach seems to be more costeffective and seems to yield better precision in the long run than other approaches that concentrate on analogical corrections to the image itself.

  • During image-guided radiation treatment of lung cancer patients, it is necessary to track the tumor motion because it can change during treatment as a consequence of respiratory motion and cardiac motion. In this paper, we propose a method for tracking the motion of the lung tumors based on the three-dimensional image information from planning 4D MDCT and treatment 4D CBCT images. First, to effectively track the tumor motion during treatment, the global motion of the tumor is estimated based on a tumor-specific motion model obtained from planning 4D MDCT images. Second, to increase the accuracy of the tumor motion tracking, the local motion of the tumor is estimated based on the structural information of the tumor from 4D CBCT images. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we estimated the tracking results of proposed method using digital phantom. The results show that the tumor localization error of local motion estimation is reduced by 45% as compared with that of global motion estimation.

  • In the past, the image processing system is independently implemented and has a limit in its application to a degree of simple display. The scope of present image processing system is diversely extended in its application owing to the development of image processing It chips. In this paper, we implement the image processing system operated independently without PC by converting analogue image signals into digital signals. In the proposed image processing system, we extract the motion parameters from analogue image signals and generate the virtual movement to Simulator. Also we analysis the image control algorithm and operate Simulator by extracting motion parameters.

  • In the reconstruction of high resolution (HR) images from low resolution (LR) images frames, the error in the estimated motion degrades the reliability of the reconstructed HR image. Some methods were recently proposed where motion estimation and HR reconstruction is performed simultaneously. The estimated motion is still prone to error when it is based on a simple block matching. In this paper, we propose a reconstruction of a HR image by applying POCS and a regularized block matching simultaneously. In this method, a motion vector is obtained from a regularized block matching algorithm since the motion of a pixel in an image is highly correlated with the motion in neighboring regions. Experimental results show that the improved accuracy of the estimated motion vectors results in higher PSNR of the reconstructed HR images.

  • Generally a moving picture suffers from motion blur, due to relative motion between moving objects and the image formation system. The purpose of this paper is to propose teh model for the motion blur and the restoration method using the regularized iterative technique. In the proposed model, the boundary effect between moving objects and background is analyzed mathematically to overcome the limit of the spatially invariant model. And we present the motion-based image segmentation technique for the object-based image restoration, which is the modified version of the conventional segmentation method. Based on the proposed model, the restoration technique removes the motion blur by using the estimated motion parameter from the result of the segmentation.

  • Moving object detection is very important for video surveillance in modern days. In special case, we can categorize motions into two types-salient and non-salient motion. In this paper, we first calculate temporal difference image for extract moving objects and adapt to dynamic environments and next, we also propose a new algorithm to detect salient motion information in complex environment by combining temporal difference image and binary block image which is calculated by motion vector using the newest MPEG-4 and EPZS, and it is very effective to detect objects in a complex environment that many various motions are mixed.
