  • In order to predict satisfaction and performance of sensible healthcare game using motion recognition sensor, this study analyzed the effects of flow, presence and social cognitive factor and then, it attempted to verify structural relationships thereof. Self-efficacy, being a social cognitive factor, was found to affect the level of functional satisfaction of health game but it showed no direct effect to intention of using game. Flow experience was also observed to be a meaningful predictor for the level of functional and entertainment satisfaction in the direction hypothesized. It is also shown that presence exerts a direct effect on functional satisfaction. Finally, it is discovered that functional satisfaction has meaningful influence on entertainment satisfaction as well as future intention to use. The results verifies that even in sensible healthcare game, user experience and social cognitive factor have significant effects on satisfaction and performance of a serious game.

  • The digital era opens with the changing times and many parts of life has become convenient. With this convenience of living, the obesity rate of people is gradually increasing, and the necessity of exercise is emerging. However, many studies have shown that many people do not exercise or stop exercising in three to six months. In this paper, we have designed and developed a "Walking Pet" prototype, a healthcare-inspired AR game, based on the theoretical background of exercise and the precedent studies to verify these facts. The developed "Walking Pet" provides exercise data to motivate the person to exercise and apply the pet system to eventually enjoy the exercise. In order to verify the effectiveness of the "Walking Pet" prototype developed in this paper, we surveyed 100 males and females in need of health care applications and surveyed the satisfaction of pure functional aspects.

  • The game has several genres. Actions, RPGs, FPS, and simulations are diverse, and the game that flows around the story is a game genre that feels like watching a movie on the other. Internet game broadcasters can be thought of as playing a movie in a movie theater when they broadcast a story-type game. The difference with the movie theater is that you can get involved in the story by showing your play directly to viewers. As a broadcasting material, story-type games are a good means, but the fact that the story is published on the Internet in terms of game publishers can have a negative impact on sales revenue as viewers can enjoy the story without purchasing the game. The purpose of this study is to analyze the coordination status between producers and internet broadcasters for story-type games that could be copyrighted and suggest ways to move forward.

  • Recently, the game industry has been developed in a large scale, and online games and mobile games place significant weight on the game industry. This study demonstrated the results of their content production capability by age those who are randomly selected participants into three groups of elementary school, middle school, and university students to get game content production capability from them. To evaluate content production capability, a short-term training was conducted for elementary school and middle school students, and they produced contents with a little low level of completeness. University students had a long-term training several times more than that of elementary school and middle school students, and they produced contents with a higher level of completeness. This study employed evaluation methods with evaluation criteria of the same number of persons and items. Evaluation scores of 80.5 for elementary school students, 88.3 for middle school students, and 78.3 for university students were demonstrated on the basis of a maximum scale of 100 points. Thus, it is said that if a systemic professional training is performed for them to develop game potentiality from the stage of middle school students, it is possible to raise professional personnel for game content production at an early stage and highly contribute to Nation's Competitiveness.

  • If an association for a color develops and comes to form any kind of common idea, a symbolic meaning is given to the color. It is called' symbolism of color' that color builds up an abstract general idea, an emblem, feeling except things concrete. The color of game is the visual element that one can be immersed in the game, the image which act as important meaning, the attribute of light, and visual perceptional factor. With form, motion, light and shade, the color function importantly as media which express a person and person's circumstance. In game, the color is used symbolically to suggest not only mental change of character but also the situation, mood, attribute and strength of energy. These transmission of meaning express symbolism of the color iconically. So, the color for image express of game take on universality. This study research that focus on how the symbolical meaning of the color is reflected in game.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to effectively search by automatically classifying scenes in which specific images such as pitching or swing appear in baseball game images using a CNN(Convolution Neural Network) model. In addition, we propose a video scene search system that links the classification results of specific motions and game records. In order to test the efficiency of the proposed system, an experiment was conducted to classify the Korean professional baseball game videos from 2018 to 2019 by specific scenes. In an experiment to classify pitching scenes in baseball game images, the accuracy was about 90% for each game. And in the video scene search experiment linking the game record by extracting the scoreboard included in the game video, the accuracy was about 80% for each game. It is expected that the results of this study can be used effectively to establish strategies for improving performance by systematically analyzing past game images in Korean professional baseball games.

  • The imperative programming language like C language is Generally used when we develop the game program. But there is the need of much effort and time on low-level-details in order to express the game program that has complicated and varied motion. I will try to take measures to use the pure functional language, Haskell as the method of simplifying complex game program. The pure functional programming language like Haskell has excellence of technology and it has become specific in many domains. In this paper I'll discuss the difference between The two languages and merits and demerits in the game development aspect. Also discuss the possibility of putting Haskell to practical use in the future.

  • This paper presents a Soccer Game 3D Reencatment System which reenact the Important scene like getting a goal with image processing and computer graphics technologies. KBS Research Institute of Technology has developed the 3D Reenactment System of Soccer Game called ‘VPlay' to provide TV viewers with fresh images in soccer games. Vplay generates the reenactment of exciting and important soccer scenes by using computer graphics. Vplay extracts legion of players from video with color information, and then computes precise positions of players on the ground by using global motion estimation model and playground axis transformation model. The results are applied to locomotion generation module that generates the locomotion of virtual characters automatically. Using predefined motion and model library, Vplay reenacts the important scene in a quick and convenient manner Vplay was developed for live broadcasting of soccer games that demands rapid producing time and was used efficiently during past WorldCup and Asian Game.

  • When simulating large crowds, it is inevitable that the models and motions of many characters will be cloned. McDonnell et al. analyzed user's perception to find cloned characters. They established that clones of appearance are far easier to detect than motion clones. In this paper, we expand McDonnell's research[1], with the focus on multiple clones and the appearance variety in real-time game environment. Introducing the perceptual organization, we show the appearance variety of crowd clones by using game items and texture modulation. Other factors that influence the ability to detect clones were examined, such as the moving direction and distance between character clones. Our results provide novel insights and useful thresholds that will assist in creating more realistic crowds of game environments.

  • This paper presents an interactive locomotion controller using motion capture data and inverted pendulum model. Most of the data-driven character controller using motion capture data have two kinds of limitation. First, it needs many example motion capture data to generate realistic motion. Second, it is difficult to make natural-looking motion when characters navigate dynamic terrain. In this paper, we present a technique that uses dimension reduction technique to motion capture data together with the Gaussian process dynamical model (GPDM), and interpolates the low-dimensional data to make final motion. With the low-dimensional data, we can make realistic walking motion with few example motion capture data. In addition, we apply the inverted pendulum model (IPM) to calculate the root trajectory considering the real-time user input upon the dynamic terrain. Our method can be used in game, virtual training, and many real-time applications.
