용접크랙검사용 비파괴 초음파탐상 자동화검사장비 개발 (Development of Automated Non-Destructive Ultrasonic Inspection Equipment for Welding Crack Inspection)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 어셈블리 부품의 용접부 내부결함을 검사하기 위한 초음파 탐상 장비 개발에 관한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 초음파 탐상을 위하여 시스템의 모션제어 S/W, 초음파 송수신기 제어, 결함 판정 기준 설정 등의 계측 S/W 등이 설계되었으며, 양품과 불량품의 비교분석을 하기 위하여 용접결함 불량품 샘플워크 등도 제작되었다. 이와 같은 구성으로 이루어진 시스템을 통하여 어셈블리 부품 용접부의 결함 위치 및 깊이에 대한 자동검사 기능을 수행할 수 있었으며, 종전에 전문가에 의해 이루어졌던 용접부의 내부결함에 대한 판단을 시스템이 수행하도록 하였다.

A real-time multiple vehicle tracking method for traffic congestion identification

  • Traffic congestion is a severe problem in many modern cities around the world. Real-time and accurate traffic congestion identification can provide the advanced traffic management systems with a reliable basis to take measurements. The most used data sources for traffic congestion are loop detector, GPS data, and video surveillance. Video based traffic monitoring systems have gained much attention due to their enormous advantages, such as low cost, flexibility to redesign the system and providing a rich information source for human understanding. In general, most existing video based systems for monitoring road traffic rely on stationary cameras and multiple vehicle tracking method. However, most commonly used multiple vehicle tracking methods are lack of effective track initiation schemes. Based on the motion of the vehicle usually obeys constant velocity model, a novel vehicle recognition method is proposed. The state of recognized vehicle is sent to the GM-PHD filter as birth target. In this way, we relieve the insensitive of GM-PHD filter for new entering vehicle. Combining with the advanced vehicle detection and data association techniques, this multiple vehicle tracking method is used to identify traffic congestion. It can be implemented in real-time with high accuracy and robustness. The advantages of our proposed method are validated on four real traffic data.

이동 객체 추적을 위한 움직임 영역 검출 (Moving area detection for moving object tracking)

  • 본 연구에서는 이동 객체 추적 시스템의 전처리 과정으로 움직임 영역을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 연속되는 영상으로부터 시간적으로 차이가 있는 두 개의 프레임을 얻은 후 이들의 이진 차영상을 구함으로서 움직임 영역을 검출한다. 차영상을 이용하는 경우 이전 프레임에서의 객체 영역과 현재 프레임에서의 객체 영역이 모두 검출된다. 추적 시스템에서는 카메라의 이동에 따라 배경이 변화되기 때문에 어느 영역이 객체의 현재 위치인지를 결정하는 방법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 현재 프레임의 이진 에지영상을 구하고 이것을 차영상과 논리적인 AND 연산을 수행한다. 실험 결과 이동 객체의 움직임 영역을 정확히 검출할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Accompanied by the rapid development of Computer Vision, Visual surveillance has achieved great evolution with more and more complicated processing. However there are still many problems to be resolved for robust and reliable visual surveillance, and the cast shadow occurring in motion detection process is one of them. Shadow pixels are often misclassified as object pixels so that they cause errors in localization, segmentation, tracking and classification of objects. This paper proposes a novel cast shadow removal method. As opposed to previous conventional methods, which considers pixel properties like intensity properties, color distortion, HSV color system, and etc., the proposed method utilizes observations about edge patterns in the shadow region in the current frame and the corresponding region in the background scene, and applies Laplacian edge detector to the blob regions in the current frame and the background scene. Then, the product of the outcomes of application determines whether the blob pixels in the foreground mask comes from object blob regions or shadow regions. The proposed method is simple but turns out practically very effective for Gaussian Mixture Model, which is verified through experiments.

  • Accurate prediction of stochastic behavior of occupants is a well known problem for improving prediction performance of building energy use. Many researchers have been tried various sensors that have information on the status of occupant such as $CO_2$ sensor, infrared motion detector, RFID etc. to predict occupants, while others have been developed some algorithm to find occupancy probability with those sensors or some indirect monitoring data such as energy consumption in spaces. In this research, various sensor data and energy consumption data are utilized for decision tree algorithms (C4.5 & CART) for estimation of sub-hourly occupancy status. Although the experiment is limited by space (private room) and period (cooling season), the prediction result shows good agreement of above 95% accuracy when energy consumption data are used instead of measured $CO_2$ value. This result indicates potential of IoT data for awareness of indoor environmental status.

  • 본 논문은 FBG센서를 항공기 날개 내부에 설치한 CTLS항공기를 이용하여 데이터를 받아 잡음제거를 수행하였다. 잡음제거를 위하여 이동불변의 특성을 지닌 정상 웨이블릿 변환 기법을 제시하였다. CTLS와 같이 복합재 내부에 FBG센서를 설치하게 될 경우 접착제 층 사이에 크고 작은 빈공간과 미 접착부분이 생기게 되고, 신호갈라짐 (split problem) 현상이 발생하게 된다. FBG센서 자체가 전자기적 잡음에 영향을 받지 않지만 광원이나 광 검출기, 신호처리장치의 경우 전원을 사용하는 전자부품이기 때문에 이러한 전자기파의 영향을 받아 오차가 발생하게 된다. 이렇게 발생한 오차를 실험결과를 통하여 정상 웨이블릿 변환을 이용하여 잡음을 제거하고 보다 정확한 데이터 검출을 할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Robovie-R2 [1], developed by ATR, is a 110cm high, 60kg weight, two wheel drive, human like robot. It has two arms with dynamic fingers. It also has a position sensitive detector sensor and two cameras as eyes on his head for recognizing his surrounding environment. Recent years, we have carried out a project to integrate new functions into Robovie-R2 so as to make it possible to be used in a dining room in healthcare center for helping serving meal for elderly. As a new function, we have developed software system for adaptive movement control of Robovie-R2 that is primary important since a robot that cannot autonomously control its movement would be a dangerous object to the people in dining room. We used the cameras on Robovie-R2's head to catch environment images, applied our original algorithm for recognizing obstacles such as furniture or people, so as to control Roboie-R2's movement. In this paper, we will focus our algorithm and its results.

Feature Based Multi-Resolution Registration of Blurred Images for Image Mosaic

  • Existing methods for the registration of blurred images are efficient for the artificially blurred images or a planar registration, but not suitable for the naturally blurred images existing in the real image mosaic process. In this paper, we attempt to resolve this problem and propose a method for a distortion-free stitching of naturally blurred images for image mosaic. It adopts a multi-resolution and robust feature based inter-layer mosaic together. In each layer, Harris corner detector is chosen to effectively detect features and RANSAC is used to find reliable matches for further calibration as well as an initial homography as the initial motion of next layer. Simplex and subspace trust region methods are used consequently to estimate the stable focal length and rotation matrix through the transformation property of feature matches. In order to stitch multiple images together, an iterative registration strategy is also adopted to estimate the focal length of each image. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.

개량 Douglas-Peucker 알고리즘 기반 고속 Shape Matching 알고리즘 (Fast Shape Matching Algorithm Based on the Improved Douglas-Peucker Algorithm)

  • Shape Contexts Recognition(SCR)은 도형이나 사물 등의 모양을 인식하는 기술로 문자인식, 모션인식, 얼굴인식, 상황인식 등의 기반이 되는 기술이다. 하지만 일반적인 SCR은 Shape의 모든 contour에 대해 히스토그램을 만들고 Shape A, B 비교를 위해 추출된 contour를 1:1 개수대로 매핑함으로써 처리속도가 느리다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Shape 모양에 따라 윤곽선을 찾고 개량 DP 알고리즘 및 해리스코너 검출기를 이용하여 contour를 최적화시킴으로써 간략하면서도 더 효과적인 알고리즘을 만들었다. 이렇게 개선된 방법을 사용함으로써 기존방법보다 처리 수행속도가 빨라짐을 확인하였다.

특이값분해 기반 동적의료영상 재구성기법의 특징 파악을 위한 시뮬레이션 연구 (Simulation Study for Feature Identification of Dynamic Medical Image Reconstruction Technique Based on Singular Value Decomposition)

  • Positron emission tomography (PET) is widely used imaging modality for effective and accurate functional testing and medical diagnosis using radioactive isotopes. However, PET has difficulties in acquiring images with high image quality due to constraints such as the amount of radioactive isotopes injected into the patient, the detection time, the characteristics of the detector, and the patient's motion. In order to overcome this problem, we have succeeded to improve the image quality by using the dynamic image reconstruction method based on singular value decomposition. However, there is still some question about the characteristics of the proposed technique. In this study, the characteristics of reconstruction method based on singular value decomposition was estimated over computational simulation. As a result, we confirmed that the singular value decomposition based reconstruction technique distinguishes the images well when the signal - to - noise ratio of the input image is more than 20 decibels and the feature vector angle is more than 60 degrees. In addition, the proposed methode to estimate the characteristics of reconstruction technique can be applied to other spatio-temporal feature based dynamic image reconstruction techniques. The deduced conclusion of this study can be useful guideline to apply medical image into SVD based dynamic image reconstruction technique to improve the accuracy of medical diagnosis.
