  • This study aimed at identifying theirs relative importance and the factors affecting self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families. The major findings that were drawn from this study were as follows : Frist, the difference in the self-sufficiency level of their family perceived between husband and married immigrant women was not significant. But, in the level of self-sufficiency will, the level perceived by the husband was higher than it of the women significantly. Second, the hierarchical regression analysis showed that the age of the women(${\ss}=.31$) affected most significantly the self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families, followed by the labour morale of the women(${\ss}=.25$), labour morale of the husband(${\ss}=.20$), academic background of the husband(${\ss}=.19$), academic background of the women(${\ss}=.12$), spouse support level of the women toward the husband(${\ss}=.12$). Third, as a result of a hierarchical regression analysis, the self-sufficiency will variables had more explanatory power on it than social-demographic and/or social support variables. In conclusion, based on results of this study, several plans improving self-sufficiency of the rural multicultural family were suggested. Findings of this study may be used as a basic material to establish the policy supporting self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families.

It is necessary to improve salary system by upgrading to the level of salary for research officials or converting to the salary system for education officials such as professor, high school teach. The other alternative is to improve by reforming based on the tenure.

  • Poitical demand for decentralization trends in Korea has led the government to plan to localize its agricultural extension system by changing the status of 6,696 extension personnel stationed at the provincial and county level from central government status to local government status as of January 1997. However, serious drawbacks of lowered morale of extension personnel and the financial burden of local governments has not yet been debated extensively for effective personnel management. Some of the findings that emerged from both the analytical and empirical research show the dangers of decentralization such as an increase in disparities, jeopardizing stability, and undermining efficiency. These problems should be considered along with the culture, tradition, and Koreans' attitude towards central and local government. The dangers of decentralization of agricultural extension services in Korea may cause serious problems in allocative efficiency because of a mismatch between available resources and promised expenditures, and in production efficiency because of unproven cost-effective provisions of local governments. It is accepted that the central government can invest more in technology, research, development, promotion and innovation in the agricultural sector. However, changing the status of extension personnel from central government to local government status may lead the best people to leave, lower morale, shake the sense of public service, break networks, and sacrifice investment in research, development and extension. In deciding the future directions for personnel management of agricultural extension services in Korea, maintaining or reinforcing the existing national status of extension personnel should be considered along with a reflection of the basic characteristics of agricultural extension services, linkages of research and extension, the financial burden of local government, specialization of extension personnel, unnecessary duplication of investment among local governments, possible national supports to agricultural research and development, and extension under the WTO systems.

  • Background: The purpose of this survey is to determine the job and task satisfaction of physiotherapists. These are important factors because they are directly connected to both morale and work efficiency. Methods: Data was collected from March 9th, 2013 to April 15th, 2013 using self-administered questionnaires. First, Cronbach Alpha coefficient was used to evaluate date reliability. Further data analysis used mean and standard deviation to determine frequency and satisfaction for each characteristic. To determine the significance of job and task satisfaction, T-test and an analysis of variance were performed. Also, regression analysis was used to find out a relation between job satisfaction of physiotherapist and task satisfaction of orthopaedic physical therapy. Result: This survey includes results from 197 physiotherapists who engage in orthopaedic physical therapy from major, medium and small cities. The general characteristics of survey respondents include: 112 males (56.9%), 85 females (43.1%); 123 in their twenties (62.4%), 56 in their thirties (28.4%), and 18 over forty (9.1%); 156 had less than five years work experience in orthopaedics, 25 had six to ten years, and 16 had more than eleven years work experience. In the physiotherapist's job satisfaction survey (out of 5), males averaged 3.71 and females averaged 3.43. Individuals with less than five years in the career averaged 3.5, 3.69 for between 6 to 10 years in career, 3.87 for over 11 years in career; this showed a significant difference. Results of the sub-factors of job satisfaction were 3.81 for self-esteem and 3.21 for prospect of occupation. Results of task satisfaction in orthopaedic therapy showed a significant difference between 4.03 for males and 3.66 for females. For sub-factors of task satisfaction scores were 3.81 for vision, 4.29 for task adoption, and 3.57 for task recognition. Conclusion: Physiotherapists will be satisfied when their motivation to work and morale are increased by concerns such as improving the education environment, expert physiotherapist adoption issue, and medical law revision.

  • This paper attempts to develop a framework for interrelationships among human resources information systems (HRIS), outsourcing, and corporate culture. This research investigates impacts of outsourcing HRIS on corporate culture. In this paper, we hypothesize that outsourcing corporate HRIS is less appealing (1) if the quality of product and customer service matters for a firm, (2) if a firm is concerned with a loss of intellectual property, and (3) if a firm requires maintenance of a distinctive human resource service function that is capable of meeting the challenges of fast changing customer demands in a dynamic business environment. In addition, this study argues companies must be aware of the total costs associated with HRIS before outsourcing its human resource functions. Finally, the impact on employee morale and performance must also be considered By outsourcing HRIS, managers will be able to spend more time and resources dedicated to an employee's professional career development.

  • The objectives of this study were 1) to review the developmental process of agricultural extension services since 1960 in Korea, and 2) to suggest new paradigm of agricultural extension education in the 21st century. The study suggested major objectives of agricultural extension service in Korea should be focused on; 1) Agricultural technology transfer for environmentally friendly food production, 2) Diffusion of energy saving and safe farming technologies and upbringing export oriented agriculture, 3) Education and training of capable farmers for competitive world, and 4) Technological support for home improvement considering harmony of human, environment and life. To achieve major objectives of extension services the following strategies should be employed; 1) National administration and financing. 2) Farmer oriented services should be performed since extension education is originally two-way communication process to help farmers in better decision making, 3) Human resource development for extension educators to meet increasing demands of target population, and policy measures should be implemented to increase morale of extension educators, and 4) Role of public extension should be strengthened to meet needs of majority farmers and public interests in the knowledge based information society in the 21st century.

The major results and implications were as follows. 1. The positive changes in localization were to establish local special projects and to work in agricultural extension without personnel changes. 2. The negative changes in localization were increase of unnecessary work load and decrease of morale because of lowered status. 3. The development directions were to cut back unnecessary work load, to rearrange an office, and to return to the national status of extension personnels.

  • This thesis aimed at studying the development of the engineering manpower in industrial society today. In order to achieve the purpose, we must to be supported by its training to be based on the continuous government planning for the development of manpower It is proper that strategic management should be conducted for the vocational engineer training. In the view of the present situation, we dare assert that the following management should be followed ; 1. We believe that the motives of the engineer will be caused by the law of official rearing, 2. For the manager's concern, it is need for the system of accounting in the manpower to be established, 3. For the efficiency each other, it is urgent to take a trianqular position for the confidence through the value of rationalism above all mentioned words are concerned with having high morale and a normal act for the engineer.

  • Indoor noise is very important related to the morale and fighting power of the crew as well as environmental condition for them in a navel vessel. Especially, the crew members working in CIC (combat information center) and sonar equipment room require much more quiet environment condition. One of the most serious noise source in CIC is the cooling fan noise installed in the console of the combat system. Therefore, in this paper, the design of the plenum chamber is studied to reduce the noise of the fan from these consoles by numerical analysis and experiment.
