Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe problems and solutions for older adults living alone and using wearable devices to report depressive moods in daily life. In addition, gerontology nurses' competencies and strategies were discussed based on lessons learned from the observational study. Methods: A hybrid method was used, combining literature review and content analyses based on interviews with 53 participants and observations done by the research team. Results: Main issues and relevant strategies were identified in terms of (1) applicability of information and communications technology (ICT) devices for older adults, (2) feasibility of older adults' use of ICT devices, (3) integration of ICT devices into daily life, and (4) relevant issues when older adults use ICT. Important roles and competencies were discussed regarding general and gerontology aspects of ICT. Conclusion: Findings indicate that a wearable device is feasible to measure daily depressive moods in older adults living alone in community settings. To extend our research protocol to practice, gerontology nurses must adequately prepare to meet emerging health care trends and end users' needs for ICT-based nursing. It is necessary to develop diverse educational programs and active involvement in research and design of relevant devices and programs.

We propose an emotional facial avatar that portrays the user's facial expressions with an emotional emphasis, while achieving visual and behavioral realism. This is achieved by unifying automatic analysis of facial expressions and animation of realistic 3D faces with details such as facial hair and hairstyles. To augment facial appearance according to the user's emotions, we use emotional templates representing typical emotions in an artistic way, which can be easily combined with the skin texture of the 3D face at runtime. Hence, our interface gives the user vision-based control over facial animation of the emotional avatar, easily changing its moods.

This study attempts to find out the users' attitudes regarding interior design(for finishing, moods, and elements of interior design) and suggests the attitude model of interior design for the apartments, For this purpose, a field survey has been carried out with 321 households living in the apartments in Pusan. The relationships between the residents' characteristics and their attitudes toward interior design were examined in view of developing more diverse interior design alternatives for the apartments. The major findings are as follows: 1. Most residents in the apartments are interested in making diversified dwelling units and want to have diverse interior design alternatives. 2. The users' attitudes regarding interior design are significantly different according to the function of each room(master bedroom, living room kitchen, and bath room) and the household characteristics(age of housewife. income, and family life-cycle). 3. The attitude models of interior design are suggested as 3 types(6 models)according to residents' housing area and income.These findings could be used as useful data for developing diverse design alternatives to correspond with users' preferences.

Functional equations are useful in the expermental science because they play very important to formulate mathematical moods in general terms, through some not very restrictive equations, without postulating the forms of such functions. In this paper n solve one of a generalized quadratic functional equation (equation omitted) and prove the stability of this equation.

This study examined the effects of "me-model" body-size discrepancy on consumer's shopping mood, store satisfaction, and intention to revisit two types of online apparel stores (one featuring thin models and one featuring average-sized models). A convenience sample of women (n = 528) participated. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Participants who were thinner or similar to the models indicated positive shopping moods, a high level of online store satisfaction, and intended to revisit the stores when compared to participants who were larger than the models. Participants preferred the 'average-sized' model. This preference was attributed to the familiarity of the model and ability to effectively evaluate merchandise. The results revealed how models can influence apparel consumers in an online context.

Adolescence can be a time of turmoil and of stress. Rebellion against authority and against convention is to be tolerated for the sake of growth. The adolescence of children is a difficult time for parents. It is difficult to tolerate his/her manners, language, shifting moods, and constant confrontations of an adolescent child. Because of his/her egocentric thought process, he/she will be truly surprised if parents feel hurt by his/her behaviors. The parents need to learn that all these irrational behaviors fit his/her developmental phase. Adolescents have to free themselves from childhood ties with parents, establish new identification with peers, and find their own identity. The parents can be role models, maintain communication channels, and show their love while adolescents go through temporary disorganization and madness necessary for reorganization which will lead to mature human beings.

Changing demographics, changing lifestyles. An international group of architects designs the homes of the future in places diverse as USA, Japan, South America and Europe. These architecture are also challenging the traditional structure of the private house, as we know it. Many of these architects are reinterpreting the private house, challenging traditional notions of what makes house. Here, the interior and exterior surfaces are transformed into 'smart skins', which blur the distinction between the digital and the real and become a part of the daily life of the occupants. The smart house will make possible amazing things we though existed only in science fiction, guarding or welfare, guessing our moods and catering to our demands in music, movies, temperature and ambience. And new materials will further transform our living areas.

We demonstrate how social media content can be used to predict the unemployment rate, a real-world indicator. We present a novel method for predicting the unemployment rate using social media analysis based on natural language processing and statistical modeling. The system collects social media contents including news articles, blogs, and tweets written in Korean, and then extracts data for modeling using part-of-speech tagging and sentiment analysis techniques. The autoregressive integrated moving average with exogenous variables (ARIMAX) and autoregressive with exogenous variables (ARX) models for unemployment rate prediction are fit using the analyzed data. The proposed method quantifies the social moods expressed in social media contents, whereas the existing methods simply present social tendencies. Our model derived a 27.9% improvement in error reduction compared to a Google Index-based model in the mean absolute percentage error metric.

The purposes of this study was to identify the typology of clothing purchase situation considered by female students and to find out the relationship between clothing purchase situation and clothing evaluative criteria. Data were obtained from 223 female undergraduate students living in Busan, and analyzed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation, cannonical correlation and regres-sion analysis. The results were as follows; 1. There were three types of clothing purchase situation considered by female students; antecedent states were momentary moods and conditions such as depression, unpleasantness, and sufficient time, point-of·purchase situations were physical surrounding and social surround-ing such as store atmosphere and salesperson, and communication situations were consisted of catalog, advertising and usability of credit cards or installment tickets. 2. There were high the relationships between clothing purchase situations and clothing evaluative criteria. It was the communication situation that reflected the most of the clothing evaluative criteria, and extrinsic criteria that explained the most the clothing purchase situ-tions.

Objectives: Insomnia is a common disease in the general population. The purpose of this paper was to suggest that insomnia subtype of blood stasis can be effectively treated with Danggwisu-san and acupuncture. Methods: This is a clinical case report of a patient with chronic insomnia that was diagnosed with blood stasis subtype. I treated him with Danggwisu-san (Dangguixu-san) two to three times daily and with acupuncture and moxibustion two to three times weekly. Results: After short-term treatment, the patient was gradually recovering from deteriorating chronic insomnia and multiple accompanying symptoms such as severe constipation, spontaneous bleeding and edema, darkened face, depressive moods, etc. Conclusions: Results revealed a possibility that chronic insomnia subtype of blood stasis may be successfully treated with Danggwisu-san and acupuncture and moxibustion.
