  • By means of analyzing the problems in monitoring plan, design, installation, operation based on maintenance monitoring system installed in subway tunnel section, the methods of improvement were proposed for applying to subway monitoring maintenance effectively in future. The choice of the better monitoring system, the operating method of monitoring system, the confidence and continuity of maintenance monitoring, the performance of responsible monitoring supervision in the phase of the planning of monitoring and design were proposed. The problem and developed plan in the different monitoring systems, the calibration and correction of monitoring system, the analysis for the results and plan for maintenance in the phase of installation of monitoring system and operation were also proposed.

  • The number of the PV systems installed in south korea has been gradually increasing. Interest of operation & management of PV System is rising up as PV System installation trends to increase. The vital function of operation & management is the monitoring system. Most monitoring systems are only available for equipment of suppliers and manufacturers. In this study, a monitoring system was implemented to support multi-domain equipment (inverter, junction box, water distribution board, environmental sensors) that are not limited to specific manufacturers. Monitoring system includes a visualization function, which makes it easy for users to check the power generation and the operation status of the equipment of PV System. In the future, this monitoring system will be utilized as an operation & maintenance foundation element in the PV system industry.

  • Because of advanced control technology, Shop floor control system of various kinds of equipment and machinery need a web based remote monitoring to control process efficiently. This paper presents the development of Operation Control System. Operation Control System(OCS) is based on intelligent web monitoring, so that OCS is improved the working condition for the line of heat treatment process and the product's quality. The developed OCS is consisted of Atmega128(MCU) based on embedded system, running the data logging of the line of heat treatment process. Web monitoring system is based on CS8900 ethernet controller and TCP/IP for remote monitoring responsibility between a server and clients and controlling the progress of entire system. The developed OCS is implemented on the line of heat treatment process and shows the improvement of environment condition, product's quality and efficiency of process line.

  • The purpose of site monitoring and investigation is to offer the basic data for performance assessment and design of low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste(LILW) disposal facility by monitoring variations of main site properties continually in the stage of pre-operation, operation and post-closure. Main contents of site monitoring are as follows. In the stage of pre-operation, suitability evaluation for disposal facility and monitoring for constructing and operating disposal facility are performed. In the operation period, monitoring is performed including surroundings to research the influence to environment with operating disposal facility and operate safely and efficiently. In the post-closure period, monitoring about major site properties is performed to prevent the effect of radioactive waste from disposal facility and to secure long-term safety.

Calculation of the Normal Operation Rate of Monitoring Hardware in the Long Tunnels of High-Speed and Urban Railways (고속 철도와 도시철도 장대터널 계측기기의 정상 작동율 산정 연구)

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to improve smart monitoring and monitoring management technology in long tunnels by investigating and analyzing the normal operation rates of monitoring hardware in the long tunnels of high-speed and urban railways. Method: This study evaluated, analyzed, and compared the normal operation rate of 6-8 types of monitoring hardware for each long tunnel, targeting three high-speed railway lines with a long tunnel (i.e., Suseo-Pyeongtaek Line, Gyeongbu Line, and Honam Line) and two urban railway groups with a long tunnel (i.e., Seoul Metro Lines 5, 6, and 7, and 9). Result: The rank of the normal operation rate of monitoring hardware was in the order of Suseo-Pyeongtaek High-Speed Railway (92.1%), Seoul Metro Lines 5, 6, and 7 (85.8%), Seoul Metro Line 9 (85.2%), Gyeongbu High-speed Railway (80.5%), and Honam High-speed Railway (46.7%). Conclusion: The mean normal operation rate of the monitoring hardware in the three high-speed railway long tunnels was 83.4%, and that of the two urban railway long tunnels was 85.5%, indicating that the deviation between them was small. The mean normal operation rate of the monitoring hardware in the long tunnels of the five high-speed and urban railway lines was 84.2%.

  • Driverless Train Control System has been recently introduced and commercialized in Korea. It is expected that the vehicle with driverless operation system will be used in new lines such as Sinbundang line soon. Therefore it is necessary to change the system operation and conception of the existing train operation system and the necessity of driverless vehicle monitoring system meeting a new paradigm is rising. In order to dispel concerning about safety issues caused by driverless train operation, the importance to establish vehicle error detection, useful fault diagnosis and rapid action plans is higher than ever. For this, efficient and higher level of vehicle supervision & control system should be essentially supported. In this study, remote driverless vehicle monitoring system using by radio communication is suggested to be used for monitoring and controlling important parts of the vehicle and diagnose and take quick actions when vehicles are in trouble at control tower at real time.

  • The monitoring system for integrated management of on-site wastewater treatment plants(biofilter) was designed and its operation program was developed. In design process, the research on monitoring parameters which will be able to represent condition and operation of the pilot plants was accomplished, and these parameters came to reveal with ORP(Oxidation-Reduction Potential), water level, pump and power on/off. Proposed monitoring system is composed with measurement, control, communication and display device, and PCB(Prototype Circuit Boards) and microcontroller (PIC16F877) technique are applied to its design of control device for performing specific function. also, The operation program of PC setup is developed in order to provide a convenience to the manager.

  • Safety operation of main pipelines is primarily provided by anticorrosive monitoring. Anticorrosive monitoring of oil pipeline transportation objects is based on results of complex corrosion inspections, analysis of basic data including design data, definition of a corrosion residual rate and diagnostic of general equipment's technical condition. All the abovementioned arrangements are regulated by normative documents. For diagnostics of corrosion-technical condition of oil pipeline transportation objects one presently uses different methods such as in-line inspection using devices with ultrasonic, magnetic or another detector, acoustic-emission diagnostics, electrometric survey, general external corrosion diagnostics and cameral processing of obtained data. Results of a complex of diagnostics give a possibility: $\cdot$ to arrange a pipeline's sectors according to a degree of corrosion danger; $\cdot$ to check up true condition of pipeline's metal; $\cdot$ to estimate technical condition and working ability of a system of anticorrosive protection. However such a control of corrosion technical condition of a main pipeline creates the appearance of estimation of a true degree of protection of an object if values of protective potential with resistive component are taken into consideration only. So in addition to corrosive technical diagnostics one must define a true residual corrosion rate taking into account protective action of electrochemical protection and true protection of a pipeline one must at times. Realized anticorrosive monitoring enables to take a reasonable decision about further operation of objects according to objects' residual life, variation of operation parameters, repair and dismantlement of objects.
