Vacuum deposited 4,4',4''-tris(N-(1-naphthyl)-N-phenylamino)-triphenylamine (1-TNATA), a widely-used semiconductor material, is placed as a thin interlayer between indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode and a hole transporting layer (HTL) in OLEDs and a well-stacked 1-TNATA layer leads to stable and high efficiency devices by reducing the carrier injection barrier at the interface between the ITO anode and hole transport layers. According to Raman spectra, thermal annealing after deposition as well as electromagnetic field treatment during deposition lead to closer stacking of 1-TNATA molecules and resulted in molecular ordering. By thermal annealing at about $110^{\circ}C$, an increase in current flow through the film by over 25% was observed. Molecularly-ordered 1-TNATA films played an important role in achieving higher luminance efficiency as well as higher power efficiency of the multi-layered organic EL devices in the present work. Electromagnetic field treatment during deposition was less effective compared to thermal annealing
A new gas-chromatographic method for determining carbon and hydrogen in organic compounds has been developed. After sample combustion was performed in a regular analytical combustion tube with an internal oxidant (a mixture of silver oxide and manganese dioxide) under a helium flow, the water produced was converted to acetylene by passing through a calcium carbide tube. The carbon dioxide and acetylene were trapped by a molecular sieve 5A column at room temperature. The trapped gases were released under programmed temperature raise up to $340^{\circ}C$ and the released gases were passed through a silica gel column. The adsorption of $CO_2$ and $C_2H_2$ in the molecular sieve 5A trapping column were found to be quantitative and the silica gel column showed an excellent resolution of $CO_2$ and $C_2H_2$ for analytical purpose. The analytical results for various known compounds based on the out-put of the thermal conductivity cell calibrated for the amounts of carbon and hydrogen contents in benzoic acid, showed average errors ${\pm}0.5%$ and ${\pm}0.33%$ for carbon and hydrogen, respectively.

In this study, some experimental results of the peroxide-degradation process of polypropylene(PP) in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder to produce controlled rheology polypropylene(CRPP) are presented. The peroxide was dicumyl peroxide(DCP) and the concentration of DCP was in the range 0-0.3 wt%. It was found that the rheological properties of PP change significantly during reactive extrusion. Melt flow index(MFI) increased with DCP concentration. Intrinsic viscosity decreases with increasing DCP concentration. From dynamic rheological data, number average molecular weight(Mn), weight average molecular weight(Mn) and molecular weight distribution(MWD) were calculated. Results indicated that Mw decreases and MWD becomes narrower with increasing peroxide concentration. Especially, particle size distribution of CRPP decreases with increasing DCP concentration by chemical powdering process, and anti-slip floor paint, CRPP(DCP 0.2 wt%) powder by 10phr was friction coefficient 2.15 ${\mu}$, abrasion resistance 511.18%.
An extracellular protease of Salmonella schottmulleri was purified from culture filtrate by using 0-75% ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE Sepharose Fast Flow ion exchange chromatography, Ultrogel HA chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 HR molecular sieve chromatography. To measure enzyme activity, synthetic dipeptide substrate (CBZ-arg-arg-AFC) with low molecular weight was employed as substrate. The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was approximately 80 kDa when determined by gel filtration on Sephacryl S-200 HR and 73 kDa when estimated by SDS-PAGE. The isoelectric point was 5.45. The activity of the purified enzyme was inhibited by metal chelating agesnts such as EDTA and 1.10-phenanthroline. The divalent cations, such as Ca$\^$2+/, Zn$\^$2+/, Fe$\^$2+/, Mg$\^$2+/ enhanced its activity. These results suggested that it was a metalloprotease. It had a narrow pH optimum of 6.5-7.5 with a maximum at pH 7.0 and a temperature optimum of 40.deg.C. It was stable at least for 1 week at 40.deg.C and maintained its activity for 24 hours at 50.deg.C, but it was rapidly inactivated at 65.deg.C. This protease was shown to be sensitive to sodium 50.deg.C, but it was rapidly inactivated at 65.deg.C. This protease was shown to be sensitive to sodium 50.deg.C, but it was rapidly inactivated at 65.deg.C. This protease was shown to be sensitive to sodium 50.deg.C, but it was rapidly inactivated at 65.deg.C. This protease was shown to be sensitive to sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and was inactivated in a dose-dependent manner. However, it was resistant to Triton X-100 and the activity was enhanced to 32.3% with treatment of 0.025% Triton X-100.

This study aimed to analyze a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separation using a pentafluorophenyl column of parent drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and its active metabolite, desethylhydroxchloroquine (DHCQ) applying to determine bioequivalence of two different formulations administered to patients. A rapid, simple, sensitive and specific liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method has been developed and validated for bioanalysis of HCQ and its metabolite DHCQ in human whole blood using deuterium derivative $hydroxychloroquine-D_4$ as an internal standard (IS). A triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer was operated using electrospray ionization in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. Sample preparation involves a two-step precipitation of protein techniques. The removed protein blood samples were chromatographed on a pentafluorophenyl (PFP) column ($50mm{\times}4.6mm$, $2.6{\mu}m$) with a mobile phase (ammonium formate solution containing dilute formic acid) in an isocratic mode at a flow rate of 0.45 mL/min. The standard curves were found to be linear in the range of 2 - 500 ng/mL for HCQ; 2 - 2,000 ng/mL for DHCQ in spite of lacking a highly sensitive MS spectrometry system. Results of intra- and inter-day precision and accuracy were within acceptable limits. A run time of 2.2 min for HCQ and 2.03 min for DHCQ in blood sample facilitated the analysis of more than 300 human whole blood samples per day. Taken together, we concluded that the assay developed herein represents a highly qualified technology for the quantification of HCQ in human whole blood for a parallel design bioequivalence study in a healthy male.
Despite evidence that bacteria-sensing Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are activated in salivary gland tissues of Sjogren syndrome (SS) patients, the role of oral bacteria in SS etiopathogenesis is unclear. We previously reported that two SS-associated oral bacteria, Prevotella melaninogenica (Pm) and Rothia mucilagenosa (Rm), oppositely regulate the expression of major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC I) in human salivary gland (HSG) cells. Here, we elucidated the mechanisms underlying the differential regulation of MHC I expression by these bacteria. The ability of Pm and Rm to activate TLR2, TLR4, and TLR9 was examined using TLR reporter cells. HSG cells were stimulated by the TLR ligands, Pm, and Rm. The levels of MHC I expression, bacterial invasion, and viability of HSG cells were examined by flow cytometry. The hypoxic status of HSG cells was examined using Hypoxia Green. HSG cells upregulated MHC I expression in response to TLR2, TLR4, and TLR9 activation. Both Pm and Rm activated TLR2 and TLR9 but not TLR4. Rm-induced downregulation of MHC I strongly correlated with bacterial invasion and cell death. Rm-induced cell death was not rescued by inhibitors of the diverse cell death pathways but was associated with hypoxia. In conclusion, Pm upregulated MHC I likely through TLR2 and TLR9 activation, while Rm-induced hypoxia-associated cell death and the downregulation of MHC I, despite its ability to activate TLR2 and TLR9. These findings may provide new insight into how oral dysbiosis can contribute to salivary gland tissue damage in SS.
The author's theory for plastic deformation was applied to superplastic alloys (Zn-Al eutectoid, Al-Cu, Pb-Sn, Sn-Bi, Mg-Al eutectics). The plastic deformation of the superplastic alloys could be described by two Maxwell models connected in parallel which represent two grain boundary flow units. The flow units are characterized by the two parameters $X_{gj}/{\alpha}_{gj}\;and\;{\beta}_{gj}$ (j=l or 2, g signifies the grain boundary) the values of which were obtained by applying our flow equation [Eq. (5)] to experiment. We confirmed that our flow equation describes the superplasticity very well. The curve of strain rate sensitivity m (=${\partial}\;In\;f/{\partial}\;In\;\dot{s})\;vs.\;-In\dot{s}$, where f and s are stress and strain rate, respectively, showed two peaks corresponding to flow unit gl and g2, the separation of the two peaks is determined by the difference between ${\beta}_{g1}\;and\;{\beta}_{g2}$. The condition of superplasticity is also determined by ${\beta}_{gj}$, which satisfies $\dot{s}_{mj}{\leqslant}1.53}{\beta}_{gj}$ [Eq.(13)], where $\dot{s}_{mj}$ is the s of the jth unit at the peak. The grain size dependence of ${\beta}_{gj}$ is described by $ln({\beta}_{gj})^{-1}$=alnx+b [Eq. (16)], where x is the grain size, and a and b are constants. The activation enthalpy for each flow unit, ${\Delta}H_{gj}^{\neq}$ was also determined from the temperature dependence of ${\beta}_{gj}$ which is proportional to the relaxation time of the j th unit. Since the superplasticity is determined by Eq. (13), and since ${\beta}_{gj}$ and ${\Delta}H_{gj}^{\neq}$ are related, we obtained the conclusion that superplasticity occurs in the system having small ${\Delta}H_{gj}^{\neq}$ values. The Aej values were equal to the activation enthalpies of grain boundary self-diffusion of the component atoms of the alloys, this accords with our proposed flow mechanism. The ${\Delta}H_{gj}^{\neq}$ value increases with grain size as expected from Eq. (16).
In order to elucidate the plastic deformation of solids, the following assumptions were made: (1) the plastic deformation of solids is classified into two main types, the one which is caused by dislocation movement and the other caused by grain boundary movement, each movement being restricted on a different shear surface, (2) the dislocation movement is expressed by a mechanical model of a parallel connection of various kinds of Maxwell dislocation flow units whereas the grain boundary movement is also expressed by a parallel connection of various kinds of Maxwell grain boundary flow units; the parallel connection in each type of movements indicates that all the flow units on each shear surface flow with the same shear rate, (3) the latter model for grain boundary movement is connected in series to the former for dislocation movement, this means physically that the applied stress distributes homogeneously in the flow system while the total strain rate distributes heterogeneously on the two types of shear planes (dislocation or grain boundary shear plane), (4) the movement of dislocation flow units and grain boundary units becomes possible when the atoms or molecules near the obstacles, which hinder the movement of flow units, diffuse away from the obstacles.Using the above assumptions in conjunction with the theory of rate processes, generalized equations of shear stress and shear rate for plastic deformation were derived. In this paper, four cases important in practice were considered.ted N${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$O hydrogen bond and the second of two normal N${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$O hydrogen bonds, both of which exist between the amino group and the perchlorate, groups. A p-phenylenediamine group is approximately planar within an experimental error and bonded to twelve perchlorates: ten perchlorates forming hydrogen bonds and two being contacted with the van der Waals forces. A perchlorate group is surrounded by six p-phenylenediamines and four perchlorates; among the six p-phenylenediamines, five of them are hydrogen-bonded, and the rest contacted with the van der Waals force.

The heat transfer characteristics of the drag reducing polymer solutions are investigated experimentally in the thermal entrance region of circular tube flows. Fluids used in experiments are the aqueous solutions of high molecular polymer, polyacrylamide Separan AP-273 and the range of polymer concentrations is from 20 to 1000 wppm. Two stainless steel tubes with inside diameter 8.5mm(L/D=712) and 10.3mm(L/D=1160) are used for the heat transfer flow loops. The flow loop is set up to measure friction factors and heat transfer coefficients of test sections in two different modes; the recirculating flow system and once-through flow system. The test tubes are heated directly by electricity to apply the constant heat flux boundary conditions to the wall. Three different types of adaptors are used to observe the effects of the upstream flow conditions of the heat transfer test sections. The viscosity and characteristic relaxation time of the test fluids circulating in the flow system are measured by the capillary tube viscometer and falling ball viscometer at regular time intervals. The installed adaptors exhibit slight effect on the entrance heat transfer of Newtonian fluid. However, no noticeable effects are observed for the entrance heat transfer of the drag reducing fluids. The order of magnitude of the thermal entrance lengths of the drag reducing fluids which follow the minimum friction asymptote is much longer than that of Newtonian fluids in turbulent flows. A new dimensionless parameter, the viscoelastic Graetz number, is defined and all the experimental data are recasted in terms of the viscoelastic Graetz number. The local Nusselt number of the viscoelastic fluids is represented as a function of flow behavior index n and the viscoelastic Graetz number. As degradation continues the viscosity and the characteristic relaxation time of the testing fluids decrease. Weissenberg number defined by the relaxation time and D/V appears to be a proper dimensionless parameter in describing degradation effects on heat transfer of the viscoelastic fluids.

In this paper, experimental investigations were carried out to remove NOx, SOx simultaneously from a simulated combustion flue gas [$NO(0.02%)-SO_2(0.08%)-CO_2-Air-N_2$] by using a pulse corona induced plasma chemical processing. Discharge domain of wire-cylindrical plasma reactor was separated from a gas flow duct to avoid unstable discharge by aerosol particle deposited on discharge electrode and grounded electrode. The NOx, SOx removal was experimentally investigated by a reaction induced to ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate using a low price of aqueous NaOH solution and a small quantity of ammonia. Volume percentage of aqueous NaOH solution used was 20% and $N_2$ flow rate was $2.5{\ell}/min$ for bubbling aqueous NaOH solution. Ammonia gas(l4.82%) balanced by argon was diluted by air and was introduced to a main simulated flue gas duct through $NH_3$ injection system which was in downstream of reactor. The $NH_3$ molecular ratio(MR) was determined based on [$NH_3$] and [$NO+SO_2$]. MR is 1.5. The NOx removal rates increased in the order of DC, AC and pulse, but SOx removal rates was not significantly effected by source of electricity. The NOx removal rate slightly decreased with increasing initial concentration. but SOx removal rate was not significantly affected by initial concentration. The NOx, SOx removal rates decreased with increasing gas flow rate.
