내압력.온도센서를 갖는 표준 인장시편용 사출금형설계 및 성형 (Design of Injection Mold with Cavity Pressure/Temperature Sensors and Molding for Standard Tensile Test Specimen)

  • Design and manufacturing of plastic injection mold with cavity pressure/temperature sensors were performed in the present study for tensile test specimen. Standards of mold-base and tensile test specimen were used to design an injection molding system. Cavity pressure and temperature sensors were placed on the side of fixed platen of injection mold machine to prevent them from external impact damage. Injection molding experiments with variations of injection speed and melt temperature were performed and polycarbonate tensile specimens were prepared for the tensile test. It was shown that injection molding processing parameters can have effect on the mechanical properties of the plastic injection molded part.

모바일폰 커버의 휨특성 평가를 위한 사출 성형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Plastic Injection Molding for Warpage Characteristics Evaluation of Mobile Phone Cover)

  • In this study, warpage characteristics of mobile phone cover through injection molding process were investigated using design of experiments in injection molding process. Warpage in plastic injection molding has a significant effect on quality of product. Effects of injection time, packing pressure, packing time, mold temperature and melt temperature on the warpage of mobile phone cover were considered by numerical analysis and experiment with Taguchi method. The degree of warpage for the injection molded part was measured by using three dimensional coordinate measurement machine. It was shown that temperature control factor has more significant effect on the warpage of mobile phone cover than pressure control factor.

효과적인 웰드라인 제어를 위한 사출성형 유동해석 (Flow Analysis for an Effective Weld Line Control in Injection Molding)

  • Weld line is one of serious troubles which are observed in a plastic part manufactured by a injection molding process. This is caused by many process factors, which are molding pressure, temperature, velocity, location of a injection gate, mold geometry and material properties. investigation on the effects of these process factors to the appearance of a weld line was carried out using a finite element method. Filling and packing analyses were carried out by modifying both the configuration of the injection gates and cavity thickness. Proper locations of the injection gates could be determined by considering molding pressure, temperature, velocity and frozen layer, and whereby the weld line was controled. In order to make a weak appearance of the weld line, flow velocity and flow front in a cavity were also investigated by modifying a cavity thickness. As a result, flow front was extended around the corner in the cavity by changing the flow velocity and hence the appearance of the weld line was much weakened.

  • In recent years, compression molding of long fiber-reinforced thermoplastics has been increased in commercial aspects. In the process of compression molding of composites, the flow analysis must be developed in order to accurately predict the finished part properties as a function of the molding process parameters. In this model FRTP is assumed to be nonisothermal fluid, which has different viscosities in extensional and in shear. For verification of the model, the formation of a knit line in the L-shaped parts is compared with that of experiments results. In this paper we will discuss the effects of extensional & shear viscosity ratio and slip parameter $\alpha$ on the other modle fill-ing parameters.

  • Transfer Molding is currently the most widely used process for encapsulation integrated circuits(;IC). Although the process has been introduced over 20 years ago, generating billions of parts each year, it is far from being optimized. With each new mold, epoxy mold, epoxy mold compound, and lead-frame, lengthy period and expensive qualification runs have to be performed to minimized defects ranging from wire sweep, incomplete fill, and internal voids etc. This studies describes how simulation can be applied to transfer molding to yield acceptable design and processing parameter. The non-isothermal filling of non-newtonian reactive epoxy molding compound(;EMC) in a multi-cavity mold is analyzed. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to investigate the influence of process deviations on the final molded profile. This study trend is carried out by following some heuristic process guidelines.

  • The demand for the miniaturization and high-precision of machine part has recently increased in new technology like biotechnology(BT) and nanotechnology(NT). The purpose of this study is to analyze the molding characteristics according to injection conditions by measuring the filling height in micro injection molding of the polypropylene(PP) and cyclic olefin copolymer(COC). The result shows that the filling effect of COC is better than that of PP in micro rib structure with injection molding process.

박스형태 제품의 가스사출성형 (Gas-Assisted Injection Molding for Box Shape Molded Parts)

  • This study focuses on part quality and cycle times under gas-assisted injection molding (GIM) of box shape molded parts. The position of the gas channel was established near to parting line at the end of last locations to fill. Applied hot runner and valve gates, the gas was introduced directly into the mold cavity via gas pin. As GIM was applied, the conclusion reached as follows. I) The quality of appearance was improved by reducing sink marks and scratches of texture. ii) The reliability was improved by preventing warpages and reinforcing rigidity through optimum gas channel layout. iii) It is enable to use small size of injection molding machine step by step as GIM was accomplished low pressure and reduced clamp forces against CIM. iv) The productivity were improved by reducing cycle times.

  • 플라스틱 사출성형은 원재료를 한 번의 가공으로 최종 제품을 만들 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 사출성형을 위해서는 금형의 설치, 플라스틱 수지의 용융, 용융수지의 사출, 성형품의 취출 등을 위하여 사출성형기는 반드시 필요하다. 사출성형기는 여러 가지 방법으로 구분되는데, 본 연구는 현재 국내 A사에서 생산되고 있는 토글식 사출성형기를 대상으로 한다. 연구내용으로는 사출성형기의 여러 부품 및 주요한 플레이트에 대하여 3차원 모델링을 실시하고, 3차원 캐드상에서 조립하여 사출성형기의 전체 구조를 파악하였다. 그리고 에너지 및 생산비 절감을 위하여 주요 플레이트에 대하여 유한요소법을 이용하여 사출압력과 형체력 적용시의 플레이트에 발생하는 스트레스와 변위를 분석하고, 그 결과를 토대로 플레이트를 개선하였다. 개선된 플레이트를 대상으로 유한요소 재해석을 통하여 고정플레이트는 약 2.7%, 이동 플레이트는 약 3.5%, 테일 스톡은 약 6.9%의 중량 감소 결과를 확인하였다.

사출성형 공정에서의 통합정비방법에 관한 연구 (An Integrated Maintenance in Injection Molding Processes)

  • Recently as the manufacturers want competitiveness in dynamically changing environment, they are trying a lot of efforts to be efficient with their production systems, which may be achieved by diminishing unplanned operation stops. The operation stops and maintenance cost are known to be significantly decreased by adopting proper maintenance strategy. Therefore, the manufacturers were more getting interested in scheduling of exact maintenance scheduling to keep smooth operation and prevent unexpected stops. In this paper, we proposedan integrated maintenance approach in injection molding manufacturing line. It consists of predictive and preventive maintenance approach. The predictive maintenance uses the statistical process control technique with the real-time data and the preventive maintenance is based on the checking period of machine components or equipment. For the predictive maintenance approach, firstly, we identified components or equipment that are required maintenance, and then machine parameters that are related with the identified components or equipment. Second, we performed regression analysis to select the machine parameters that affect the quality of the manufactured products and are significant to the quality of the products. By this analysis, we can exclude the insignificant parameters from monitoring parameters and focus on the significant parameters. Third, we developed the statistical prediction models for the selected machine parameters. Current models include regression, exponential smoothing and so on. We used these models to decide abnormal patternand to schedule maintenance. Finally, for other components or equipment which is not covered by predictive approach, we adoptedpreventive maintenance approach. To show feasibility we developed an integrated maintenance support system in LabView Watchdog Agent and SQL Server environment and validated our proposed methodology with experimental data.

Kalman Filter를 이용한 사출성형 제품의 품질 분류에 대한 연구 (A Study on Quality Classification of Injection Molding Process by Kalman Filter)

  • 생산 시스템의 신뢰도와 공정에서의 품질관리는 수익과 직결되는 중요한 요소이다. 이런 이유로 M2M 디바이스 레벨에서 데이터를 획득하는 방법 그리고 그것을 응용하여 신뢰도 및 품질 등과 연결하는 연구에서 최근 많은 성과를 보이고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 연구 결과의 연장으로 획득한 데이터의 처리방법과 결과에 관한 것이다. 일반적으로, 센서 데이터와 같은 미세한 차이를 가지는 신호를 이용하여 제품의 품질을 식별하는 것은 기존의 통계적인 방법에서는 어렵다. 그러나 최근 기계 공정에서 정보를 실시간적이고 즉시적으로 처리를 해야 하는 요구가 증대되고 있다. 특히 사출성형 공정의 경우 프로세스가 짧은 Cycle 갖고 있어 프로세스의 진행과 동시에 제품의 양-불량을 판별할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 Kalman Filter를 적용하여 사출공정의 센서 데이터를 실시간적으로 처리하여 제품의 상태를 판단할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.
