비전도성 충진액을 포함하는 전동워터펌프 열 해석 모델 (Thermal analysis model for electric water pumps with non-conductive cooling liquid)

  • As the consumer market in the eco-friendly vehicle industry grows, the demand for water pump in a electric car parts market. This study intend to propose a mathematical model that can verify the effect of improving thermal properties when a non-conductive cooling filler liquid is introduced into an electric vehicle water pump. Also, the pros and cons of the immersion cooling method and future development way were suggested by analyzing the cooling characteristics using on the derived analysis solution. Thermal characteristics analysis of electric water pump applied with non-conductive filler liquid was carried out, and the diffusion boundary condition in the motor body and the boundary condition the inside pump were expressed as a geometric model. As a result of analyzing the temperature change for the heat source of the natural convection method and the heat conduction method, the natural convection method has difficulty in dissipating heat because no decrease in temperature due to heat release was found even after 300 sec. Also, it can be seen that the heat dissipation effect was obtained even though the non-conductive filling liquid was applied at the 120 sec and 180 sec in the heat conduction method. It has proposed to minimize thermal embrittlement and lower motor torque by injecting a non-conductive filler liquid into the motor body and designing a partition wall thickness of 2.5 mm or less.

  • The conventional FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) manufacturing process used thermoset resins for ease of molding but faced the issue of non-recyclability. To address these shortcomings, a new process utilizing thermal plastic resin was developed. However, due to the high viscosity of thermal plastic resin, problems such as fiber deformation and a reduced fiber volume fraction occurred during the high-temperature, high-pressure process. In this study, to overcome the limitations of the conventional process, fiber-reinforced composite materials were manufactured through in-situ polymerization using PLA (Poly L-Lactide) resin in the VA-RTM (Vacuum Assistance Resin Transfer Molding) process. The fiber volume of the produced specimens was calculated, and resin impregnation and porosity were confirmed through optical microscopy. Additionally, molecular weight analysis using GPC (Gel Permission Chromatography) demonstrated improvements over the conventional process and emphasized the essential requirement of temperature control.

  • Injection molding is a process widely used across various industries for molding plastics, and it is the most commonly applied process in root industries utilizing molds. Among the different types of injection molding, insert injection molding, where busbars are used as inserts, is increasingly being applied in the electric vehicle industry. However, currently, the insert injection molding process is manually performed, with workers placing insert components by hand before injection molding. This results in issues related to productivity, safety, and quality. Additionally, there is a growing demand for automation of such production lines due to hazardous working conditions, economic difficulties in the manufacturing industry, and the decline in the labor force caused by an aging population. This study focuses on the application of an automated system for the insert injection molding process used in electric vehicles. The development of an automated system for the transport and insertion of insert components, as well as the inspection and stacking processes after injection, has resulted in over a 25% improvement in productivity and more than a 27% reduction in defect rates.

각주형 부품상의 가공 특징형상 인식 (Recognition of Machining Features on Prismatic Components)

  • 본 연구는 각주형 금형부품을 절삭가공할때 부품의 설계데이터로부터 부품의 형상적인 특징을 추출하여 공정설계시스템인 MOLDCAPP과 작업설계시스템인 COPS에서 사용할 수 있는 정보를 생성함으로써 CAD/CAM의 연결을 자동화할 수 있는 특징형상 인식 시스템을 개발하는 연구로, 특징형상 인식기법의 창안보다는, 가용한 기술의 장 점을 사용하여 각주형 공작물의 기계 절삭가공으로 생성될 수 있는 형상을 특징형상으 로 정의하고 ACIS로 설계된 CAD데이터로부터 정의된 특징형상을 추출하여 각 특징형상 들의 형상 데이터를 결정함으로써 MOLDCAPP, COPS 등의 공절설계시스템의 입력데이터 를 생성할 수 있도록 Fig.1과 같이 설계하였다. 특히 PART시스템과 같이 인식대상이 포괄적이지 않으나, 금형부품상의 특징형상으로 범위를 축소하고 금형부품의 가공특징 을 고려하여 인식규칙을 단순화함으로써 금형가공공정의 CAD/CAM연결에 이용될 수 있도록 하였다.

  • The aim of this paper is to design the blank shape of SPFH 590 high strength steel for stamping of the center hinge of automotive via numerical analyses and experiments for multi-stages transfer forming process. Three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element analyses for the transfer forming process with six stages were performed using a commercial code AUTOFORM V4.2. The influence of the blank shape on the formability and the shape conformity were quantitatively examined through the FE analyses. From the results of the FE analysis, a feasible shape of the blank and the forming load were estimated. Stamping experiments were carried out using the proposed blank shape. The results of experiments were shown that the center hinge parts with the desired shapes can be manufactured successfully as the proposed blank shape is used. Through the comparison of the results of the experiments with those of the analyses, it was shown that the estimation of blank shape using the FE analysis is a proper methodology to create a feasible shape of the blank for the center hinge of automotive.

친환경 소재로 형성된 듀얼 펌프캡 용기의 낙하충격 시뮬레이션 분석 (An analysis on the drop impact simulation of dual pump cap container made of eco-friendly materials)

  • Pump cap is a product that is widely used due to its ease of use and simple operation. These pump caps are applied to heterogeneous functional cosmetics and are being developed as dual pump caps. However, the conventional dual pump cap has a problem in that it is inconvenient to use and leakage occurs. In addition, it is formed of a plurality of materials, and there is a problem that is difficult to recycle. Lately, since the problem of environmental pollution is getting serious, the dual pump cap, which is difficult to recycle, cannot be used. Currently, eco-friendliness has been considered in Korea, and there are no dual pump cap containers with excellent sealing performance. Therefore, in this study, a dual pump cap container made of eco-friendly material was designed. In addition, finite element analysis was performed to verify the design feasibility of the product.

표면균열무해화 기법에 의한 SKD61의 신뢰성 향상 (Improving Reliability of SKD61 Using Nondamaging Technology)

  • Using the fatigue limit (△σunsm) and residual stress (σr) of the UNSM smooth specimen, the harmless maximum crack depth (αhml) according to the crack aspect ratio (As) was evaluated. αhml evaluated the reliability in the relationship between the minimum crack depth (αNDI1, αNDI2) detectable by nondestructive inspection(NDI) and the crack depth (α25, α50) that reduces the fatigue limit by 25% and 50%. All αhml was determined by the crack depth. The αhml of 80N UNSM with high σr and high △σunsm was found to be large. σr in the depth direction had a much effect on αhml. Since αhml50(As=0.6-0.1) and αhml25, α25 and α50(some range) can secure the safety and reliability. Since αhml50 (As=1. 0-0. 6), it cannot be made harmless by UNSM. So safety and reliability cannot be secured. αNDI1 and αNDI2 are larger than α25, α25 cannot be detected by NDI. αNDI1 and αNDI2 are smaller than α50, α25 can detected by NDI.

고강성 경량 MHEV 배터리 하우징 성형기술개발을 위한 섬유강화 플라스틱 발포 사출 시험편의 기계적 물성평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mechanical Properties Evaluation of Fiber-reinforced Plastic Cellular Injection-molded Specimens for the Development of High-strength Lightweight MHEV Battery Housing Molding Technology)

  • The fiber-reinforced plastics and cellular injection molding process can be used to efficiently reduce the weight of battery housing components of mild hybrid electronic vehicles(MHEV) made of metal. However, the fiber orientation of fiber-reinforced plastics and the growth of foaming cells are intertwined during the injection molding process, so it is difficult to predict the mechanical properties of products in the design process. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the mechanical properties of the materials prior to the efficient stiffness design of the target product. In this study, a study was conducted to evaluated the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced cellular injection-molded specimens. Two types of fiber-reinforced plastics that can be used in the target product were evaluated for changes in tensile properties of cellular injection-molded specimens depending on the foaming ratio and position from the injection gate. The PP and PA66 specimens showed a decrease of tensile modulus and strength of approximately 30% and 17% depending on the foaming ratio, respectively. Also, the tensile strength decreased approximately 26% and 17% depending on the position from the injection gate, respectively. As a result, it was confirmed that the PP specimens have a significantly mechanical property degradation compared to the PA66 specimens depending on the foaming ratio and position.

CAE 해석을 통한 500 ml 경량 사각 PET병의 형상 최적화 (A Study on Geometric Optimization of a 500 ml Lightweight Square PET Bottle with CAE Analysis)

  • Lightweight of plastic containers is becoming an important issue due to increasing environmental legislation and consumer awareness. In this study, the CAE analysis was conducted to optimize the shape of a 500 ml lightweight square polyethylene terephthalate(PET) bottle. First, the linear buckling alaysis using the finite element method was performed to analyze the correlation between the primary geometric parameters of the bottle and the buckling critical load. Then, the optimal geometry parameters were derived, and the actual buckling load was predicted by non-linear buckling simulation. The validity of the simulation results was verified by top-loading tests of PET bottles molded with the optimized geometry. The elastic modulus and tensile yield strength of PET through tensile tests were measured to improve the accuracy of the simulation. As a result of the tensile tests, the modulus of elasticity of PET increased from 2,900 MPa to 4,275 MPa, and the tensile yield strength increased from 52.4 MPa to 88.1 MPa. Finally the buckling load of the optimized PET bottle was found to be approximately 236 N, which is very similar to the simulation precition of 238 N. This study shows the feasibility and accuracy of the CAE analysis approach for the lightweight design of PET bottles, and will provide useful guidelines for the design of PET bottles.

사출성형공정에서 CAE 기반 품질 데이터와 실험 데이터의 통합 학습을 통한 인공지능 품질 예측 모델 구축에 대한 연구 (A study on the construction of the quality prediction model by artificial neural intelligence through integrated learning of CAE-based data and experimental data in the injection molding process)

  • In this study, an artificial neural network model was constructed to convert CAE analysis data into similar experimental data. In the analysis and experiment, the injection molding data for 50 conditions were acquired through the design of experiment and random selection method. The injection molding conditions and the weight, height, and diameter of the product derived from CAE results were used as the input parameters for learning of the convert model. Also the product qualities of experimental results were used as the output parameters for learning of the convert model. The accuracy of the convert model showed RMSE values of 0.06g, 0.03mm, and 0.03mm in weight, height, and diameter, respectively. As the next step, additional randomly selected conditions were created and CAE analysis was performed. Then, the additional CAE analysis data were converted to similar experimental data through the conversion model. An artificial neural network model was constructed to predict the quality of injection molded product by using converted similar experimental data and injection molding experiment data. The injection molding conditions were used as input parameters for learning of the predicted model and weight, height, and diameter of the product were used as output parameters for learning. As a result of evaluating the performance of the prediction model, the predicted weight, height, and diameter showed RMSE values of 0.11g, 0.03mm, and 0.05mm and in terms of quality criteria of the target product, all of them showed accurate results satisfying the criteria range.
