설계 과정 모델링 기법을 적용한 금형 설계 (Application of Design Process Modeling for Mold Design)

  • The objective of design process modeling is a systematic support of rapid redesign process fur a modified input data. The design process modeling is realized by storing key parameters or geometric entities used in the intermediate design steps and reusing them for change of the designed parts or assemblies according to the modified input. In this paper, we adopted and implemented the design process modeling approach to our injection mold design system developed based on the Unigraphics system. It was proved that the productivity of mold redesign process is raised highly by introducing the design process modeling technique mold design system.

  • Concurrent Engineering is one of the methods which are used for the rapid product development. One of the important features in Concurrent Egineering is that the development process is to be parallel and the organization should be cross-functional. In order that the process be parallel and that the organization be cross-functional, an integrated information system such as PDM (Product Data Management) is required. Although the integrated data base is constructed, it could be meaningless if the application softwares were not inter-operable. This study shows an example of intergrated information system from three-dimensional product design to mold design and tooling for the development of Deflection Yoke(DY) which is one of the important parts of Cathode Ray Tube(CRT). A three-dimensional product design software, which is based on a commercial code, has been developed by ourselves. Selective Laser Sintering(SLS), which is one of the rapid prototyping techniques, has been used in this study. Mold design has been done by the three-dimensional way. A newly developed method of mold tooling, which is called Quick Die Manufacturing(QDM), has been introduced.

멀티 캐비티 실린더 기어 개발 (The Development of Multi-Cavity Cylindrical Gear)

  • 파워 윈도우 모터 조립부위에서 실린더 기어는 자동차 도어에서 중요한 부분이다. 이 연구는 대량 수입과 6 캐비티 금형 설계를 대체할 자체 제작 기술력 확보를 위해 수행되었다. 이 연구는 5가지 구체적 주제를 두고 작성되었다. 첫째, CAE를 이용해 시작품을 제작하고, 대량생산 제작을 위해 사전에 해석한다. 둘째, 대량생산 금형(2차원 및 3차원)을 설계한다. 셋째, 샘플 금형을 제작한다. 넷째, 3차원 설계제품을 시제작 후 측정한다. 다섯째, 데이터를 해석하고 금형을 수정한다. 이들 연구를 수행하면서 CAE를 사용한 제품샘플과 대량생산의 해석과 다수 캐비티의 샘플 금형의 제작의 연구가 성공적으로 수행되었다. 결과적으로, 핫런너를 사용하는 일점 게이트 및 6 캐비티가 파워 윈도우 모터 용 실린더 기어를 만드는데 가장 적합한 방법임을 알게 되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 Fig.1은 본 시스템이 제품의 형상을 모델링하고 그것으로부터 어떻게 금형을 설계하는 지를 설명해주고 있다. 본 연구의 범위는 Fig.1의 점선에 의해 둘러 싸인 부분이다. 즉 본 시스템의 모델링 기능을 사용하여 생성시킨 최종제 품 형상으로부터 적당한 몰드 베이스와 그에 장착되는 금형판을 설계 생성시키는 작업 이다.수지의 유동 해석과 NC공구 경로의 계산은 개발 중에 있으며 이들과 함께 통 합되면 완전한 CAD/CAM 시스템을 Fig.1에서와 같이 구축할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents the design strategy for the optimal RTM molds of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) by carbon fiber draping and resin flow simulation. First, the mold shape and molding condition were determined considering the undercut and die face of the product in the draping simulation, which made the preliminary shape of the product by compressing the carbon fiber. After that, the diffusion behavior during the injection of resin in the mold was predicted by the resin flow simulation. Finally, the optimal mold shape was designed by selecting the locations of resin injection port and vent based on total results of simulations. In this paper, the mold of automotive side mirror case was selected as the representative product. Also, the actual mold was manufactured based on the simulation design to confirm the practicality of it. This study is expected to contribute to the industry as a technology to improve the reliability and productivity of CFRP producted by RTM process.

  • Sewage treatment plants are energy hogs. Among many, aeration systems account for 40-50 percent of the total energy use. To save energy, strengthening oxygen transfer characteristics is necessary. In order to do so, microscopic bubble-creating equipment is a prerequisite. This study focuses on microscopic bubble-producing air diffuser manufacture to save energy and enhance oxygen transfer.

  • The aluminum chassis drive gear manufacturing process improvement has been very effective in both technical and economic aspects. Technology for Shear mold design technology, mold material selection and processing technology, and press molding technology has improved greatly overall. In the meantime, it is necessary to clarify the causes of defects that occur frequently due to lack of technology, Based on this, it is meaningful that it has secured the ability to respond to new product development and molding in the future. By applying these technologies, we plan to expand not only the drive gear chassis, but also various types of press forming such as frame, handle, various fastening parts of system window. In addition, the ability to develop precision products in the future is expected to become a driving force in further enhancing the competitiveness of companies.

  • Recently, the life cycle of products is rapidly shortened and then the W s a l of the used mold applied in development of a product is a difficult things. In this study, we proposed a feasibility of the recycling mold base by analyzing of the existing standard mold base. And we developed a D/B program to promote the mold design capability with CAD. Also, we confirmed the possibility of recycling mold base by testing of a used automobile lamp mold.

  • This study is about 3D design for parts supporting copper pipes of wall-mounted air-conditioners manufactured by company "D" in Japan. Domestic press die manufacturers are obsessed with 2D die design and are afraid of taking risk with developing 3D die design and die manufacture. This hinders paradigm shift. In this study, the strip layout, which was already completed in the previous study, is altered by adding restriking. Based on the modified strip layout, the 3D die design is done in 15 processes.

스테인레스계열(17-4PH, 316L, 440C) 분말을 이용한 Dental Scaler Tip 분말사출금형 개발 (Development of Powder Injection Mold for Dental Scaler Tip Using Stainless Series Powder)

  • Powder injection molding(PIM) is widely used for many parts in the field of automotives, electronics and medical industries, due to the capability of net shaping for complex 3-D geometry. Powder injection mold design for the dental scaler tip, a component of medical appliance, was presented. In comparison with conventional machining process, powder injection molding has many advantages, specially in price and dimensional stability, for molding dental scaler tip which has complex geometry. Both product design and mold design for dental scaler tip were presented. A PIM feedstock was made of stainless series(17-4PH, 316L, 440C) powder and a wax based binder. The 'rapid mold' concept was applied to manufacture the various forms and materials of dental scaler tip including vibration characteristics.
