  • In this paper, we describe the design methodology and specifications of the developed module-based bedside monitors for patient monitoring. The bedside monitor consists of a main unit and module cases with various parameter modules. The main unit includes a 12.1" TFT color LCD, a main CPU board, and peripherals such as a module controller, Ethernet LAN card, video card, rotate/push button controller, etc. The main unit can connect at maximum three module cases, each of which can accommodate up to 7 parameter modules. They include the modules for electrocardiograph, respiration, invasive blood pressure, noninvasive blood pressure, temperature, and SpO with plethysmograph.raph.

  • Recently, one of the most interesting issue in the intelligent robot and the industrial robot area is the design and an implementation of servo driver module based on motion network for hollow type joint module of all-in-one structure. In this paper, we designed and implemented for hollow type driver, and also verified the performance of the developed module through the experiment.

  • Headlight monitoring is one of the new requirement in the modern Metro EMU design. In order to meet this requirement. several kinds methods are already provided in the train. This paper introduces another method. which is designed with the darlington circuit and can switch off/on the headlight with the circuit. Following the conceptual method. the monitoring module was developed and installed in domestic line. Investigation of the concept shall be focused on the more smaller module and expending the module to other part.

  • It is not yet possible to solve the optimal number of neurons in hidden layer at neural networks. However, it has been proposed and proved by experiments that there is a limit in increasing the number of neuron in hidden layer, because too much incrememt will cause instability, local minima and large error. This paper proposes a module neural controller with pattern recognition ability to solve the above trade-off problems and to obtain fast learning convergence speed. The proposed neural controller is composed of several module having Multi-layer Perrceptron(MLP). Each module have the less neurons in hidden layer, because it learns only input patterns having a similar learning directions. Experiments with six joint robot manipulator have shown the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed the parallel module neural controller with pattern recognition perceptron.

  • This study proposes a way to validate BIM data quality in BIM applications. Solibri model checker is adopted as a module development platform, which is based on Java programming language. The platform makes application developers implement BIM model checker for their own purpose. This study has developed a BIM validation module for circulation analysis of building design. The validation module enables end-users to automatically detect data corrupted or not defined. In case studies, the module found that an IFC file generated from a BIM software has wrong relation information between a space and boundary elements. A building model should satisfy modeling requirements and then domain users can get analysis results. The BIM data validation module needs to be developed in each BIM application domain.

  • This paper suggests Enode Operating Systems that is core part of active network. It iscomposed of five parts: domain, channel, thread, memory and file module. The domain and channel module among five parts are the main function. The remaining parts that are the thread, memory, and file are the supporting module for the domain and channel. The domain module manages active network It creates and deletes domain data structure. The channel module has an inchan, outchan, and cutchan. We also test the Enode Operating Systems to verify suggesting concept of node Operating System.

  • This paper analyzed the phase noise characteristics of frequency-shifting module by figuring out the relationship between the phase noise components of 1st and 2nd local oscillator composing the frequency-shifting module and those of RF output signals shifted in frequency. Also, frequency-shifting module with the improvement of the phase noise performance was designed and implemented by means that the phase noise components of 1st local oscillator were cancelled in the output signal. Output signal has been affected by only phase noise of 2nd local oscillator, which had excellent phase noise performance than that of the 1st local oscillator.

  • We describe the optimal design and the fabrication of a 2$\times$2 port optical device based on the thin film filter (TFF), and also propose a 4-channel OADM module using these devices. The optical performance of the proposed OADM module is evaluated theoretically and experimentally, and is compared to that of typical OADM modules using 1$\times$2 port optical devices for 4, 8, 16 and 32 drop channels in optical transmission systems. Since the 2$\times$2 port optical device accomplishes the function of wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing simultaneously in the proposed OADM module, the insertion loss of through channels can be improved by 1.2 dB compare to that of typical OADM modules using 1$\times$2 port optical devices. In addition, both the size and the price of the module can be reduced to 40~50%.

  • Due to the special structure of the car seat, the heating and cooling module must be installed in a limited area resulting in difficulty in regards to achieving optimal cooling and heating efficiency. In order to solve these problems, this paper establishes a new structure for heating and cooling modules, verifies the structural feasibility of the thermoelectric module for cooling and heating the seat through fluid simulations, and verifies the proper design of the mechanical components of the thermoelectric module.

  • This study deals with 8-cheok(ch"), equivalent to 2.4m as the standard scale of architectural module in Korea. 8ch" of Korean module was a unique dimensions compared to other East-Asian architecture. It is inferred that it spread in Joseon Dynasty by the effects of the law which limited the size of buildings and materials according to social rank. 8ch" module was applied to the Palace architecture and the highest grade mansions rather than common and small houses. The application of 8ch" module changed the process of architectural planning, and bred the essential characteristics of Korean architecture in terms of appearance and techniques. In addition, it developed to gain multiformity of composition by combination of other modules.
