  • Immunomodulation is a technique for the modulation of immune responses against graft material to improve surgical success rates. The main target cell for the immunomodulation is a macrophage because it is the reaction site of the graft and controls the healing process. Macrophages can be classified into M1 and M2 types. Most immunomodulation techniques focus on the rapid differentiation of M2-type macrophage. An M2 inducer, 4-hexylresorcinol, has been recently identified and is used for bone grafts and dental implant coatings.

  • We propose a combined STBC (Space Time Block Coding) and AMC (Adaptive Modulation and Coding) in the underwater multipath communication channel. Performance of UAC (underwater acoustic communication) in shallow water is degraded by complicated multipath and reverberation. For this reason, and considering the variability of the ocean channel, we combined STBC and AMC techniques, which are the spatial diversity in a multi-sensor communication system. BER (Bit error rate) of combined STBC and AMC is improved by 5dB when we compare with the BER of a single sensor based system. The proposed system shows a 3dB improvement when we compare it with the BER of the single sensor based system applying the AMC technique only.

  • In this paper several basic techniques for signal processing and analysis are surveyed. Firstly by the intervention of the uncertainty principle, an equality sign may have different degree of precision if non commutable operators are applied. Seconds y maximum entropy estimate and randam process based viewpoint must be enhanced to get rid of the well established and reigning deterministic image of science. Thirdly techniques for the analysis of a signal namely detection. ess]motion and modulation are explained as well as the positive definiteness of a covariance function, Karhunen-Loeve expansion and SVD of an image.

  • Recent progress in development of CMOS power amplifiers for mobile terminals is reviewed, focusing first on switching mode power amplifiers, which are used for transmitters with constant envelope modulation and polar transmitters. Then, various transmission line transformers are evaluated. Finally, linear power amplifiers, and linearization techniques, are discussed. Although CMOS devices are less linear than other devices, additional functions can be easily integrated with CMOS power amplifiersin the same IC. Therefore, CMOS power amplifiers are expected to have potential applications after various linearity and efficiency enhancement techniques are used.

  • Due to advancements in power electronics and inverter topologies, the current controlled multilevel voltage-source pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter is usually preferred for accurate control, quick response and high dynamic performance. A multilevel topology approach is found to be best suited for overcoming many problems arising from the use of high power converters. This paper presents a comprehensive review and comparative study of several current control (CC) techniques for multilevel inverters with a special emphasis on various approaches of the hysteresis current controller. Since the hysteresis CC technique poses a problem of variable switching frequency, a ramp-comparator controller and a predictive controller to attain constant switching frequency are described along with its quantitative comparison. Furthermore, various methods have been reviewed to achieve hysteresis current control PWM with constant switching frequency operation. This paper complies various guidelines to choose a particular method suitable for application at a given power level, switching frequency and dynamic response.

  • In this paper, we consider trellis-coding techniques with the convolutional encoder R=k/(k+1) for improving the reliability of digital transimission over bandlimited noisy PRS and 49-QPRS channels. Employing the R=k/(k+1) convolutional code for the PRS channel results in over 3 dB of coding gain comparing with the baseline system. The trellis-coded 49-QPRS system can be realized by combining the 9-QPRS system with the R=1/2 convolutiona code, which can be improved by over 2dB coding gain comparing with the 9-QPRS system. In additin, we study a method of avoiding the occurance of unlimited runs of identical output to prevent operation of timing error.

  • All Inverter fed induction motor systems which the switching patterns are determined by the approximated sinusoidal modulation techniques have many troublesome problems such as the current ripple duing to harmoic components. Therefore, in this paper, the current and torque pulsations for a inverter fed induction motor drive system are analyzed and specified theoretically and the determination techniques of optimal switching patterns for minimization of these factors are presented. Also, these simulation results are compared to the ones obtained from the realized experimental system by one-chip microcomputer, 8751.

  • In the sound insulation measurements, the influence of background (extraneous) noise is often serious problem and how to reduce its effect and to improve the signal-to-noise(S/N) ratio is an important theme. As the background noise, such extraneous noises as road traffic noise and machine noise often disturb the measurement. In laboratory measurements on specimens with high sound insulation performances, even the internal noise of the measurement system can become a problem. To improve the signal-to-noise ratio and to improve the measurement accuracy, various kinds of digital signal processing techniques can be applied. In this paper, four kinds of digital signal processing techniques are applied and their effectiveness is examined by a simple sound insulation measurement.

  • Multi carrier transmissions are digital modulation techniques where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With his technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of multi carrier transmission systems with various structure are analyzed, where data is transmitted over multi-path Rayleigh fading channel. The performance of this technique, gauged by the average bit error rate, is compared dependent upon the various structures.

  • In industrial drive of the BDCW motor, voltage source inverter is of tenly used. In this paper in operation of the inverter for the BDCM drives, some PWM techniques are applied and the mathematical torque ripple model is developed to investigate the performance of the PWM techniques. The simulation results show that the multiple pulse modulation is practically introduces the lowest torque ripple components.
