분산 모바일 멀티에이전트 플랫폼을 이용한 사용자 기반 디지털 라이브러리 구축 (A Personal Digital Library on a Distributed Mobile Multiagents Platform)

  • 분산 환경에서 디지털 라이브러리 구축시 기존의 단일 에이전트를 이용한 클라이언트/서버 방식으로 시스템을 구축할 경우, 일차원적인 자료검색으로 인해 검색결과의 관련성이 없고, 검색 견과에 대한 사용자의 성향이 반영되지 않으며, 클라이언트가 서버에 접속할 때마다 인증을 받아야 하므로 다수의 서버 접근시 문서 처리 효율이 낮고 사용하기 불편하다는 문제점을 갖는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이의 해결을 위해 기존의 멀티 에이전트 플랫폼인 DECAF와 표준안으로 제시되는 모바일 ORB인 Voyager를 응용해 새로운 모바일 환경에 적합한 멀티 에이전트 플랫폼을 개발 제안하였고, 이를 이용한 사용자 기반의 디지털 라이브러리 시스템(PDS)을 구축하였다. 이러한 접근방법은 국내외적으로 처음 시도되는 연구이다. 새로운 플렛폼은 관련정보의 검색문제를 위해 신경회로망을 이용한 문서분류를 통해 관련 문서의 검색을 세분화시킴으로써 검색결과의 관련성을 높였고. 사용자 성향을 반영하기 위해 모듈화된 클라이언트를 구성하여 신경회로망을 이용함으로써 사용자의 성장과 탐색 결과를 최적화 시켰으며, 네트워크 문제를 위해 멀티에이전트 플랫폼과 모바일 클래스를 이용한 모바일 기능을 개발하였다. 또한 모바일 시스템과 멀티에이전트 시스템을 적절히 결합하고 멀티 에이전트 사이의 협상 알고리즘과 스케줄링 방법을 개발함으로써 제안한 플랫폼이 효율적으로 동작하도록 구성하였다. 시뮬레이션한 결과, 분산환경에서 모바일 서버의 개수와 에이전트의 개수가 늘어날수록 PDS는 기존의 디지털 라이브러리보다는 탐색시간이 훨씬 줄어들었고 결과에 대한 사용자 만족도도 기존 C/S 방식에 비해 약 4배정도 향상됨을 알 수 있었다

  • In this paper an intelligence embedding quadruped pet robot is described. It has 15 degrees of freedom and consists of various sensors such as CMOS image, voice recognition and sound localization, inclinometer, thermistor, real-time clock, tactile touch, PIR and IR to allows owners to interact with pet robot according to human's intention as well as the original features of pet animals. The architecture is flexible and adopts various embedded processors for handling sensors to provide modular structure. The pet robot is also used for additional purpose such like security, gaming visual tracking, and research platform. It is possible to generate various actions and behaviors and to download voice or music files to maintain a close relation of users. With cost-effective sensor, the pet robot is able to find its recharge station and recharge itself when its battery runs low. To facilitate programming of the robot, we support several development environments. Therefore, the developed system is a low-cost programmable entertainment robot platform.

불가사리 채집 로봇 플랫폼의 개념설계 및 분석 (Starfish Capture Robotic Platform: Conceptual Design and Analysis)

  • Starfish are a critical problem for fishermen since they eat every farming product including shellfish. The number of starfish is increasing dramatically because they have no natural enemy underwater. We consider the concept of capturing starfish using a semi-autonomous robot. A new underwater robot design to capture starfish is proposed using cooperation between humans and the robot. A requirements list for the robot is developed and two conceptual designs are proposed. Each robot is designed as a modular platform. The kinematic and dynamic performance of each robot is analyzed and compared. This study is a starting point for developing a starfish capture robot and designing underwater robots for other applications. In the near future, a prototype will be assembled and tested in a marine environment.

TMN 프레임워크와 CORBA 기술의 통합을 위한 플랫폼 구조 (A Platform Architecture for the Integration of CORBA Technology within TMN Framework)

  • 지금까지, 전기통신망과 장비들의 관리에 대해서는 많은 연구들이 진행되었지만, TMN 상위 계층의 서비스 관리와 비즈니스 관리에 대한 연구는 많이 수행되지 못했다. 최근 전세계적으로 TMN 상위 계층의 관리기능 구현을 위해서 CORBA 기술을 적용하고자하는 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 정보모델과 상호운용에 관한 TMN과 CORBA의 주요특징들을 비교하고, TMN 프레임웍와 효율적인 CORBA 기술 연동을 위한 플랫폼 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 구조에서, TMN 관리 정보를 CORBA IDL 인터페이스로 변환해주는 GDMO/ASN.1 - CORBA IDL 변환기가 고안, 구현되었고, JIDM의 상호 작용 변환의 구현을 위해서 TMN/CORBA 게이트웨이 또한 고안되었다. 그리고 이러한 기능의 확장을 위해서 모듈 형식으로 라이브러리들과 코드 생성기들이 설계, 구현되었다.Abstract Up to now, a lot of efforts have been made for the management of telecommunication networks and equipment, but less effort has been made for the realization of higher-layer service and business management. There are recently worldwide growing interests for applying CORBA technology for the realization of higher layer Telecommunication Management Network (TMN) management functions. In this paper, we compare the features of TMN and CORBA with respect to information model, and operational behavior. And then, we propose a platform architecture for the efficient integration of CORBA technology within TMN framework. Within platform architecture, GDMO/ASN.1 to IDL translator has been designed and implemented for translating TMN management information into CORBA IDL interface. The TMN/CORBA gateway is also designed for realization of the interaction translation specification of JIDM task force. The libraries and code generators have been designed and implemented in a modular fashion to provide the functional extensibility.

  • For agile production methods, manufacturing system requires development of a motion controller which has flexibility of general-purpose motion controller and productivity of specialized-purpose one. In this study we developed a flowchart programming development environment for motion language and process control. A controller designed on this environment can be used as a general purpose motion controller of a machine tool. Design of control programming based on a flowchart has the advantages such as reducing the programming time and improving intuitiveness of interface for users.   • The strategy of open architecture control system intends to integrate manufacturing components on a single platform, so that a particular component can be easily added and/or replaced. Therefore, the control scheme is neither hardware dependent nor software dependent. In this paper a modular and object oriented approach for the open architecture structure of control systems is invesigated. A standard reference model for genetic manufacturer system, which consists of three modules; hardware module, operating system module, and application software module, is first proposed. Then a standard reference model for open architecture robot control system is suggested.

  • This study aims to investigate the impact of wide use of digital technology, in particular, the Internet, on innovation process and corporate strategy in electronics industry. The introduction of digital technology has changed innovation process, business model and organizational structure of the electronics companies. With the wide use of digital technology, the entire value chain of electronics industry from procurement, sales, and marketing to R&D and manufacturing has been restructured. This paper examine how digital technology has changed firms' behaviors in various areas through e-commerce, virtual reality and simulation, the rise of a new type of firm called EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), and etc. Amidst these changes building up innovation-friendly organization has emerged as a critical concern for firms. Due to the striking decrease of transaction cost, a network type of organization has proliferated, and a business function turns into a modular organization. As a whole, digital technology has pushed electronics firms into developing their own business model, which takes consideration of standardization of business platform and their core competency.

Lightweight End-to-End Blockchain for IoT Applications

  • Internet of Things (IoT) networks composed of a large number of sensors and actuators generate a huge volume of data and control commands, which should be enforced by strong data reliability. The end-to-end data reliability of IoT networks is an essential industrial enabler. Blockchain technology can provide strong data reliability and integrity within IoT networks. We designed a lightweight end-to-end blockchain network that applies to common IoT applications. Its enhanced modular architecture and lightweight consensus mechanism guarantee its practical applicability for general IoT applications. In addition, the proposed blockchain network is highly software compatible because it adopts the Hyperledger development environment. Directly embedding the proposed blockchain middleware platform in small computing devices proves its practicability.

Design and Implementation of Smart Home based on openHAB

  • More new devices and technologies are recently adapted on homes to aim at enhancing our lifestyle. But though they are not interconnected each other but controlled separately. To solve this problem, we have designed and implemented a common prototype based on openHAB and RaspberryPi they could speak to each other to create a really automated and smart environment at home. The proposed prototype can merge the existing variable devices, add and remove new features at runtime because of its modular design. The proposed prototype based on a low-cost platform showed its potential as a smart home and provide a new UX to users.

복합시스템 고장진단을 위한 다중신경망 개발 (Development of Multiple Neural Network for Fault Diagnosis of Complex System)

  • Automated production system is composed of many complicated techniques and it become a very difficult task to control, monitor and diagnose this compound system. Moreover, it is required to develop an effective diagnosing technique and reduce the diagnosing time while operating the system in parallel under many faults occurring concurrently. This study develops a Modular Artificial Neural Network(MANN) which can perform a diagnosing function of multiple faults with the following steps: 1) Modularizing a complicated system into subsystems. 2) Formulating a hierarchical structure by dividing the subsystem into many detailed elements. 3) Planting an artificial neural network into hierarchical module. The system developed is implemented on workstation platform with $X-Windows^{(r)}$ which provides multi-process, multi-tasking and IPC facilities for visualization of transaction, by applying the software written in $ANSI-C^{(r)}$ together with $MOTIF^{(r)}$ on the fault diagnosis of PI feedback controller reactor. It can be used as a simple stepping stone towards a perfect multiple diagnosing system covering with various industrial applications, and further provides an economical approach to prevent a disastrous failure of huge complicated systems.
