Sanjo has a quintessential value not only because of its musical depth but also because of its style of music that best expresses Korean sentiment. However, new values are being established from different viewpoints as time passes so Sanjo's values need a modification in order to encompass a contemporary value that is required and accepted by modern society. In this context, while focusing on communication with the public, I contemplated the developmental direction of Sanjo in five perspectives; The Social realization of value, The Experimental and social transformation, The Social diffusion of creation, The Leap of fusion and harmony and finally The Socialization of contents. In the perspective of 'social realization of value', Sanjo refers to creative activity as a new 'duneum' which allows traditional and creative activity to deviate freely while still being under the Sanjo guideline. Either way, it has a periodical value because new forms with new rhythms are the only ways to communicate with the modern public. When these values can be understood by modern society can Sanjo be revived and be acknowledged as an infinite value. Secondly as an experiment and social transformation, there is a transformation of musical instruments in the 21th century. Our musical instruments should be transformed to effectively perform our music rather than to perform Western music. Third, social diffusion of creation should be the 'new Sanjo festival in 21th century' which can facilitate the communication with the public. Fourth, regarding leap of fusion and harmony, I suggest a performing culture consisting of 'Storytelling Sanjo' and 'Media Art' which will ceaselessly evolve Sanjo performance as a medium to communicate with the public. Finally, in regards to the socialization of contents, I emphasize that Sanjo should have contents of mass media as a way of means to help utilize mass media.

The Grid, a lattice structure adapted in paintings, is one of thesimplest plastic structures based on the intersection of horizontal and perpendicular lines. Though mankind has, from the pre-history to the present day, put it to good use in everyday life as a traditional practice or a magical, esoteric, religious emblem in the case of the teciform of primitve art, it was in the paintings of Piet Mondrian that the Grid showed its modern, artistic transformation. As we suggest in the title, before I state the Grid as a plastic construction of modern painting, this dissertation inquires the Grid structure that extends over paintings through the ages as a painterly conept, especially focused on their formation and deconstruction. To begin with, my dissertation investigates, as a historical background, a general idea of the geometrical structure and phases of its transition in art, prior to dealing with the Grids as plastic strures in modern painting. the core of my study on formal Grids is permeated through the third chapter. The first chapter concentrates on, firstly, difining the notion of the Grid and geometrical structure, secondly, searching for a historical backgrounb with whict the so- called modern Grid-paintings come in, inquiring into the formation of the illusion-Grid as aresult of discovering the linear perpective and the situation of the conflict and reconciliaton between reality and illusion. Based on these considerations, the second cecond chapter will examine the various sitations of formation and adaptation of the paintery Grids in the Literalism-Grid, as we have already seen in the chapter one. And the cardinal third chapter devotes itself to the process of the formation of the so-called Object-Grid and Literal-Grid in the Literalism or Minimalism as its logical extension of the Painterly Grid. With it we can get to an interpretation and understanding of the meaning and qualites of Grid dwelt in Modernism thst transformed the structure of Painterly Grid originally as a plane concept to the third dimentionl structure. And then, the fourth chapter, we try to draw a new meaning andre-interpretation of the Formal-Grid as a representatuinnal structure appeared in the post-modernist paintings, going with its deconstructional situation. Therefore, we can, in our study on Grids, see the various points of view in the interpretation of them as illusion-structure, as plane-structure, and as cubic-structure; its concept differs form times, oscillating between its formation and deconstruction. The Grid, as we have seen in my dissertation, contains various problems and significations in art that deserve to investigate throughly, including some important plastic problem such as space and plane, and, in the case of do-grid, time. We may expect new concepts of it that will have difference meanings. 1 hope my study makes some contributions to understanding the coordination of the abstruse modern and contemporary art.

There are many types of linguistical system generally being used in modern society and it is essential to understand the primary components comprising the linguistical system when communication by the language system. In the linguistics point of view, the sign system has been developed from the simple linguistic symbols used by our ancestors in the ancient period, those visual linguistic sign can be so symbolize and express simply the significant meaning of it that people can understand and communicate with it so fast and easily. Therefore, the purpose of this report is how the sign system can be convenient, handy, safe, comfortable, and confusion-proof to the occupants as the public media; easily understandable to the individual by the development and constitution of effectual signage system concerning guidance, direction and safeguards in thee visual linguistics point of view. Consequently, the sign system have been studied based upon the theory of visual perception considering the cognitive and sociopsychological affects of user.

Transformation of urban functions and approach of "High starting position and jump over" will give impetus to promote Shanghai as an international metropolitan within fairy short period of time. To transform urban functions and translate" High starting position and jump over", certain links which have great impact on Shanghai's rising-up must be handled and normal approach to develop the city must be renovated to reach the goal of establishing an international city. The researches on modern fashion design have more specific and multifactorial, and expressional approaches of designers become more deeverse too. And, at the present point time when the design itself extends actively throughout the world, there should be may studies that focus on the development of CAD system. This study research that computer adied design used in developing various design and variety training. Development of fashion design by using computers could contribute to the rapid composition of deverse researches on it. It is to be classified into three items, diagram, illustration, transformation in computer adied fashion design. The illustration could be color variation by using CAD system, and express correct form, adjustment, complement. It must be development as an expression of propaganda, having a artistic value of ganre. At the present point of time when the fashion design itself it needed development, there should be may studies that focus on development of fashion design by using computer. This study present diagram for practical side, and illustration for decorative side by using CAD system.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the symbolic meanings of the beautiful girls' character fashion in modern Japanese animations. This study investigated the currency and characteristics of the beautiful girls' characters from the 80's to the present. The fashion style of a beautiful girl's character was categorized into four styles: trendy style, adult style, Lolita style and fantasy style. These fashion styles were analyzed, and as a result, three symbolic meanings of the fashion style of a beautiful girl's character are discussed. Firstly, these occidentalized body styles represented idealized body images that are not traditionally Japanese. Secondly, the adult style (growth) represented coming out, i.e. the desires to develop from a child into an adult. Thirdly, the adult (transformation), Lolita and fantastic styles appealed to maniac consumers, having a "Moe" feeling.

The design of structures of modern industry has developed to satisfy stringent service, realiability and safety. Up to now, geometric profile which means surface foughness and dimension accuracy is mainly treated in manufacturing process of work surface. But it is inevitable to evaluate changes of surface geometry as well as the nature of alterations in surface layers because surface of workpiece changes as a result of phase transformation, chemical changes, plastic deformation and stress changes. This paper is to present principal data for safety design by verifying the effect of grinding conditions and method in grinding layers and to explain the method of measuring surface integrity. In this paper, structural steel(SM20C) is used as a workpiece. Of integrity, surface roughness in view of surface texture is analyzed by frequency domain and residual stress, structures and defect of ground layers in view of surface metallurgy are investigated.

The future office which is to enhance the quality of culture by in-tegrating indivisual, domestic and social life should commu-nicate efficiency, movement, energy, transformation.

The results of Change of Space Organization of Nagan Eupsung are as follows. There was no castle when Nagan folk village was built and it was merely small village arranged centering around road, but as it was emphasized as a point of strategic importance, castle wall was built and the government office and military facilities were established. In the late period of the Joseon Dynasty, as central power was weakened and its importance as a strategic point was declined, private houses outside the folk village were extended to the inside of castle. The whole structure of the village was not greatly changed through the modern society, but disappearance of village components and change of its basic structure like destruction of the castle were continued not to be restored to the former condition spontaneously. It was considered that it was caused by social demographic characteristics of the folk village which was deteriorated and environmental factors that it was changed into sightseeing place.
