In this thesis, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and the inherent problems found in modern statistics education in Korea. We investigate the American probability and statistics curriculum currently used in Wisconsin and discuss the overall state of statistics education in The United States. Through comparison of both the Korean and Wisconsin model, we explore the future direction of statistical education.

국내 대학에 '통계학과'가 최초로 개설된 해는 1962년이니 국내 대학에 통계학이 독자적인 학문 영역으로 자리 잡은지 어언 57년이 지났다. 김준보 선생은 국내 대학 최초 통계학과인 고려대 통계학과에 처음으로 부임한 전임 교원으로 이 땅 통계학 여명기에 통계학 교재 저술에 힘썼으며, 또한 1971년 한국통계학회 창설을 주도하고 초대 회장을 맡아 국내에 통계학이 독자적 학문영역으로 자리매김 할 수 있는 초석을 마련하셨다. 본고에서는 두 가지 논의를 중심으로 연구한다. 하나는 한국통계학회 태동과 김준보 선생, 다른 하나는 이 땅 통계학 여명기에 선생이 저술한 통계학 분야 두 권의 책을 개관한다. 『현대통계학 : 통계와 추계의 종합체계』 (Kim, 1954), 『추측통계 : 표본조사와 실험계획법 입문』 (Kim, 1956)이 그것이다.

최근 계산 기술의 진보로 인하여, 베이지안 통계는 급속도로 확산되어 가고 있다. 그러나, 정보화 시대에 들어서면서 베이지안 통계를 비롯한 통계학은 새로운 문제들에 직면하게 되었다. 이 논문에서는 베이지안 통계의 역사를 간단히 살펴보고, 베이지안 통계의 현재의 영향력에 대해서 알아본다. 그리고 통계학의 미래와 통계학계가 직면한 도전과제들에 대하여 생각해 볼 것이다.

Ahn등 (2003)의 P-행렬을 사용한 두 $c^d$-분할표의 변환자료들의 유클리드 거리제곱은 두 분할표의 셀 (cell) 상대도수벡터들 사이의 유클리드 거리 제곱에 비례함을 보이고, PP-자료의 플롯을 현대시분석과 설문자료의 탐색에 사용하는 방법을 제안한다.

Recently, as the sleep disorder problem of modern people deepens, the interest towards quality of sleep is increasing. To increase the quality of modern people's sleep. This paper has suggested an LED lighting control system according to the sleep stage using PPG sensors of wearable devices. The pulse of the wrist radial artery was measured using a wearable device mounted with PPG sensor, which enables heart rate-measuring, and by using the point that heart rate lowers during stable sleep than non-sleeping, the LED lighting of indoors was controlled, which is the disturbing element when sleeping. For the performance evaluation, a 10-Fold cross analysis was conducted for performance evaluation, and a result of an average accuracy 87.02% was obtained as a result. Therefore, the LED lighting control system according to the sleep stage using a wearable device of this paper is expected to contribute to raise the quality of the user's life.

This study aims to understand how consumers consume by presenting the concept of 'consumption style' and the meaning of consumption for modern consumers. As modern consumers cannot lead their daily lives without engaging in consumption, their daily lives are deeply related to consumption. However, we have not been largely interested in how we manage consumption. It is a fact that marketing-oriented studies are focused on consumers for the establishment of corporate activities and strategies until now. For the analysis of the research, SPSS for Windows and AMOS were used. In order to examine the general characteristics of the investigation object, the technical statistics of frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation were obtained. To develop the research item analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and cluster analysis were conducted. Based on the meaning of consumption through the consideration of preceding studies, the consumption style was extracted with 4 economic, socio-cultural, psychological and ethical perspectives. Also, 4groups were classified according to the type of consumption style: professional consumers, practical consumers, indifferent consumers and emotional consumers.

현대통계학은 많은 분야에서 사용되고 있으나 사용자들이 통계학적 개념을 이해하는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 한편으로는 초등학생 때부터 줄기잎 그림이나, 비율자료의 원그림 등은 물론이고 평균과 같은 기술통계를 배우고 있다. 초등학교 고학년이나 중학교 저학년 학생들을 위한 직관적인 통계 패키지가 있다면 미래의 통계 사용자들인 이들 학생들이 통계적 개념을 이해하는데 많은 도움이 될 것이라고 생각하여 직관에 기초한 통계 패키지를 개발하였다.

In the past half century little effort has been made for the improvement of teaching and learning statistics compared with other parts of school mathematics. But recently data analysis has begun to play a prominant role in the national reform efforts of mathematics curricula in the United States of America and the United Kingdom. In this paper we overview modern statistical thinking differed from mathematical thinking and examine the problems of current old-style teaching of statistics. And, we discuss the current data handling(or data analysis) emphasis in the national curriculum of mathematics in the countries mentioned above. We explore the reform direction of statistics teaching; changing the philosophy of teaching statistics, teaching real data analysis, emphasis of using computer, and teaching statistical inference not as mathematics but as intuitive data-centered approach.

컴퓨터의 발전에 따른 통계방법 중에서 붓스트랩(bootstrap)에 대하여 연구하였다. 특히 추축통계량의 표본분포를 붓스트랩분포로 추정하는데 있어서 계산문제와 이론적인 정당성을 고려하였으며, 모분포의 성격을 나타내는 모수의 붓스트랩 신뢰영역을 몇 가지 사례들에 대해 살펴보았고 사례별로 붓스트랩 방법의 의미를 고찰하였다.

In recent years, nonparametric kernel estimation of regresion function are abundant and widely applicable to many areas of statistics. Most of modern researches concerned with the fixed global bandwidth selection which can be used in the estimation of regression function with all the same value for all x. In this paper, we propose a method for selecting locally varing bandwidth based on bootstrap method in kernel estimation of fixed design regression. Performance of proposed bandwidth selection method for finite sample case is conducted via Monte Carlo simulation study.
