  • This paper aims at investigating the realities of puerperal period of Korean women, chiefly in the city of Seoul, on the basis of their living standard, schooling caree by age groups, to contribute to the improvement in health of mother and child. In this paper in which the writer, aming 492 women in Seoul a subject of this investigation and giving them 34 items of questionnaires, has studied their concern and practices to recover their health during a lying-in period, and drawn a conclusion as follows : Though their place of childbirth and food they take during the period are varied according to their standard of living, their practices and managements after parturition are true to the conventional usage which is far from modern scientific methods. Problems for the better management during puerperal period are : 1. to have expactent and nursing mothers better educated in their antenatal care ; 2. to let the family planners have more understanding about the problems of puerperal period ; 3. to make those who are concerned study on the problems interdependent between puerperal period and pregnancy and child birth.

  • The development of technology has changed the world drastically. Patent data analysis helps to understand modern technology trends and predict prospective future technology. In this paper, we analyze the patent citation network using the USPTO data between 1985 and 2012 to identify technology trends. We use network centrality measures that include a PageRank algorithm to find core technologies and identify groups of technology with similar properties with statistical network models.

  • Image coloration refers to adding plausible colors to a grayscale image or video. Image coloration has been used in many modern fields, including restoring old photographs, as well as reducing the time spent painting cartoons. In this paper, a method is proposed for colorizing grayscale images using a convolutional neural network. We propose an encoder-decoder model, adapting FusionNet to our purpose. A proper loss function is defined instead of the MSE loss function to suit the purpose of coloring. The proposed model was verified using the ImageNet dataset. We quantitatively compared several colorization models with ours, using the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) metric. In addition, to qualitatively evaluate the results, our model was applied to images in the test dataset and compared to images applied to various other models. Finally, we applied our model to a selection of old black and white photographs.

  • High-quality image datasets are in high demand for various applications. With many online sources providing manually collected datasets, a persisting challenge is to fully automate the dataset collection process. In this study, we surveyed an automatic image dataset generation field through analyzing a collection of existing studies. Moreover, we examined fields that are closely related to automated dataset generation, such as query expansion, web scraping, and dataset quality. We assess how both noise and regional search engine differences can be addressed using an automated search query expansion focused on hypernyms, allowing for user-specific manual query expansion. Combining these aspects provides an outline of how a modern web scraping application can produce large-scale image datasets.

  • Recent advances in lymphatic imaging have provided novel insights into the lymphatic system. Interventional radiology has played a significant role in the development of lymphatic imaging techniques and modalities. Radiologists should be familiar with the basic physiology and anatomy of the lymphatic system to understand the imaging features of lymphatic disorders, which reflect their pathophysiology. This study comprehensively reviews the physiological and anatomical aspects of the human lymphatic system as well as the latest lymphatic imaging techniques.

  • Lymphatic disorders encompass a broad spectrum of diseases involving the lymphatic system, ranging from traumatic lymphatic leaks to lymphatic malformations. Lymphatic disorders can be categorized into traumatic and non-traumatic disorders according to their etiology. These two categories may be further divided into subgroups depending on the anatomical location of the lymphatic pathology and their association with clinical syndromes. Thoracic duct embolization was a milestone in the field of lymphatic intervention that encouraged the application of percutaneous embolization techniques to treat leaks and reflux disorders in the lymphatic system. Additional access routes for embolization, including retrograde thoracic duct and transhepatic lymphatic access, have also been developed. This article comprehensively reviews a variety of options for the treatment of lymphatic disorders, from conservative management to the most recent embolization techniques.

  • Recent advancements in electronic devices and wireless communication technologies, particularly the rise of 5G, have raised concerns about the escalating electromagnetic pollution and its potential adverse impacts on human health and electronics. As a result, the demand for effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials has grown significantly. Traditional materials face limitations in providing optimal solutions owing to inadequacy and low performance due to small thickness. MXene-based composite materials have emerged as promising candidates in this context owing to their exceptional electrical properties, high conductivity, and superior EMI shielding efficiency across a broad frequency range. This review examines the recent developments and advantages of MXene-based composite materials in EMI shielding applications, emphasizing their potential to address the challenges posed by electromagnetic pollution and to foster advancements in modern electronics systems and vital technologies.

  • This paper investigates the process of change in the meaning of the term gongye (工藝) (nowadays it means craft) during Korea's transition to the modern era. The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty (朝鮮王朝實錄) will serve as the basis for the examination of pre-modern usage, and the Korea-United States Treaty of 1882 for the changes that occurred between the translation from Chinese and from Japanese following the opening of the port . After the port opened, the meaning of gongye, which once broadly referred to the wide range of work of people from different fields, was narrowed down to singularly represent the manufacturing industry. Following the example of Japan, the first East Asian country to succeed in modernization, this new meaning of gongye was generally used in the context of embracing Western culture and creating industry. As industrialization emerged as a national mission, and new terminology was needed to express these new concepts, the Chinese characters used by the Japanese to translate Western concepts were directly imported and used without making any changes. Gongye was similar in meaning to gongeop (工業) (nowadays it means industry) at the time, and the two terms were used interchangeably. However, following the Japanese annexation of Korea, the cultural administration of the Governor-General imbued the term with artistic concepts, and gongye was differentiated from gongeop, As such, examining the establishment of terminology and concepts can be helpful for understanding the contradictions and problems of the Korean crafts scene, which were derived from a period in the past called the modern era.

  • This paper intends to say that children's worship as a liturgy for children living in modern society is an important place to support children's personal development and experience of coziness necessary for their personal development. To this end, this thesis first regards modern society as an unstable society, analyzes fluid society and individualism as the causes, and deals with changes in educational style accordingly. In a fluid society, children are not provided with a solid form and lasting environment that supports personality development, and the education style changed under the influence of individualism and pluralism requires a heavy task of determining the direction of one's life and constantly making choices and decisions. Therefore, children need rules and forms that help them live together, and they need a space that can give them comfort that helps them develop their personality. As an argument for this, second, this paper deals with the concept and function of the liturgy in order to understand the worship of children as the liturgy. The third deals with the elements necessary for the development of children's personality that can be experienced in children's worship. First, it deals with the meaning of religious, aesthetic, and communal driving forces that children can experience in children's worship, focusing on Eberhard's research. In addition, it deals with the meaning of language and expression methods provided in children's worship, and finally, it says that children's worship can be a space where you can experience stability and coziness. Through this, it is emphasized that children's worship can play an important role in supporting the personal development of children living in modern times.
