A study on the Architectural Characteristics of Kyungduk-Dan and Manun-Jae in Miryang -Mainly about the Characterics of Traditional Houses in modern era(1876-1945)- (밀양(密陽) 경덕단(景德壇)과 만운재(萬雲齋)의 건축적 특성 - 근대한옥의 성격을 중심으로 -)

  • This study is for the Kyungduk-Dan(as a altar of Milsung-Daegun) and The Manun-Jae the characteristics(lay out and planning, window patterns, structure, materials) of the the Korean traditional house during the modern era. Before Manun-Jae was used for the house. The Kyungduck-Dan was constructed in August according to the Lunar Calender in 1927. The Manun-Jae(house for Ki-hun Kang, millionaire ) was completed in 1924. Modern Architectures brought to Korea with the bricks, the tiles, the flash doors, the plate grasses, the brass hardwares. These architectural material was used in positive. During the construction of Manun-Jae in 1924, it happened the architectural exchage among a korean, a chinese and a japanese constructor. Though using the air exhaust valve at the kitchen of Ukyung-Kak( old Anchae), it could be assume that the modern convenience and the improvement of residential environments was considered at that period during the construction of Manun-Jae. That construction was elected with the brick($222mm{\times}106mm{\times}50mm$), the chinese colored tile and plate glass such a modem materials. The new shape of the korean lattice window and the wooden flash-door with glass was used. In Ukyung-Kak, the Chan-Maru(service space) and the kitchen such as a service space or concise utility zone was organically connected. Especially, considered the domesitic activity and circulation, the western kitchen sink and the Chan-Maru(service space) was rationally placed. At the Manun-Jae and the Kyungduck-Dan, the architectural characteristic is that the new shape of windows was used. The lattice window at the Ondol room of Ukyung-Kak, was rgadually added the plate glass and the wood plate. The lattice window with the grid shape at kitchen of that building was adapted japanese grid lattice window in korea at that period. It is the sample that korean traditional house was typically influenced from the japanese resident culture. The Manun-Jae and the Kyungduck-Dan as the modern house kept the form of korean traditional architecture, and was partially adapted a modern characteristic space and modern architectural materials.   • This article aims at rethinking on people of Modern styles in early modern period with reference to A Large River[Dae-Ha] written by Kim Nam-cheon at 1939. Park Sung-guoen could be called to Homo Economicus, first, have maximized of self-interest in rapid changes of Korea society with loan sharking, rising to upper class in new early modern era instead of traditional nobleman. Park Hyung-geol could be said romantic guy, second, have chased romatic love consist of three elements(love-sex-marriage). But he troubled his love affairs to his family members frustrated his will because of a bastard son. It is the model of situations, Kim Nan-cheon intended to describe, that Homo Economicus became an object of envy among people in early modern society as well as the choice has been hard in conflicting between family and lover, concretizing anachronism through history of family.

  • Feminist artists are special in Chinese modern art. Sticking to their own artistic ideas, they constantly emphasize women's psychological characteristics and aesthetic values in their works under the background of modern society. Since feminism was introduced into China from western arts in the 1970s, it has greatly inspired Chinese female artists. This study used comparative analysis and correlation analysis to establish the connection between the works of local Chinese female artists and modern women's wear design, this connection is the common language form of Chinese female artists and modern fashion designers when expressing female psychology and aesthetics. This is a way for Chinese female artists to seek dialogue with Western and global female art, and the development characteristics of the localization of feminism in Chinese art and design. The significance of the research is to improve the international artistic atmosphere of Chinese feminist art and instill a new understanding of Chinese feminist art in the world.

  • Modern society is rapidly developing into the Internet of Things and Big Data, and there are industries that develop even in the Corona era. However, the church is not developing and responding enough to the Corona era, and it is shaking the existence of the church itself. The essence of the church consists of worship, evangelism, education, service, and companionship. In the era of Corona, where non-face-to-face safety is important, the essence does not change, but efforts to embody the essence of the church in a socially responsible manner are needed. This paper discusses the social responsibility of the church in this respect, focusing on the five essential elements of the church. To this end, we examine the essential elements of the church and study the implementation methods suitable for the Corona era.

  • 'Sohawjang' is the first apartment house built in Busan the modern period, 1944. 'Sohawjang' needs to be apprised its value as an very important object of study with architectural and dwelling historic meaning because multi-family houses built in Japanese Rule Era that now exist in Korea are very rare. Thus, this study attempted to leave records to archive by conducting face to face interviews and surveying on 'Sohawjang' which is seriously in danger of extinction and its original form damage as the first step. Especially, around Korea's Liberation, this study tried to extract transformation characteristics of residential space and cultural differences appeared on differences of occupants having different nationality. Through these results, this study attempted to examine the era of apartment house and transformation characteristics and values of modern dwelling historic dimension according to changes of users appeared in Busan modern period. Through this study, it offers basic data about introduction and transition processes of an apartment house in Korea. It has an meaning of suggestion reference data for original form preservations or regenerations.

  • The advent of the information age, advancement of the multi-media, and proliferation of internet are all ushering-in a new era of a cyber world. The artistic expression is unfolding into a new genre of a new era.. In the modern art, the boundary between the fine art and the applied art is becoming blurred, and further, distinction of fine art from popular art is also becoming meaningless. The advancement of science and technology, by offering new materials and visual forms, is contributing to the expansion of the morden art's horizon. As fashion illustration is gaining recognition as a form of art which mirrors today's realities, it has also become increasingly necessary to add variety and newness. Fashion illustration is thus becoming the visual language of the modern world, capable of conveying artistic emotion, and at the same time able to effectively communicate the image of fashion to the masses. The increasing awareness of artistic talent and ingenuity as essential components of fashion illustration is yielding greater fusion between fashion illustration and art & technology. This has resulted in the use of the advanced computer technology as a tool for crafting artistic expressions, such as fashion illustration, and this new tool has opened-up new possibilities for expressing images and colors. Further, the computer-aided fashion illustration is emerging as a new technique for expression. The concept of fashion illustration, history of fashion illustration from its incepton to modern date is reviewed and the simplicity has been researched throughout past studies published in Korean and overseas Journals.

  • In the historical city center where overall development has not been made, it is not difficult to observe the asp ect of the urban change process over time accumulated. Seochon(西村), which collectively refers to 13 legal dong s in the west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, is also considered a representative historical village with high value as a historical and cultural cityscape because of historical context remains throughout the lot. Therefore, research ex amining the process of changing parcels in this area is useful for a more three-dimensional understanding of the presence of several layers of time. In this study, relationship between the opening time of each road, the river co ver process, and the current building establishment process is examined using maps after the pre-modern period and modern era. In addition, to examine the specific change process of individual lots using the old land register, building management ledger and cadastral map.

  • The modern agriculture has been damaged through the rapid changes due to the policy of the plundering of food during the Japanese colonial era, the Korean War, the industrialization, etc. The purpose of this research is to define the scope and the concepts of the modern agricultural heritages and to establish utilization standards of the modern agricultural heritages. With such a purpose, this research proceeds with three phases. First, the definitions the systems of the organizations the modern age and the modern agricultural heritages. Second, the analyses of the patterns and the special characteristics through the general investigation. Third, the regeneration through the comparative examinations of the case examples of the conflicts between the modern agricultural heritages. And the new attempts through the drawing of the new discussion points and the advanced tendencies are proposed. It is judged that this research will provide the point of the aim when looking at the modern agricultural heritages as the historical and cultural assets, and that it will provide the several principles when formulating the plans for the invigoration of the farm villages and the plans for the developments of the agricultural regions and provide the bases for the practical formulations.

  • The purpose of this research is to provide new direction on the field of the furniture design and to establish the identity of Korean furniture design as the flow of craft's juxtapose mixture era where it mix and match Korean traditional craft style materials with the modern furniture design. In other words, it is intended to create new furniture design and propose beautiful Korean luxury furniture design based on the precious unique culture with the traditional craft style, juxtaposition of modern furniture, and reinterpretation. It should grant artistic values that can satisfy consumers having various tastes and scarcity values, plus it should put out aesthetic and creative expressions in furniture design putting into the beautiful traditional craft form values. Furthermore, it is required to create new design through values and spirit, materials, techniques, forms, pattern, and usages by interacting, coordinating, and combining tradition and modern East and West, plus craft and design.

  • Modern interior design is expanding diversely, with the rapid development of technology and change of era. The basic of interior space that is rapidly changing consists of floor, wall and ceiling, and these are formed by materials, materials for structure or finishing materials. In the modern interior space, materials are utilized to present an atmosphere that meets the trend of the dissolution of post-modernism and the trend of minimalism. Accordingly, in this study, designers who take serious view on the relation of space and material, and the relation focusing on completed works, in modern interior design were investigated. The interrelation of the representation of each material, organic space, minimal space, and the space of Oriental fusion style were investigated through the works of modern interior designers, such as Karim Rashid and Ettore Sottsass.
