The purpose of this study is to derive the keywords of their characteristics through expressive films and to study how expressionism has been transformed and represented by putting them into modern space and to explore new perspectives and directions. First, the theoretical backgrounds of expressionism and expressive films were examined through the analysis of the existing researches, and the types of the characteristics of the space represented in the films were classified. Based on this, the representative expressive films were selected and the keywords of the characteristics of the expressive films were derived. A museum among modern spaces is a space that reflects the art trends and culture of the times and modern spaces are represented best in it. Also, recently the construction of museums has been vitalized and has explosively grown quantitatively and qualitatively, and shows diverse designs to the point that they are called the laboratory of modern architecture, so by analyzing the cases focusing on museums among modern spaces, the conclusion was derived. As a result, it could be seen that the expressive film space is represented diversely in the museums by the architects' inner desire of expression, centering on nonlinear expression, nonobjective form, and representational perception.

  • A modern museum has been changed from a passive place for simply exhibiting arts and antique collections to an interactive place for learning and experiencing culture and information. Such a functional change of the modern museum requires not only reorganizing fundamental characteristics of the modern museum, but also reforming organization of management teams, changing attitudes of staffs and assigning new roles to staffs for accepting the new thought and approach of visitors. That is, the function of the modem museum is not limited to collect arts and antique collections. The fundamental change of the modern museum further requires using the collections as a tool or a medium to provide a cultural exchange between the visitors and the museum, and to give new experience and information to the visitors. After proposing discussion that ' how, what, who is related to the museum? ', the way of thinking the museum is changed from ' collection ' to ' communication '. The change of the modern museum improves an educational role of the museum, and makes the museum as a communicator exchanging information and experience with visitors. In the last analysis, the modern museum is not just an exhibition medium that simply transfers information of the exhibition mediums to public. The modem museum is also a communication medium in order to collect information and transfer the collected information to the visitors. That is, the modern museum should provide various exhibition and communication mediums to the visitors for exchanging information and cultural experience. Therefore, the modern museum requires additional functions processing information suitable to the present environment and level of the museum, and transferring the information to public.

These were developed through processes such as domestic and foreign case studies, research on user's awareness, and theoretical investigation of modern Korean literature and subject guides in order to reflect characteristics unique to modern Korean literature which existed under special historical conditions. The results of acquiring actual data are as follows. First, this study acquired bibliographic data on 23,731 cases of works and information about figures regarding 117 authors of modern Korean literature. Second, this study covered raw data generated by the corresponding authors from 1894 to 1945 and the derived data generated by other authors until now on the basis of that. Third, an attempt was made to cluster the relevant information through arrangement system by author, genre and time period. The above-mentioned study results are regarded to be significant because an attempt is made to systematize and structure modern Korean literature existing in a complicated condition to such an extent that it was not possible for even the relevant academic world to find exact statistical data on author at that time.

  • Mourning culture has tended to be reduced to mere empty formalities with more simplified regulations. Changes in modern life style make it difficult to perform extended mourning ceremonies and the venues for mourning ceremony have shifted from private homes to chapels of rest in hospitals or Funeral Homes. Mourning clothing, the symbol of filial duty, has gradually been changed in shape. The study purposes were to research in the shapes of modern mourning clothing through field study on mourning clothing manufacturers and to compare traditional mourning clothing with the modern varieties through the actual making of traditional male mourning clothing based on old regulations. The study of mourning clothing through actual making prevents transformation and provides practical research data. The study methods were inquiry into old documents, field study, and actual clothing making. The study results are as follows. First, in terms of shape, traditional and modern mourning clothing are different in Garyeong, Lim and Daehacheok of Choiui. In case of Choisang, traditional clothing has one central plait in its front and rear sides while modern clothing one has 3 single plaits in each side. Second, in terms of sewing, traditional mourning clothing leaves an exterior margin to sew up in Choiui and an internal one in Choisang. However, modern mourning clothing has various types of sewing and plaits depending on the manufacturers and all sewing is done by machine. Third, in terms of material, traditional mourning clothing is made of Korean hemp and features narrow width, while modern clothing is made of Chinese hemp and features broad width.

  • The effects of carbon-ion irradiation on cancer cell telomere function have not been comprehensively studied. In our previous report cancer cells with telomere dysfunction were more sensitive to carbon-ion irradiation, but the underlying mechanisms remained unclear. Here we found that telomerase activity was suppressed by carbon-ion irradiation via hTERT down-regulation. Inhibition of telomere activity by MST-312 further increased cancer cell radiosensitivity to carbon-ion radiation. hTERT suppression caused by either carbon-ion irradiation or MST-312 impaired mitochondrial function, as indicated by decreased membrane potential, mtDNA copy number, mitochondrial mass, total ATP levels and elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS). PGC-$1{\alpha}$ expression was repressed after carbion-ion irradiation, and hTERT inhibition by MST-312 could further exacerbate this effect. Lowering the mitochondrial ROS level by MitoTEMPO could partially counteract the induction of cellular senescence induced by carbon-ion radiation and MST-312 incubation. Taken together, the current data suggest that telomere-mitochondrion links play a role in the induction of senescence in MCF-7 cells after carbon-ion irradiation.
