The relationship between job stress responses and occupational accident/illness, and the moderating effect of social support (직무스트레스 반응이 상해와 질병에 미치는 효과 및 사회적지원의 조절효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to review the relationship between job stress responses(physiological response, psychological response, behavioral response) and occupational accidents/illness, and the moderating effect of social support. Based on the responses from 187 employees in small & medium manufacturing industry, hierarchical regressional analysis showed that physiological response has positive relationship with accidents and illness, and psychological response has positive relationship with accident. Social support has partly moderating effect on the relationship between job stress responses and occupational accidents/illness.

The Effect of Organizational Justice on the Followership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior - the Moderating Effect of Leader-Member Exchange - (의료기관 사무직 종사자의 조직공정성이 Followership과 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향 - LMX 조절효과 -)

  • Purposes: Based on samples of government officials who are working at public health centers, following research examines the Effect of Organizational Justice on the relationships between Followership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior and analyzes the moderating effect of Leader-Member Exchange. Methodology: For the methods, Sphericity verification, Exploratory factor analysis, Correlation analysis, Causal relation, Mediating effect of followership and Moderating Effect of The Leader-Member Exchange have been analyzed with SPSS 22.0 & AMOS 22.0 Ver. Findings: As a result of Correlation analysis, Predictive validity and Construct validity have meaningful effect. Also, In case of Path analysis, distributive justice and interactional justice have meaningful effect but procedural justice has no such effect on Followership. As a result of Mediated effect of followership analysis, distributive and interactional justice have positive impact on (Organizational and Interpersonal). As to the mediation effect of followership analysis, It is shown that distributive and Followership have meaningful effect on In-group, not Out-group. Lastly, It is shown that procedural justice and Followership have no meaningful effect on both In-group and Out-group. Practical Implications: For the implications, distributive justice and interactional justice have positive impact on Followership, while procedural justice has no such impact on Followership. Also, It also possibly has same result to the moderating effect of Leader-Member Exchange. Consequently, It is recognized that a fair process without a fair result cannot be valued. also, We can know that reward for procedural justice is evaluated to kind of negative.

Moderating Effect of Empathy on the Relationship between Self-esteem and Aggression of Adolescents (청소년의 자아존중감이 공격성에 미치는 영향: 공감력의 조절효과)

  • This study aimed to investigate the moderating effect of empathy between adolescents' self-esteem and aggression. For this study, 542 adolescents were surveyed in B county of Gyeongsangbukdo in Korea. Data were analysed using reliability analysis, frequency analysis, mean comparison analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis for moderation. Major results are as follows. First, it was found out that adolescents' empathy were significantly different depending on gender, school level. But adolescents' aggression did not show any differences. Second, adolescents' aggression was negatively correlated with their self-esteem and empathy. Third, As a regression analysis, it was found that the male students showed a moderating effect of empathy between self-esteem and aggression, but the female students did not showed it. Based on these findings, it was suggested that programs for lowering aggressiveness of adolescents should be developed according to their environment and gender. In addition, the research through nationwide sampling, the research on the empathy related to the female students, and the study on the elementary school students were addressed.

Individualized Consideration Leadership Behavior and Employee's Organizational Commitment: The Moderating Effect of Need-for-Achievement (개별배려적 리더십행위와 구성원의 조직몰입: 성취욕구의 조절효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate hypotheses for the effects of leaders' individualized consideration leadership behaviors(Bass, 1985) and employee's organizational commitment. It is proposed that individualized consideration leadership behaviors will positively effect on employee's organizational commitment. And to understand the importance of followers' characteristics in recent leadership studies, it is also proposed that the follower's need for achievement(N-Arch) moderates in the relationship of individualized consideration leadership behaviors and organizational commitment. After descriptive survey, research model setup, and field survey, this empirical study investigated the above mentioned hypotheses thru SPSS for Windows 12.0. It involved linear regression analysis to reveal the significant main effect of the individualized consideration leadership behaviors. It also revealed moderating regression analysis to reveal the significant moderating effects of need for achievement between the independent variables(individualized consideration leadership behaviors) and dependent variable(the organizational commitment). Results revealed that leaders' individualized consideration leadership behaviors positively affected to its employee's organizational commitment(Hypothesis 1). And positive moderating effect of N-Arch was strongly supported between leader's individualized consideration leadership behaviors and follower's organizational commitment (Hypothesis 2).

The Effect of Academic Stress and the Moderating Effects of Academic Resilience on Nursing Students' Depression (간호대학생의 학업스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향과 학업탄력성의 조절효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of academic stress on depression suffered by college nursing students and the moderating effects of academic resilience. Methods: For this survey, 257 students (1st and 2nd year) participated, and it was performed over two weeks in September 2014. In this study, statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 18.0 for Windows and as a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The students' academic stress had a significant impact on their depression (${\beta}=.279$). The moderating effects of academic resilience did not have a significant impact, which is presumably as a result of there being more complex, nonlinear effects, rather than a simple, linear relationship between academic stress and resilience. Conclusion: It may be incorrect to assume that academic resilience is a moderating variable that lessens academic stress. It is implied that academic resilience can have a significant impact when internal and external support conditions are met, and that the effects can be reinforced when family support, a learning environment, and improved adaptability to life at school are also provided.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between interpersonal stress and job burnout, turnover intention of social welfare worker's in social welfare center and efficient response of welfare worker's. In order to accomplish this study purpose, the interpersonal stress of social welfare worker's in social welfare center as an independent variable, interpersonal stress as a dependent variable of job burnout and turnover intention, and stress coping ability as a moderating variable were selected. The causal relationship between interpersonal stress and job burnout, turnover intention and the moderating effect of stress coping ability were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the interpersonal stress of social welfare worker's showed a significant effect on job burnout and turnover intention. Also, moderating effects of stress copying ability were significant. Based on the results of this analysis, the theoretical implications and policy implications of this study are suggested, and the directions and limitations of this study are suggested.

Effects of Self-Criticism on Social Anxiety among College Students: Focus on Moderating Effects of Self-Foriveness (대학생의 자기비난이 사회불안에 미치는 영향: 자기용서의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examined the moderating effect of self-forgiveness on the relationship between self-criticism and social anxiety among male and female college students. This study included 441 college students (211 male and 230 female students) with an average age of 22.2. Pearson correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. As a result, the moderating effect of self-forgiveness on the relationship between self-criticism and social anxiety was significant for male students. A higher level of self-criticism tended to result in a higher level of social anxiety that was strengthened in the group of lower level of self-forgiveness versus a tendency for self-criticism to increase male social anxiety was weaker in the group with a higher level of self-forgiveness. However, the moderating effect of self-forgiveness was not significant in female students and only the main effect of self-criticism on social anxiety was significant. The results provide a basis to understand the psychological processes of social anxiety in college students. The results suggest the necessity to intervene and strengthen self-forgiveness as a protective factor to alleviate the negative effects of self-blame on social anxiety in male college students.

  • The study aims to identify the moderating effects of involvement on satisfaction, recommendation, and revisit intention in insect exhibition. Tourism motivation and involvement are crucial factors influencing visitors satisfaction. Particularly, the study aim to examine the moderating effects on tourism involvement between tourism motivation and visitors' satisfaction. Data were collected from 346 usable questionnaires among visitors of the pet insect competition. Results of a factor analysis yielded three dimensions of tourism motivation which are insect experience/learning, recreation/escape, and social and friendship. Hierarchical regression analysis indicates that insect experience/learning motivation and recreation/escape motivation influence visitors' satisfaction, Results also show that visitors' involvement has moderating effects on satisfaction. It was suggested that visitors' motivation and involvement be considered in insect exhibition and events.

  • This research examines the effects of organizational learning and network involvement, as well as many contextual factors, on power generation businesses' innovation capability and operational success in Vietnam. This research also aims to attest to the moderating roles of top management support and company age, and firm possession type in the power generation industry. This study applied the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and PLS-SEM approach for data analysis. In this research, we have tested hypotheses with data collected from 132 top managers and other key personnel from power generation companies in Vietnam. The results also attest to the moderating role of top management support on the two relationships between organizational learning - innovation capability and network involvement - innovation capability. Another important finding is that the company age has a negative impact on operational performance but shows a positive moderating role in the relationship between innovation capability and operational performance. This study highlights the central roles of organizational learning and innovation capability in impacting the organizational performance of power generation companies. These companies play a key role in supporting the development of industries in practice. This research also emphasizes the moderating roles of top management support and company age and possession type in practice.

Measuring Hotel Service Quality Using Social Media Analytics: The Moderating Effects of Brand of Origin

  • With the rapid advancement of social media analytics and artificial intelligence, many studies have used online customer reviews as an important source to measure service quality in many industries, including the hotel industry. However, these studies have failed to identify the relative importance of different dimensions of service quality and their role in customer satisfaction. To fill this research gap, this study aims to identify the effects of service quality on hotel customer satisfaction from the multidimensional perspectives using sentiment analysis with self-training on online reviews. Additionally, the moderating role of the brand of origin for each service quality dimension is also investigated. Drawing on the SERVQUAL model and brand of origin concept, this study develops 12 hypotheses and empirically tests them using 30,070 online customer hotel reviews collected from TripAdvisor.com. The results indicated that overall service quality and each dimension of SERVQUAL significantly influenced customer satisfaction of hotels. The results also confirmed the moderating effects of brand of origin on overall service quality. However, the moderating effects of brand of origin for the tangible, reliability, and empathy dimensions of service quality were significant, whereas the effects for responsiveness and assurance were not. This study sheds new light on service quality measurement by analyzing the multidimensional features of service quality and the role of brand of origin in the hotel service context.
