Measurement of flow around KRISO 138K LNG Carrier Model (KRISO 138K LNG 운반선 모형 주위의 국부 유동장 계측)

  • It is important to understand the flow characteristics such as wave and wake development around a ship for the design of the hull forms with better resistance and propulsive performance. The experimental results explicating the local flow characteristics are also invaluable for validation of the physical and numerical modeling of CFD codes, which are recently gaining acknowledgements as efficient tools for hull form evaluation This paper describes velocity and wave profiles measured in the towing tank for the KRISO 138K LNG Carrier (KLNG) model with propeller and rudder. The results contained in this paper can provide the valuable information on the effect of propeller and rudder on stern flow characteristics of the modern commercial hull form, furthermore, the present experimental data will provide important database for CFO validation.

  • Space systems are operating in a changing and uncertain space environment and are desired to have autonomous capability for long periods of time without frequent telecommunications from the ground station At the same time. requirements for new set of projects/systems calling for ""autonomous"" operations for long unattended periods of time are emerging. Since, by the nature of space systems, it is desired that they perform their mission flawlessly and also it is of extreme importance to have fault-tolerant sensor/actuator sub-systems for the purpose of validating science measurement data for the mission success. Technology innovations attendant on autonomous data validation and health monitoring are articulated for a growing class of autonomous operations of space systems. The greatest need is on focus research effort to the development of a new class of fault-tolerant space systems such as attitude actuators and sensors as well as validation of measurement data from scientific instruments. The characterization for the next step in evolving the existing control processes to an autonomous posture is to embed intelligence into actively control. modify parameters and select sensor/actuator subsystems based on statistical parameters of the measurement errors in real-time. This research focuses on the identification/demonstration of critical technology innovations that will be applied to Autonomous Spacecraft Health Monitoring/Data Validation Control Systems (ASHMDVCS).   • A concern about the ebXML concentrated, the necessity for Validation request among the ebXML sollutions has become both at home and abroad. There aren't any test implement for Validation of BPSS. The ebXML BPSS system establishment related to ebMS Standard Conformance and Interoperability is required. Scoping Review of Machine Learning and Deep Learning Algorithm Applications in Veterinary Clinics: Situation Analysis and Suggestions for Further Studies

  • Machine learning and deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms have been successfully applied in medical practice. However, their application in veterinary medicine is relatively limited, possibly due to a lack in the quantity and quality of relevant research. Because the potential demands for ML/DL applications in veterinary clinics are significant, it is important to note the current gaps in the literature and explore the possible directions for advancement in this field. Thus, a scoping review was conducted as a situation analysis. We developed a search strategy following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. PubMed and Embase databases were used in the initial search. The identified items were screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Information regarding model development, quality of validation, and model performance was extracted from the included studies. The current review found 55 studies that passed the criteria. In terms of target animals, the number of studies on industrial animals was similar to that on companion animals. Quantitative scarcity of prediction studies (n = 11, including duplications) was revealed in both industrial and non-industrial animal studies compared to diagnostic studies (n = 45, including duplications). Qualitative limitations were also identified, especially regarding validation methodologies. Considering these gaps in the literature, future studies examining the prediction and validation processes, which employ a prospective and multi-center approach, are highly recommended. Veterinary practitioners should acknowledge the current limitations in this field and adopt a receptive and critical attitude towards these new technologies to avoid their abuse.

  • By looking the importance of communication, data delivery and access in various sectors including governmental, business and individual for any kind of data, it becomes mandatory to identify faults and flaws during cyber communication. To protect personal, governmental and business data from being misused from numerous advanced attacks, there is the need of cyber security. The information security provides massive protection to both the host machine as well as network. The learning methods are used for analyzing as well as preventing various attacks. Machine learning is one of the branch of Artificial Intelligence that plays a potential learning techniques to detect the cyber-attacks. In the proposed methodology, the Decision Tree (DT) which is also a kind of supervised learning model, is combined with the different cross-validation method to determine the accuracy and the execution time to identify the cyber-attacks from a very recent dataset of different network attack activities of network traffic in the UNSW-NB15 dataset. It is a hybrid method in which different types of attributes including Gini Index and Entropy of DT model has been implemented separately to identify the most accurate procedure to detect intrusion with respect to the execution time. The different DT methodologies including DT using Gini Index, DT using train-split method and DT using information entropy along with their respective subdivision such as using K-Fold validation, using Stratified K-Fold validation are implemented.

Quantitative analysis and validation of naproxen tablets by using transmission raman spectroscopy

  • A transmission Raman spectroscopy-based quantitative model, which can analyze the content of a drug product containing naproxen sodium as its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), was developed. Compared with the existing analytical method, i.e., high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Raman spectroscopy exhibits high test efficiency owing to its shorter sample pre-treatment and measurement time. Raman spectroscopy is environmentally friendly since samples can be tested rapidly via a nondestructive method without sample preparation using solvent. Through this analysis method, rapid on-site analysis was possible and it could prevent the production of defective tablets with potency problems. The developed method was applied to the assays of the naproxen sodium of coated tablets that were manufactured in commercial scale and the content of naproxen sodium was accurately predicted by Raman spectroscopy and compared with the reference analytical method such as HPLC. The method validation of the new approach was also performed. Further, the specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, and robustness tests were conducted, and all the results were within the criteria. The standard error of cross-validation and standard error of prediction values were determined as 0.949 % and 0.724 %, respectively.

  • The M&S (Model and Simulation) has been increasingly used in the wide area of applications and the official certification or accreditation of the M&S are becoming a mandatory requirement to prevent the risks and mishaps caused by the usage of inadequate M&Ss or by misuses of the M&S. This paper threats the VV&A (Verification, Validation, and Accreditation) for the M&S used in the development of the aerospace systems, where most M&S used in the development are derived from the physical laws and the final validation data are typically obtained through a series of flight tests after the prototype production. Considering these unique features, the paper proposes the M&S life-cycle model and development paradigm suitable for the aerospace-system development and accesses the proposed ones by comparative investigation on the relevant regulations and related literatures.

  • A cryptographic module (CM) is an implementation of various cryptographic algorithms and functions by means of hardware or software, When a CM is validated or certified under the CM validation program(CMVP), a finite state model(FSM) of the CM should be developed and provided, However, guides or methods of modeling and analysis of a FSM is not well-known, because the guide is occasionally regarded as a proprietary know-how by developers as well as verifiers of the CM. In this paper, we propose a set of guides on modeling and analysis of a FSM, which is needed for validation of a CM under CMVP, and a transition test path generation algorithm, as well as implement a simple modeling tool (CM-Statecharter). A FSM of a CM is modeled by using the Statechart of UML 2.0, Statechart, overcoming weakness of a FSM, is a formal and easy specification model for finite state modeling of a CM.

APPLICATION OF LOGISTIC REGRESSION MODEL AND ITS VALIDATION FOR LANDSLIDE SUSCEPTIBILITY MAPPING USING GIS AND REMOTE SENSING DATA AT PENANG, MALAYSIA

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the hazard of landslides at Penang, Malaysia, using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing. Landslide locations were identified in the study area from interpretation of aerial photographs and from field surveys. Topographical and geological data and satellite images were collected, processed, and constructed into a spatial database using GIS and image processing. The factors chosen that influence landslide occurrence were: topographic slope, topographic aspect, topographic curvature and distance from drainage, all from the topographic database; lithology and distance from lineament, taken from the geologic database; land use from TM satellite images; and the vegetation index value from SPOT satellite images. Landslide hazardous area were analysed and mapped using the landslide-occurrence factors by logistic regression model. The results of the analysis were verified using the landslide location data and compared with probabilistic model. The validation results showed that the logistic regression model is better prediction accuracy than probabilistic model.

  • This paper presents a dynamic model for escalators to be used for the analysis and design of low vibration escalators. The dynamic model is developed so as to reflect the physical observation on peculiar characteristics such as the difference between up moving and down moving, and the resonance affected by the load applied. For validation of the dynamic model developed, experimental results are compared with numerical results from the model. The numerical study shows that the developed model is useful for analysis and design of escalator systems.
