  • The study tries to extend the Kang and Kim's model(1997) for evaluating fisheries damages caused by a large scale coastal reclamation. The paper tries to suggest a more generalized model by adopting new applicable variables such as the decreasing rate of production quantity amount and decreasing numbers of variables for simplification and derivation of quantative results. The paper also tries to suggest the decision model for fisheries administrative measures on the basis of the degree of damages.

A Study on the Application of Simulation-based Simplified PMV Regression Model for Indoor Thermal Comfort Control (실내 온열환경 쾌적 제어를 위한 단순 PMV 회귀모델의 적용에 관한 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • The PMV regression analysis was conducted for this model based on a database of the PMV variables. PMV regression model simplification was completed through sensitivity and data analysis. The simplified PMV regression model's and Fanger PMV model was confirmed through MAE and RMSE. And the EMS in EnergyPlus was used to establish a simplified PMV regression analysis-based thermal comfort control. Also, the thermal comfort controls based on simplified PMV model and the Fanger PMV model were applied to the building model, it was confirmed that both controls met the thermal comfort range in more than 90% of cases during the air conditioning period.

  • We reconstruct 3D surface from range image that consists of range map and texture map, and simplify the reconstructed triangular mesh. In this paper, we introduce fast simplification method that is able to glue texture to 3D surface model and adapt to real-time multipled level-of detail. We will verify the efficiency by applying to the scanned data of Korean relics.

  • In this study, underdeveloping heavy-load driving servo control system, which are composed of controller, electro-hydraulic servo-valve, hydraulic motor, reduction gear box, turret slew bearing and turret structure, are investigated to simplify the control system. To estimate the effect of each component, model ins and simulation of linear and nonlinear system are carried out. In the first stage, to prove the retiability of performance estimation pro-gram, simulation results are compared with experimental results. In the second stage, the effect of each component of control system is evaluated and then a simplified control system is suggested.

  • In general, spot welding is used at no welding rod or flux for the process, low welding point temperature compared to arc welding, short heating time, less damage to the parent material, and low deformation and residual stress, relatively. Also, because of the pressurization effect, better mechanical qualities of the welding parts are obtained. Therefore, in various fields of industry its rapid operation speed can make mass production possible such as motor industry. In FEM analysis for the spot welding process, it is effective to use simple modeling rather than complicated one because of its numerous number of spots and reduction of analysis time. Therefore, this study provides with not only simplification of modeling analysis by using beam component composition of structure without re-compositing the spot welding point mesh but also modeling analysis of which property of fracture strength is reflected. In addition complete spot welding model is examined at rectangular post shape (hat shape) by impact test, compared the results, and verified its validity. As a result, it is possible to optimize the welding position and to recognize the strength of structure and the proposed equal distance model shows the effect of welding point reduction and improvement of stiffness.

  • Since spent nuclear fuel assemblies (SFA) are transported to interim storage or final disposal facility after cooling the decay heat, finite element analysis (FEA) with simplification is widely used to show their integrity against cladding failure to cause dispersal of radioactive material. However, there is a lack of research addressing the comprehensive impact of shape and element simplification on analysis results. In this study, for the optimization of a typical pressurized water reactor SFA, different types of finite element models were generated by changing number of fuel rods, fuel rod element type and assembly length. A series of FEA in use of these different models were conducted under a shock load data obtained from surrogate fuel assembly transportation test. Effects of number of fuel rods, element type and length of assembly were also analyzed, which shows that the element type of fuel rod mainly affected on cladding strain. Finally, an optimal finite element model was determined for other practical application in the future.

A Watermarking Algorithm of 3D Mesh Model Using Spherical Parameterization (구면 파라미터기법을 이용한 3차원 메쉬 모델의 워더마킹 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a blind watermarking algorithm of 3d mesh model using spherical parameterization. Spherical parameterization is a useful method which is applicable to 3D data processing. Especially, orthogonal coordinate can not analyse the feature of the vertex coordination of the 3D mesh model, but this is possible to analyse and process. In this paper, the centroid center of the 3D model was set to the origin of the spherical coordinate, the orthogonal coordinate system was transformed to the spherical coordinate system, and then the spherical parameterization was applied. The watermark was embedded via addition/modification of the vertex after the feature analysis of the geometrical information and topological information. This algorithm is robust against to the typical geometrical attacks such as translation, scaling and rotation. It is also robust to the mesh reordering, file format change, mesh simplification, and smoothing. In this case, the this algorithm can extract the watermark information about $90{\sim}98%$ from the attacked model. This means it can be applicable to the game, virtual reality and rapid prototyping fields.

  • In order to analyse the thermal performance of battery systems in electric vehicles complex simulation models with high computational cost are necessary. Using reduced order methods, real-time applicable model can be developed and used for on-board monitoring. In this work a data driven model of the cooling plate as part of the battery system is built and derived from a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. The aim of this paper is to create a meta model of the cooling plate that estimates the temperature at the boundary for different heat flow rates, mass flows and inlet temperatures of the cooling fluid. In order to do so, the cooling plate is simulated in a CFD software (ANSYS Fluent ®). A data driven model is built using the design of experiment (DOE) and various approximation methods in Optimus ®. The model can later be combined with a reduced model of the thermal battery system. The assumption and simplification introduced in this paper enable an accurate representation of the cooling plate with a real-time applicable model.

New Discrete Curvature Error Metric for the Generation of LOD Meshes (LOD 메쉬 생성을 위한 새로운 이산 곡률 오차 척도)

  • This paper proposes a new discrete curvature error metric to generate LOD meshes. For mesh simplification, discrete curvatures are defined with geometric attributes, such as angles and areas of triangular polygonal model, and dihedral angles without any smooth approximation. They can represent characteristics of polygonal surface well. The new error metric based on them, discrete curvature error metric, increases the accuracy of simplified model by preserving the geometric information of original model and can be used as a global error metric. Also we suggest that LOD should be generated not by a simplification ratio but by an error metric. Because LOD means the degree of closeness between original and each level's simplified model. Therefore discrete curvature error metric needs relatively more computations than known other error metrics, but it can efficiently generate and control LOD meshes which preserve overall appearance of original shape and are recognizable explicitly with each level.

  • This paper proposes a robustness watermarking for 3D mesh model based on projection onto convex sets (POCS). After designing the convex sets for robustness and invisibility among some requirements for watermarking system, a 3D-mesh model is projected alternatively onto two constraints convex sets until the convergence condition is satisfied. The robustness convex set are designed for embedding the watermark into the distance distribution of the vertices to robust against the attacks, such as mesh simplification, cropping, rotation, translation, scaling, and vertex randomization. The invisibility convex set are designed for the embedded watermark to be invisible. The decision values and index that the watermark was embedded with are used to extract the watermark without the original model. Experimental results verify that the watermarked mesh model has invisibility and robustness against the attacks, such as translation, scaling, mesh simplification, cropping, and vertex randomization.
