  • In relation to digital elevation model(DEM) production using high resolution satellite imagery, existing studies present that DEM accuracy differently show according to land cover property. This study therefore proposes auto-selection method of window size for correlation matching according to land cover property of IKONOS Geo-level stereo image. For this, land cover classified image is obtained by IKONOS color image with four bands. In addition, correlation-coefficients are computed at regular intervals in pixels of the window-search area to shorten of matching time. As the results, DEM by the proposed method showed more accurate than DEM using the fixed window-size matching. We estimate that accuracy of the proposed DEM improved more than DEM by digital map and ERDAS in agricultural land.

  • Recently, the concept of zero trust has been introduced, and it is necessary to strengthen the security elements required for the next-generation security control system. Also, the security paradigm in the era of the 4th industrial revolution is changing. Cloud computing and the cybersecurity problems caused by the dramatic changes in the work environment due to the corona 19 virus continue to occur. And at the same time, new cyber attack techniques are becoming more intelligent and advanced, so a future security control system is needed to strengthen security. Based on the core concept of doubting and trusting everything, Zero Trust Security increases security by monitoring all communications and allowing strict authentication and minimal access rights for access requesters. In this paper, we propose a security enhancement plan in the security control field through a zero trust security model that can understand the problems of the existing security control system and solve them.

  • This study was to quantitatively evaluate periodic and maximum energy loads for broiler-standard design models by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (2016). Building energy simulation method was used to compute heating and cooling loads of the designed broiler houses according to regional locations and insulation characteristics of wall and roof. It considered sensible and latent heat generation from broilers, dynamic operation of ventilation system according to environment variations. It was found that variation of periodic heating loads was relatively higher than that of periodic cooling loads according to thickness changes of wall and roof. Assuming that broiler was raised at every even-month, periodic heating and cooling loads were 6 and 18% lower, respectively than odd-month raising condition. When recommendation rules of insulation characteristics (wall and roof thickness) by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was adopted, periodic heating load of Jeju-si was 20.3% higher than national average values. Based on the BES computed periodic and maximum energy loads under the designed experimental condition, these results can contribute to reestablishing standard design of broiler houses, especially for insulation characteristics, and designing management strategies for efficient energy uses.

  • One of the main factor that effects on the CN's value in SCS Curve Number method for the estimation of direct runoff is the antecedent soil moisture condition (AMC). It is also common to use the AMC-III in hydrologic practice, which provides the largest runoff as possible. In this paper, AMC defending on the rainfall characteristics is analyzed using daily rainfall data at rainy season (June~September) of the Seoul station from 1961 to 2002. The probability mass function of AMC is also investigated to analyze the variation of AMC based on climate change, scenarios from several General Circulation Model (GCM) predictions. As a results we can find that the occurrence of AMC-I is reduced, and AMC-III is increased, whereas AMC-II does not change.

  • Due to unusual climate change and global warming, drought and flood happen frequently not only in Korea but also in all over the world. It leads to the serious damages and injuries in urban areas as well as rural areas. Since the concentration time is short and the flood flows increase urgently in urban stream basin, the chances of damages become large once heavy storm occurs. A decision support system for flood forecasting and warning in urban stream is developed as an alternative to alleviate the damages from heavy storm. It consists of model base management system based on ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System), database management system with real time data building capability and user friendly dialog generation and management system. Applying the system to the Tanceon river basin, it can forecast and warn the stream flows from the heavy storm in real time and alleviate the damages.

  • The latest earthquake's costly repairs and economic disruption were brought on by excessive residual drift. Self-centering systems are one of the most efficient ways in the current generation of seismic resistance system to get rid of and reduce residual drift. The mechanics and behavior of the self-centering system in response to seismic forces were impacted by a number of important factors. The amount of post-tensioning (PT) force, which is often employed for the standing posture after an earthquake, is the first important component. The energy dissipater element is another one that has a significant impact on how the self-centering system behaves. Using the damper as a replaceable and affordable tool and fuse in self-centering frames has been recommended to boost energy absorption and dampening of structural systems during earthquakes. In this research, the self-centering steel moment frame connections are equipped with cushion flexural dampers (CFDs) as an energy dissipator system to increase energy absorption, post-yielding stiffness, and ease replacement after an earthquake. Also, it has been carefully considered how to reduce permanent deformations in the self-centering steel moment frames exposed to seismic loads while maintaining adequate stiffness, strength, and ductility. After confirming the FE model's findings with an earlier experimental PT connection, the behavior of the self-centering connection using CFD has been surveyed in this study. The FE modeling takes into account strands preloading as well as geometric and material nonlinearities. In addition to contact and sliding phenomena, gap opening and closing actions are included in the models. According to the findings, self-centering moment-resisting frames (SF-MRF) combined with CFD enhance post-yielding stiffness and energy absorption with the least amount of permeant deformation in a certain CFD thickness. The obtained findings demonstrate that the effective energy dissipation ratio (β), is increased to 0.25% while also lowering the residual drift to less than 0.5%. Also, this enhancement in the self-centering connection with CFD's seismic performance was attained with a respectable moment capacity to beam plastic moment capacity ratio.

  • Based on the Greek myth of Pygmalion and the fairy tale of Cinderella, Shaw's Pygmalion demonstrates a masterful coalescence of these two narrative motifs into a coherent plot scheme. Even more significant is his keen insight into the conflicts created at the tripartite intersection of human activity concerning language/class/culture, which, as the leitmotif, revolves around lessons in language learning. This play basically deals with human transformation and by its very nature, Higgins's experimentation with transforming Eliza cannot stop at language alone. Her cultural transformation ripples over into the realms of gesture and even a unique way of living (modus vivendi) intimately associated with taste and manners, which Bourdieu terms as habitus. By acquiring a new fashion and language, Eliza is reborn as a new lady aspiring to be filled with a newly acquired habitus. While separating her from her old Cockney style, Higgins inculcates Queen's English in Eliza, in which process her changed speech styles gradually transforms and restructures her deportment and manners, finally generating new practices, perceptions and attitudes. The gist of Pygmalion is however less Eliza's ascent into the middle class than her battle for symbolic capital waged at the level of language. By problematizing his contemporary practice of habitus conventionalized and warped by class distinctions based on economic, social and cultural capitals, Shaw creates a new humanist model of man founded on spiritual and rational virtues. In conclusion, Eliza is not a frigid Galatea but a dynamic character that goes through a brilliant transformation of three stages: 1) linguistic; 2) cultural, and 3) humanist. Finally she is built into a "consort battleship" on an equal standing with her sculptor. The process of her character-building cannot be illuminated without resorting to the dynamic notion of habitus, which highlights the process of inculcation, structuring, generation and transposing. Given the overwhelming weight of the heroine's role and the dynamic process of her transformation as the major plot scheme, this play should be christened Galatea in lieu of Pygmalion.

  • Since 2018, due to climate change, heat waves and cold waves have caused gradual damage to social infrastructure. Since the damage caused by cold weather has increased every year due to climate change in recent 4 years, the damage that was limited to a specific area is now appearing all over the country, and a lot of efforts are being concentrated from experts in various fields to minimize this. However, it is not easy to study real-time observation of sudden abnormal low temperature in existing studies to reflect local characteristics in discontinuously measured data. In this study, based on the weather-related data that affects the occurrence of cold-weather damage, we developed an algorithm pattern that can identify the time when abnormal cold temperatures occurred after searching for weather patterns at the time of cold-weather damage. The results of this study are expected to be of great help to the related field in that it is possible to confirm the time when the abnormal low temperature occurs due to the data generated in real time without relying on the past data.
