다양한 실내 환경에서의 $CO_2$ 농도 변화 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of $CO_2$ Concentration Variation According to the Indoor Space Condition Changes)

  • Air quality of indoor space environment is affected by various pollutants like as particles and chemical stuffs. The indoor air pollution affects directly the human respiration organs to cause consequently unpleasant mental status. The $CO_2$ concentration level is one of the harmful components of air pollutants. Major factor to increase the $CO_2$ concentration level is the people's breath amount in indoor. The car exhaust gas diffused from the around road also has strong affect on $CO_2$ concentration. There are some other reasons to affect the $CO_2$ concentration change, such as, real-time change of the population movement, closeness to the indoor air flow inlet window and changes in road car traffic amount. A remote monitoring system to measure environmental indoor air pollution concerning on the $CO_2$ concentration was studied and installed realized set-up model. Zigbee network configuration was applied for this system and the $CO_2$ concentration data were collected through USN network. A software program was developed to assure systematic analysis and to display real-time data on web pages. For the experimental test various condition was set up, like as, window opening, stopping air condition operation and adjusting fan heater work, etc. The analysis result showed the relation of various environmental conditions to $CO_2$ concentration changes. The causes to increase $CO_2$ concentration were experimentally defined as windows closing, the stopping air condition system, fan heater operation. To keep the $CO_2$ concentration under the legally required ppm level in public access indoor space, the developed remote measurement system will be usefully applied.

Identifying the bona fide VeLLOs in the Gould Belt's clouds

  • We present results of searching for the Very Low Luminosity Objects (VeLLOs; internal luminosity Lint<0.1Lo) candidates in the Gould Belt's clouds using infrared observations from 3.6 to 70 micron by the Spitzer Space Telescope. More than 100 VeLLO candidates were selected through the criteria by Dunham et al. and our additional ones. The candidates in Northern sky were recently observed with high density tracers such as N2H+ (1-0) and HCN (1-0) using Korea VLBI Network (KVN) 21m telescope at Yonsei site to check their embeddedness in dense gas envelopes. A total of 25 out of 74 VeLLO candidates were detected in either N2H+ or HCN (1-0) line while 9 candidates were detected in both tracers. These are more likely bona fide VeLLOs which need to be studied further in future. In this study the bolometric luminosities for 40 VeLLOs (25 from this study and 15 from Dunham et al.) were estimated and found to be significantly smaller than those given by various theoretical model tracks with constant accretion rate in a BLT diagram, indicating the constant accretion process suggested by standard star formation models can not explain the faintness of the VeLLOs. In the talk we will discuss on some possible explanation of why the VeLLOs are faint.

  • 본 연구에서는 상반상반정리가 성립되는 선형계의 경우에 있어서 회전체를 회 전시키지 않고 시험추도 사용하지 않으며 베어링부를 가진하는 것에 의한 영향계수 측 정법을 제안한다. 대상으로 하는 영향계수는 베어링부와 각 수정점 사이의 영향계수 로서 비회전가진실험에 의해 베어링부에 힘을 가한 경우의 각 수정점에서의 비회전 영 향계수를 측정한다. 회전시험에서는 베어링부에 시험추를 부가하는 것이 구조상 곤 란하므로 각 수정점에 시험추를 부착하여 각 수정점에 힘을 가한 경우에 대한 베어링 부에서의 영향계수를 측정한다.그리고 수치계산으로 전달매트릭스법에 의해 베어링 부에 시험추를 부착하고 회전체를 회전시켜 각 수정점에서의 회전영향계수를 계산하고 실험결과와 비교한다. 상에서 구하여진 비회전과 회전영향계수의 실험결과를 비교하 므로서 비회전 영향계수의 특성을 파악하고, 이를 이용하여 탄성회전체의 평형잡이를 하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다.

초전도 전력 케이블 냉각 시스템 적용을 위한 극저온 터보 팽창기 설계 및 해석 (Design and Analysis of Cryogenic Turbo Expander for HTS Power Cable Refrigeration System)

  • The cryogenic cooling system should maintain the HTS power cable below 77 K. As the length of HTS power cables has increased, there have been many efforts to develop large capacity cryocoolers. Brayton, Joule-Thomson, and Claude refrigerators were considered for the large capacity cryocooler. Among the various cryocoolers, the Brayton refrigerator is the most competitive in terms of the HTS power cable. At present, it is thought that a 10-kW class refrigerator will be able to be used as a unit cooling system for the commercialization of HTS power cables in the near future. The Brayton refrigerator is composed of recuperative heat exchangers, a compressor, and a cryogenic turbo expander. Among the various components, the cryogenic turbo expander is the part that decreases the temperature, and it is the most significant component that is closely related with overall system efficiency. It rotates at high speed using high-pressure helium or neon gas at cryogenic temperatures. This paper describes the design of a 300-W class Brayton refrigeration cycle and the cryogenic turbo expander as a downscale model for the practical 10-kW class cycle. Flow and structural analyses are performed on the rotating impeller and nozzle to verify the efficiency and the design performance.

Scopolamine 처리에 의한 인지 및 기억력 손상 마우스에서 박하의 효과 (Mentha arvensis Attenuates Cognitive and Memory Impairment in Scopolamine-treated Mice)

  • Mentha arvensis is used traditional medicine to treat various disorders. In the present study, M. arvensis were extracted by the solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method and analyzed by gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). We investigated the protective effects and mechanisms of a M. arvensis extract on scopolamine-induced cognitive and memory impairment. Mice were orally pretreated with a M. arvensis extract or normal saline, and then behavior tests were conducted 30 min after scopolamine injection. The antioxidant capacities were analyzed by free radical scavenging (DPPH and ABTS). Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity were also measured using Ellman's method ex vivo test. In behavior tests, percent of spontaneous alteration, escape latency and swimming time in target quadrant were improved by the administration of the M. arvensis extract, which suggests that the M. arvensis extract improves memory function in the scopolamine-treated mice model. In addition, M. arvensis extract showed inhibition of the free radical and AChE activity. The results of the present study suggest that the M. arvensis extract ameliorates scopolamine-induced cognitive and memory deficits through the inhibition of free radicals and AChE activity. Therefore, M. arvensis may be a promising neuroprotective agent for management of learning and memory improvements in human dementia patients.

Biohydrogen production from engineered microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

  • The green microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtti is well-known specie in the terms of $H_2$ production by photo fermentation and has been studying for a long time. Although the $H_2$ production yield is promising; there are some bottlenecks to enhance the yield and efficiency to focus on a well-designed, sustainable production and also scaling up for further studies. D1 protein of photosystem II (PSII) plays an important role in photosystem damage repair and related to $H_2$ production. Because Chlamydomonas is the model algae and the genetic basis is well-studied; metabolic engineering tools are intended to use for enhanced production. Mutations are focused on D1 protein which aims long-lasting hydrogen production by blocking the PSII repair system thus $O_2$ sensitive hydrogenases catalysis hydrogen production for a longer period of time under anaerobic and sulfur deprived conditions. Chlamydomonas CC124 as control strain and D1 mutant strains(D240, D239-40 and D240-41)are cultured photomixotrophically at $80{\mu}mol\;photons\;m^{-2}s^{-1}$, by two sides. Cells are grown in TAP medium as aerobic stage for culture growth; in logarithmic phase cells are transferred from aerobic to an anaerobic and sulfur deprived TAP- S medium and 12 mg/L initial chlorophyll content for $H_2$ production which is monitored by the water columns and later detected by Gas Chromatography. Total produced hydrogen was $82{\pm}10$, $180{\pm}20$, $196{\pm}20$, $290{\pm}30mL$ for CC124, D240, D239-40, D240-41, respectively. $H_2$ production rates for mutant strains was $1.3{\pm}0.5mL/L.h$ meanwhile CC124 showed 2-3 fold lower rate as $0.57{\pm}0.2mL/L.h$. Hydrogen production period was $5{\pm}2days$ for CC124 and mutants showed a longer production time for $9{\pm}2days$. It is seen from the results that $H_2$ productions for mutant strains have a significant effect in terms of productivity, yield and production time.

고순도 수소제조를 위한 PSA 공정에서 활성탄 충전길이 효과 (Effects of activated carbon packing length in PSA process for production of high-purity hydrogen)

  • 수소 등 다성분 혼합가스로부터 고순도의 수소를 얻기 위한 PSA 조업에 있어서 흡착탑 내 활성탄 층 충전길이의 효과를 연구하였다. 기-고상 간 물질전달은 LDF 식을 사용하였고 각 조성물질의 비선형 흡착등온선으로 변형 Langmuir 식을 사용하였다. 각각 다른 흡착성능을 가진 활성탄과 제올라이트 2개의 흡착제를 한 개의 흡착탑 내에 연속 충전시킨 결과 제품의 순도와 회수율 면에서 흡착제의 충전길이 비가 매우 중요하였다. 120 cm인 흡착탑 내 최적의 활성탄 층 길이는 $CO_2$ 농도가 최종 제거되는 부위로 결정되는데 이 때 제품의 최고 순도를 나타내는 지점이 65cm였다.

인산형 연료전지용 메탄올 연료개질기의 운전 특성 (Operational Characteristics of Methanol Reformer for the Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell System)

  • 본 논문은 5.9kW급 인산형 연료전지 발전시스템의 운전에 필요한 메탄올 연료개질기의 설계와 이의 운전 특성에 관한 것이다. 연료개질장치는 메탄올을 연소용 및 개질용연료로 사용하며, 개 질 반응 촉매는 CuO-ZnO계를 사용하고, 개질 반응기는 단일 환형 반응기 형태로 설계하였다. 개질 장치의 일산화탄소 생성 특성은 전체적으로 이론적인 평형값에는 도달하지 못하였으나, 반응온도가 증가할수록 농도가 증가하였으며, 개질 연료의 물/메탄올 몰비가 증가하면 감소하였다. 정격운전에서 촉매반응기의 축방향 온도분포는 이론적인 값과 잘 일치하였으며, 운전 개시후 50분 훈에 정상 운전이 가능하였다. 개질 시스템의 효율은 정격운전에서는 72.3%, 1/4 부하에서는 77%로 부하가 증가할수록 효율은 감소하였다. 개질기를 연료전지 본체와 연계운전시 개질기에 개질용 메탄올 및 연소용 메탄올의 공급유량이 각각 88.1 mol/h, 50.0mol/h 인 경우 정격전압인 37.6V의 전안에서 안정적인 5.5 kWh의 전력을 생산 할 수 있었다.

도자기 1차 소성로의 3차원 유동장 수치해석에 관한 연구 (A Numerical Study of the 3-D Flow in the Primary Calcinator of Porcelain)

  • 상용 code인 Fluent를 이용하여 도자기의 1차 소성로에 대해 온도장과 속도장을 계산하고 열효율을 산출하였다. 수치해석의 변수로는 배출구 및 도자기의 위치를 변화시켰으며, 수치해석 방법은 검사체적에 기초한 유한차분방법 및 Upwind scheme과 SIMPLEC Algorithm을 사용하였고 난류모델로는 표준 k-$\varepsilon$ 모델을 사용하였다. 계산결과 출구 위치가 전체 소성로내 벡터유동의 양상을 크게 좌우하는 것으로 나타났으며, 전체 온도장에 대해서는 복사의 영향으로 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 예열대 상부에 출구가 있는 경우와 비교할 때 예열대 또는 냉각대의 측면에 출구가 있는 경우에 그 영역의 온도가 다소 높게 나타났다. 소성품의 위치는 로내 유동장 및 온도 분포에 크게 영향을 끼치지는 않으나 소성품 내 온도는 그 위치하는 영역의 온도 분포에 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 예열대 상부에 출구가 있는 경우 열효율은 17%로 매우 저조하였고 출구에서의 가스온도는 약 1000 K로 매우 높았다.

토지이용변화에 따른 식생 및 토양의 이산화탄소 저감잠재량 분석 (The Analysis of Potential Reduction of CO2 Emission In Soil and Vegetation due to Land use Change)

  • Land Use Changes (LUCs) have effects on greenhouse gas emissions and carbon stocks in soil and vegetation. Therefore, predictions for LUC are very important for achieving quantitative targets of $CO_2$ reduction rates. Some research exists on carbon fluxes and carbon cycles to estimate carbon stocks in terrestrial ecosystems in Korea. However, these researches have limitations in terms of helping us understand future potential reductions of $CO_2$ that reflect the influence of LUC. The aim of this study is to analyze the reduction levels of $CO_2$ emissions while considering LUC scenarios that effect carbon fluxes for LCS basic study in the year 2030. In this study, a common approach to model the effects of LUC on carbon stocks is the use of CA-Markov technical process with LUC patterns in the past. Potential reduction of $CO_2$ is calculated by change of land use that contains different soil organic carbon, each land use type, and biomass in vegetation. An IPCC analytical method of natural carbon sink and coefficient results from previous study in Korea is used as a calculation method for potential reduction of $CO_2$. As a result, 12,419 KtC will be reduced annually, which is 8.3% percent of 2005 $CO_2$ emissions in Korea. This will result in 3,226 hundred million won of economic efficiency. In conclusion, conservation of natural carbon sinks is necessary even if the amount of potential reduction change is little.
