  • This paper proposes a robust model following control systems with nonlinear time varying plant. which realies good properties such as asymptotic stability, disturbance rejection and model-following with reduced sensitivity for plant parameter variation. The schemes do not incorporate any parameter identification algorithms, but the adaptation is realized through signal synthesis in a fixed parameter structure.

  • The car-following model is one of core models in Advanced Vehicle & Highway Systems (AVHS). The car-following model has been developed in aspects such as human factor and reduction error rates. However, the consideration of safety depending on weather condition has not been completed yet. In this paper, therefore, changes of driving condition for car-following due to different road condition were dealt with, and optimal safety distance corresponding to road condition such as dry, wet and snowy were computed. The GMIT(GM Model with Instantaneous T) model was picked over for simulation of adaptive cruise control applied the suggested optimal safety distance. As the results, the 1.7 times longer safety distance was required for wet road condition than dry road condition, and the 5.6 times longer safety distance was required for snowy road condition.

  • Regulation of Visible Light Transmission Percentage (VLT%) has been argued because it was known that the degree of darkness of tinted vehicle can affect to driving maneuver. Previously, it was proven that low level of VLT affects capacity reduction. But, due to lack of field data they could not analyze the effect of Car-Following model parameters. This study focuses on the effect of a tinted vehicle on following traffic flow. RTK GPS receiving data through field experiment analyzed based on headway distance, acceleration noise, sensitivity, and reaction time. As a result of analysis through GM 1st Model and 3rd Model, influence of following vehicle vary inversely with VLT and risk according as tinting of lead vehicle is third vehicle bigger than second vehicle. Also the results patterns of GM 3rd model include distance-headway are same with GM 1st Model. In the further need to research for influence analysis of traffic flow stability by the level of VLT.

  • This paper proposes a performance improvement to a control system with optimal state feedback control. In this paper, a simple and direct design procedure is proposed to design the model following controller. The scheme is implemented in a 16 bit micromputer with math corprocessor. Tests on a DC machine have been conducted.

  • The aim of this paper is to suggest a design method of the model following optimal boiler-turbine H.inf. control system using genetic algorithm. This boiler-turbine H.inf. control system is designed by applying genetic algortihm with reference model to the optimal determination of weighting functions and design parameter .gamma. that are given by Glover-Doyle algornithm whch can design H.inf. contrlaaer in the sate. space. The first method to do this is ghat the gains of weightinf functions and .gamma. are optimized simultaneously by genetic algroithm. And the second method is that not only the gains and .gamma. but also the dynamics of weighting functions are optimized at the same time by genetic algonithm. The effectiveness of this boiler-turbine H.inf. control system is verified and compared with LQG/LTR control system by computer simulation.

  • In this paper, GMDH(Group Method of Data Handling) algorithm, which is based on heuristic self organization to predict and identify the complex system, is applied to the control system of DC servo motor. The mathematical relation between input voltage and motor speed is obtained by GMDH algorithm. A design method of model following control system based on GMDH algorithm is developed. As a result of applying this method to DC servo motor, the simulation and experiment have shown that the developed method gives a good performance in tracking the reference model and in rejection of disturbance, in spite of constant load and changing load.

  • In this paper, design of the regulator and model following is studied controller on servomechanism for discrete time system. The design of the servomechanism controller is studied on the method of mode1 following controller for the output of the process to follow the output of its model. Furthermore, a common approach to eliminate disturbance and steady-state error between the outputs of the process and its model is to introduce an integrator into the control loop itself. They are eliminated when we incorporate the integrator into the closed loop system.

  • In this paper, Model following PID control system, which is combined PID controller with Model Reference Adaptive Controller, is proposed. To decrease complex and much calculation which is produced in tuning process, the tuning method of parameter with fuzzy algorithm is introduced. Fuzzy algorithm isn't used in the form of controller generally much used, but tuner. Experimental results show that proposed controller has the PID parameter be tuned by fuzzy algorithm. Therefore, We expect model following PID to be operated in the real-time control.

  • In this paper, the power system stabilizer(PSS) using the sliding mode observer-model following(SMO-MF) with closed-loop feedback (CLF) for single machine system is extended to multimachine system. This a multimachine SMO-MF PSS for unmeasureable plant state variable is obtained by combining the sliding mode-model following(SM-MF) including closed-loop feedback(CLF) with the full-order observer(FOO). And the estimated control input for unmeasurable plant sate variables is derived by Lyapunov's second method to determine a control input that keeps the system stable. Time domain simulation results for the torque angle and for the angular velocity show that the proposed multimachine SMO-MF PSS including CLF for unmeasurable plant sate variables is able to damp out the low frequency oscillation and to achieve asymptotic tracking error between the reference model state at different initial conditions and at step input.

  • This paper presents an algorithm to design a robust digital model following servo control system in which optimal linear quadratic regulator problem is used to design the control system that make the step/ramp response of the plant kept close to a specified ideal step/ramp response of the model. The quadratic criterion function for a continuous system is used to design the robust digital servo control system. The feasibility of the design technique is shown by the simulation and the proposed method is applied to the speed control of DC servo motor.
