전력용 변압기 보호를 위한 통합보호제어장치의 하드웨어 설계와 실시간 성능 시험 (Real-time Testing and Hardware Design of Intelligent Electronic Device for Power Transformer Protection)

  • This paper proposes a prototype IED hardware design and it's real-time experimental results. To evaluate performance of the IED, the study is well constructed power system model including power transformer utilizing the EMTP software and the testing is made through simulation of various cases. The relaying that is well constructed using DSP chip and RISC CPU etc. has been developed and the prototype IED has been verified through on-line testing by LabVIEW simulator. The results show that an advanced relaying based prototype IED never mis-operated.

  • This paper describes a newly-developed analysis methodology in comprehensive vibration assessment program (CVAP) of reactor internals to develop a valid-prototype for the design of nuclear power plants. The new analysis methodology developed in this study will be confirmed through a scale model testing (SMT). Based on the measurements obtained from dynamic pressure transducers in the SMT, a new non-dimensional equation is developed to apply the forcing functions at reactor internals for the prototype. In addition to the new non-dimensional equation, a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) is used to develop the application of the hydraulic loads at reactor internals for the prototype.

  • The design functionality put forward by mapping the interactiveness of information. The presentation of such information with the user interface model indicates that the guidelines, concepts, and workflows form the deliverables and milestones for achieving a visualized design, therefore forming the right trend is significant to ensure compliance in terms of changing consideration and applying evaluation in the early stages. It is evidenced that prototype design is guided by improvement specifications, includes modes, and variables that increase improvements. The study presents five user interface testing methods. The testing methods are heuristic evaluation, perspective-based user interface testing, cognitive walkthrough, pluralistic walkthrough, and formal usability inspection. It appears that the five testing methods can be combined and matched to produce reasonable results. At last, the study presents different mobile application designs for student projects besides the evaluation of mobile application designs to consider the user needs and usability.

  • A popular method used by primary protection for power transformer is current ratio differential relaying (RDR) with 2nd harmonic restraints. In modern power transformer due to the use of low-loss amorphous material, the 2nd harmonic component during inrush is significantly reduced. The higher the capacitance of the high voltage status and underground distribution, the more the differential current includes the 2nd harmonic component during internal fault. Thus the conventional method may not operate properly. This paper proposes an advanced relaying algorithm and the prototype IED hardware design and it's real-time experimental results. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, the study is well constructed power system model including power transformer utilizing the EMTP software and the testing is made through simulation of various cases. The proposed relaying that is well constructed using DSP chip and microprocessor etc. has been developed and the prototype IED has been verified through on-line testing. The results show that an advanced relaying based prototype IED never mis-operated and correctly identified all the faults and that inrushes that are applied.

Surface Roughness Impact on Francis Turbine Performances and Prediction of Efficiency Step Up

  • In the process of turbine modernizations, the investigation of the influences of water passage roughness on radial flow machine performance is crucial and validates the efficiency step up between reduced scale model and prototype. This study presents the specific losses per component of a Francis turbine, which are estimated by CFD simulation. Simulations are performed for different water passage surface roughness heights, which represents the equivalent sand grain roughness height. As a result, the boundary layer logarithmic velocity profile still exists for rough walls, but moves closer to the wall. Consequently, the wall friction depends not only on roughness height but also on its shape and distribution. The specific losses are determined by CFD numerical simulations for each component of the prototype, taking into account its own specific sand grain roughness height. The model efficiency step up between reduced scale model and prototype value is finally computed by the assessment of specific losses on prototype and by evaluating specific losses for a reduced scale model with smooth walls. Furthermore, surveys of rough walls of each component were performed during the geometry recovery on the prototype and comparisons are made with experimental data from the EPFL Laboratory for Hydraulic Machines reduced scale model measurements. This study underlines that if rough walls are considered, the CFD approach estimates well the local friction loss coefficient. It is clear that by considering sand grain roughness heights in CFD simulations, its forms a significant part of the global performance estimation. The availability of the efficiency field measurements provides an unique opportunity to assess the CFD method in view of a systematic approach for turbine modernization step up evaluation. Moreover, this paper states that CFD is a very promising tool for future evaluation of turbine performance transposition from the scale model to the prototype.

철근콘크리트 축소모형의 유사동적실험과 진동대 실험을 위한 상사법칙 연구 (A Study on Similitude Law for Pseudodynamic Tests and Shaking Table Tests on Small-scale R/C Models)

  • Small-scale models have been frequently used for seismic performance tests because of limited testing facilities and economic reasons. However, there are not also enough studies on similitude law for analogizing prototype structures accurately with small-scale models, although conventional similitude law based on geometry similitude is not well consistent in their inelastic seismic behaviors. When fabricating prototype and small-scale model of reinforced concrete structures by using the same material, added mass is demanded from a volumetric change and scale factor could be limited due to aggregate size. Therefore, it is desirable to use different materials for small-scale model. In our recent study, a modified similitude law was derived depending on geometric scale factor, equivalent modulus ratio and ultimate strain ratio. And quasi-static and pseudo-dynamic tests on the specimens are carried out using constant and variable modulus ratios, and correlation between prototype and small-scale model is investigated based on their test results. In this study, tests on scaled model of different concrete compressive strength aye carried out. In shaking table tests, added mass can not be varied. Thus, constant added mass on expected maximum displacement was applied and the validity was verified in shaking table tests. And shaking table tests on non-artificial mass model is carried out to settle a limitation of acceleration and the validity was verified in shanking table tests.

상호운용성 테스트를 위한 테스트케이스 생성 기법 (Test Case Generation Technique for Interoperability Testing)

  • 네트워크 기술이 급격히 발전하면서 서로 다른 벤더들이 개발한 시스템들이 통합되거나 상호 운용함으로서 특정 기능을 수행한다. 이 경우 통합된 시스템의 정확성을 보증하는 상호운용성 테스트는 필수적이다. 상호운용성 테스트는 다른 벤더들이 개발한 다른 시스템이 데이타를 공유하는 경우 소프트웨어나 하드웨어의 성능을 테스트하는 것이다. 많은 연구에서 시스템의 행위를 모델링하기 위하여 EFSM(Extended Finite State Machines)을 사용하고 있고, EFSM은 테스트케이스 생성 알고리즘의 입력으로 사용된다. 그러나 대부분의 연구들은 최적의 테스트케이스 생성 알고리즘에 대한 것들로서 이들 알고리즘의 입력이 되는 EFSM 명세를 생성하는 과정에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 힘들다. 본 논문은 상호운용성 테스트를 위한 테스트케이스를 생성하는 연구로서 요구사항 분석서로부터 EFSM 명세를 생성하는 방법을 제안하고, 테스트케이스 생성의 자동화를 위하여 제안한 기법으로 생성된 EFSM을 입력으로 하여 표준화된 테스트 케이스 및 슈트를 자동 생성하기 위한 테스트케이스 생성기의 프로토타입을 구현한다. 또한 프로토타입 구현에 적용된 이론적 배경 및 알고리즘을 상세히 설명한다.

  • Recently the centrifuge test has been used increasingly to clarify a problem of seepage in dam. However, one of the most difficult challenges in the testing is to conform permeability properties of model ground to the prototype. In order to resolve the problem, a few solutions, such as an increase of pore water viscosity and a regulation of water permeability, are suggested. Although the use of prototype materials is principles if a model test is carried out, the materials of similarity gradation is used in the centrifuge model test because of the nature of the model test for dam. Therefore, we choose the latter method for model ground materials. In this study, the permeability properties of soil-bentonite mixtures are studied through the permeation test using triaxial compaction test apparatus.

Model test method for dynamic responses of bridge towers subjected to waves

  • In order to establish a dynamic model test method of bridge pylons subjected to ocean waves, the similarity method of hydroelastic model test for bridge pylons were analyzed systematically, and a model design and production method was proposed. Using this method, a dynamic test model of a bridge pylon was made, and then a free vibration test on the model structure and a dynamic response test of the model structure under wave actions were conducted in a wave flume. The results of the free vibration test show that the primary natural frequencies of the structure by the model test are close to the design frequencies of the prototype structure, indicating that the dynamic characteristics of the bridge pylon are well simulated by the model structure. The results of the dynamic response test show that wave induced base shear forces and motion responses on the model structure are consistent with the numerical results of the prototype structure. The model test results confirm that the proposed model test design method is feasible and applicable. It has application and reference significances for model testing studies of such marine bridge structures.

  • 원형(prototype) 철근콘크리트 구조물의 거동을 축소모형실험을 이용하여 연구하기 위해서는 모든 구성재료의 물리적 성질들이 특정상사(similitude)관계 또는 1:1로 복제된 모형재료를 사용하여야 한다. 원형과 모형의 물리적 특성에 관한 상사성에 대해 사전 연구가 되어져야만 축소모형실험결과 해석에 적용할 수 있다. 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 구조물을 축소모형화하는데 따른 구성재료의 물리적 성질과 기본 거동에 관한 문제점들을 파악하고, 개선된 방법을 찾기 위한 것이다. 모형콘크리트에서 발견되는 큰 인장강도를 최소화하기 위해 배합비를 변화시켜서 원형콘크리트에 가장 가까운 모형콘크리트의 제작기법과 모형철근의 표면형태에 따른 거동의 차이를 단순보를 이용하여 연구하였다.
