  • To trace the working point of pressure-fed rocket propulsion system, direct analogy model was suggested, by which propellant mass flow rate and combustion chamber pressure were calculated from propellant tank pressures, levels and flight acceleration. In this paper, the analysis of KSR-III flight test results was taken by example, and it can be described that working point transition tendency of pressure-fed rocket propulsion system can be calculated by this direct analogy model.

  • In order to predict the performance of the small-scale Polyethylene-GOX hybrid rocket motor, a typical internal ballistic model was proposed. The model adopted for the present study employed the lumped scale of chamber pressure so that the pressure-time history resulted from the present model was comparable to the test results.

  • The Single Species, Unreacted Flow Model which is effectively applicable on the computational analysis of rocket exhaust flow is introduced in this paper. The basic concept of this model had been originated from chemically frozen analysis of hot air but it was complemented by compensating molecular weight and specific heat which was obtained CEA code analysis of exhaust plume. Comparing single species, unreacted model with the finite chemistry model, unreacted model can reduce calculation time to 1/5 while it makes similar simulation results.

  • STS 321 stainless steel is generally used for a material of high-temperature and high-pressure system including liquid rocket engine. The constitutive equation for flow stress has been suggested using thermal stress component and athermal stress component based on Kocks dislocation barrier model to predict 321 stainless steel's deformation behavior at elevated temperature. The suggested model predicted well the material deformation behaviors of 321 stainless steel at the wide temperature range from room temperature to $500^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, internal ballistic analysis theories of dual-thrust solid rocket motor using two kinds of propellant are found, and the theories are applied to develop internal ballistic analysis model. Internal ballistic analysis which is dual-thrust solid rocket motor using two kinds of propellant is carried out an applying of the random figures of two kinds of propellant and an analyze of the test results. Through this analytical model was able to an applying internal ballistic analysis for dual-thrust solid rocket motor using two kinds of propellant.

  • Hybrid propulsion systems provide many advantages in terms of stable operation and safety. However, classical hybrid rocket motors have lower fuel regression rate and combustion efficiency compared to solid propellant rocket motor. The recent research efforts are focused on the improvement of volume limitation and regression rate in the hybrid rocket engine. The present study has numerically investigated the combustion processes in the hybrid rocket engine. The turbulent combustion is represented by the eddy breakup model and Hiroyasu and Nagle and Strickland-Constable model are used for soot formation and soot oxidation. Radiative heat transfer is modeled by finite volume method. To reduce the uncertainties for convective heat transfer near solid fuel surface having strong blowing effect, the Low Reynolds number $\kappa-\varepsilon$ turbulent model is employed. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussion has been made for the turbulent combustion processes in the vortex hybrid rocket engine.

  • This paper deals with mathematical modeling of a 75-ton open-cycle Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine (LPRE) and the steady state simulation based on a nominal operating point. Each component of open-cycle LPRE may be classified into seven major categories using thermodynamics and dynamics characteristics. To simplify the simulation model of LPRE in this paper, we used four govern equations with assuming no heat transfer process. We confirmed the mathematical model of LPRE by using the error ratio and comparing the experiment data and simulation data in steady state, and checked the stability with the linearized model. Finally, we demonstrated the simulation model as compared to the transient response of experimental data.

  • In this study, the cooling of rocket exhaust plume by sprayed water inside plume were investigated as varying of sprayed water mass, location, and method using computational fluid analysis. For Analyze rocket exhaust plume, a single species unreacted analysis model based on the chemically frozen analysis was used and the discrete particle model which was a kind of Euler-Lagrangian analysis model was used for simulate sprayed water inside plume. It was confirmed that the temperature of plume was reduced without cooling when water mass was two times of plume mass through analysis results.

  • The structural stability for preliminary model of supersonic rocket which has large L/D ratio is investigated. Large L/D ratio can cause a critical problem on the structural stability by the increase of bending-moment. By using the ANSYS and the CFX codes, we inspected the structural stability for Ma=2 and angle of attack for $20^{\circ}$. The optimum number of bolts and their joints required on the rocket surface are predicted.

  • It is essential to develop a transient engine system analysis model for turbopump fed type liquid rocket engine development, especially for deriving engine system test number and conditions. In this study, we proposed a mathematical model of turbopump fed type liquid rocket engine, and inspected transient mode changes around the nominal thrust level of a rocket engine according to variations of trust control valve's opening ratio. To verify the results, we solved the same problem with AnaSyn software from Russia, and concluded that the transient code showed the similar results within $2\%$ with AnaSyn.
