In this Paper, reduction of noise and vibration in ship cabins by using floating floor is studied. Two theoretical models are presented and predicted insertion losses of floating floor are compared to experimental results, where measurements have been done in mock-up built for simulating typical ship cabin structures. In ships, mineral wool is usually used as the impact absorbing materials. The first model (M-S-Plate Model) is that upper plate and mineral wool are assumed as a one-dimensional mass-spring system, which is in turn attached to the simply supported elastic floor. The second model (Wave-Plate Model) is that mineral wool is assumed as an elastic medium for wave propagation. The comparisons show that M-S-Plate model is in good agreement with experimental results when density of mineral wool is 140K, and fiber direction is horizontal. For higher density and vertical fiber direction, Wave-Plate model shows good agreements with measurements. It is found that including the elastic behavior of the floor is essential in improving accuracy of the prediction for low frequency ranges below $100{sim}200Hz$.
According to the tendency of energy efficiency and environment-friendly chracteristics, demend of High-efficiency lighting using LED(Light Emitting Diode)are being increased actively and applied in various fields. However, In order to adequate application of LED light sources, it is necessary to lighting environment and luminous characteristics of LED light sources. This Study aims to characterize the work-plane lighting environment by LED light sources comparing with fluorescent light sources which are widely used. For the sake of this study, a fluorescent light source and 5 LED light sources were introduced and luminance and correlated color temperature were measured to evaluate luminance contrast. The experimental model is Mock-up which is $4.9m{\times}7.2m$ with a height of 2.9m. The test room was set up partition and desks. Luminance and correlated color temperature were measured work-plane on the desk which was set up local lighting by the Radiant Imaging ProMetric 1400. The optical characteristics data of LED can give a lot of advantages to design LED lighting appliances. Hereafter, the object of research will be conducted to evaluate effects of LED light sources on working performance, survey of visual performance, preference and physiology of subjects.

In this study, we built a mock-up of an indoor garden for private use and vertical gardens were installed on the walls of this indoor garden model. The purpose of this study is to examine the types of plants for best fit for growth and nurture in vertical garden and to identify the effects of indoor air quality improvement by these plants. As the result of the experiment, 22 species out of 32 species previously used for indoor garden was selected to be suitable for vertical gardens of a personal indoor garden. 10 species were found to be inappropriate for a personal indoor garden in terms of ornamental value, growth status and maintenance. The effect of plants on reducing CO2 has been proven by many studies. Also, through photosynthesis, plants combine CO2 with water and produce sugars and O2 (oxygen). Everyone accepts this fact. In nature, the production of oxygen is so important that without plants we would soon use it up and die. From the NASA Fact Sheet we know that air contains 20.95% O2 and 0.04% CO2. If you had enough plants in a room to use up all of the all of CO2 and convert it to oxygen, the oxygen levels would increase from 20.95% to 21%. This increase is difficult to detect and would have no effect on humans.

If predicting of compressive strength of construction in construction field at early age is possibile, rational strength management & schedule plan is possible. With method for predicting strength of concrete, many researchers have been making study of maturity method. On the other hand, nowadays rationalization of construction capacity and reduction of a term of works due to improvement of construction capacity and application of a new method of construction is gathering strength with important issue. In accordance with this present condition, construction is being progressed in winter, but proper construction mothed and countermeasure for strength management is not established in case of winter construction. Therefore to investigate application in construction field at winter of strength prediction model that developed at former study, this study aim to measure application of developed strength prediction model through manufacture of mock-up concrete according to kind of strength level at 5$^{\circ}C$.
Actual fire test under a laboratory and fire simulation by using computer are considered into main methodology in order to estimate and predict fire size of railway train. Even if practical fire size could be obtained from the full-model railway car test such as a large scale cone-calorimeter test, it is not always possible and realistic due to that expensive cost and attendant dangers could in no way be negligible. In this point of view, fire simulation analysis method based on the computational fluid dynamics could be proposed as an alternative and it seems to be also efficient and reasonable. However, simulation results have to be verified and validated in accordance with the proper procedure including comparing analysis with the actual fire test. In this paper, fire load and growth aspect was investigated through the room corner test (ISO 9705) for the mock-up model of the actual railway car. Then, it was compared with the output data derived from the simulation by using Pyrolysis Model of the FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator, by NIST) for the exact same domain and condition corresponding with pre-performed room-corner test. This preliminary verified and validated fire modeling method could enhance the reliability of output data derived from the fire simulation under the similar domain and condition.
Some industrial steel structures are composed by components linked by several welding joints to constitute an assembly. The main interest of assembly simulation is to evaluate the global distortion of welded structure. The general method, thermo-elasto-plastic analysis, leads to excessive model size and computation time. In this study, a simplified method called "Local and Global approach" was developed to break down this limit and to provide a accurate solution for distortion. Local and global approach is composed of 3 steps; 1) Local simulation of each welding joint on a dedicated mesh (usually very fine due to high thermal gradients), taking into account for the non linearity of the material properties and the moving heat source. 2) Transfer to the global model of the effects of the welding joints by projection of the plastic strain tensors. 3) Elastic simulation to determine final distortions in global model. The welding deformation test for mock-up structure was performed to verify this approach. The predicted welding distortion by this approach had a good agreement with experiment results.

This work introduces a modal testing and analysis results of the mock-up for a layered stone pagoda. The pagoda has been horizontally excited by an impact hammer. As to the measured acceleration time responses, the first five lower mode shapes and natural frequency are extracted by the TDD technique. It is observed that the time delay of a shear wave occurs through friction surfaces. Such phenomena cannot be described by using the traditional analytical models such as a continuum cantilever beam model or a discrete shear building model. However, the time delay typically affects only the phases of the pagoda system. The frequencies of the pagoda system are not affected by such time delay. It is found in the first time that the layered stone pagoda system has a set of closely placed modes in near of natural frequency. It is believed that such modes are due to the friction characteristics in friction surfaces. Based on the stick-slip friction model, it seems that the one of the closely placed mode can be a self-excited one.
Although two dimensional axi-symmetric modeling is useful for calculating the residual stresses of a cylindrical weldment such as a core barrel, this conventional axi-symmetric modeling can not express the behavior of shrinkage well in the locally heated weld zone. New technique of two dimensional axi-symmetric modeling using a virtual fixture is suggested to simulate the behavior of dimensional changes in the weld zone during the heating period of the welding. The virtual fixture in the model has a role to restrain the expansion of the high temperature heated region, which simulates equivalent intrinsic restraint effect of the weldment. In the restraint condition of the virtual fixture above the critical yield strength, the calculated shrinkages by using the suggested axi-symmetric model agreed well with those measured in a welded mock-up. The calculated residual stresses by using the suggested axi-symmetric model also agreed well with those calculated by using conventional axi-symmetric model which has beenused for calculating residual stresses in the weldment.

Recently Development of construction system that subjective operators share and control information efficiently based on the three-dimensional space and design information throughout life cycle of construction project is progressing dynamically. In case of civil structures which are infrastructure, Demand for structure of complex system which has multi-functions such as super and smart bridges and express rails is increasing and system development which computerizes and integrates process of structure design is in need. For that, research about link way between three dimensional modeling data and structure analysis programs should be preceded. In this research, therefore, research about interface design between three dimensional virtual modeling data to automate efficient civil-structure-design and nonlinear finite element analysis program which is made up of reinforced concrete material model that express material's character clearly.
Bridge piers typically have circular or rectangular shapes without decorative design. Prefabrication for accelerated construction has been widely adopted in bridge structures. Cost for steel formwork is a main restriction of creative irregular shapes. 3D modelling techniques allow creative design of columns and 3D printing provides possibility to minimize the fabrication cost. In this paper, 3D design process of bridge piers was suggested by converting 2D picture into 3D decorative shape. Formwork design using 3D printed panels was also proposed and mock-up tests were conducted. Precast columns need accurate geometry control from fabrication to assembly. Laser scanning and geometry control devices were adopted. Through the digitalized process of design, fabrication and assembly, creative design of structures can be realized in reasonable cost range.
