The development model of PT Visionet Internasional (OVO) in Indonesia

  • OVO is a digital platform that provides simple payments and smart financial services, as well as one of the largest digital payment platforms in Indonesia. It has wide coverage and security when making payments, and supports multiple settlement currencies. The purpose of this study is to explore the history, business model, and future strategic direction of OVO, an Indonesian e-wallet. To date, OVO has built its own mobile payment ecosystem covering a wide range of consumer scenarios including e-commerce, travel, offline shopping and finance. And it supports mobile banking, online banking, debit cards or selected partner merchants. Its three largest transaction categories are in the transportation, retail and e-commerce sectors. With over 110 million consumers and 1.3 million merchant users, it is one of the dominant e-wallets in Indonesian market and has become the country's e-payment market leader. OVO eWallet's 'One Card' model offers convenience and choice for users, thus contributing to the rapid growth of OVO eWallet. And OVO eWallet competes fiercely with other competitors, but OVO eWallet continues to grow in terms of the number of users and market share. Finally, this study analyzes the strategic goals and plans of OVO eWallet, predicts its future direction. OVO eWallet has a huge success, but there are still competition and challenges to face.

A Mapping Table Caching Scheme for NAND Flash-based Mobile Storage Devices (NAND 플래시 기반 모바일 저장장치를 위한 사상 테이블 캐싱 기법)

  • Recently e-business such as online financial trade and online shopping using mobile computes are widely spread. Most of mobile computers use NAND flash memory-based storage devices for storing data. Flash memory storage devices use a software called flash translation layer to translate logical address from a file system to physical address of flash memory by using mapping tables. The legacy FTLs have a problem that they must maintain very large mapping tables in the RAM. In order to address this issues, in this paper, we proposed a new caching scheme of mapping tables. We showed through the trace-driven simulations that the proposed caching scheme reduces the space overhead dramatically but does not increase the time overhead. In the case of online transaction workload in e-business environment, in particular, the proposed scheme manifests better performance in reducing the space overhead.

Multi-modal Authentication Using Score Fusion of ECG and Fingerprints

  • Biometric technologies have become widely available in many different fields. However, biometric technologies using existing physical features such as fingerprints, facial features, irises, and veins must consider forgery and alterations targeting them through fraudulent physical characteristics such as fake fingerprints. Thus, a trend toward next-generation biometric technologies using behavioral biometrics of a living person, such as bio-signals and walking characteristics, has emerged. Accordingly, in this study, we developed a bio-signal authentication algorithm using electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, which are the most uniquely identifiable form of bio-signal available. When using ECG signals with our system, the personal identification and authentication accuracy are approximately 90% during a state of rest. When using fingerprints alone, the equal error rate (EER) is 0.243%; however, when fusing the scores of both the ECG signal and fingerprints, the EER decreases to 0.113% on average. In addition, as a function of detecting a presentation attack on a mobile phone, a method for rejecting a transaction when a fake fingerprint is applied was successfully implemented.

  • Existing web server lowers the whole capacity of system because of the problem on the processing load of server by closing connection increasing code handshake operation, and remarkable decrease of server capacity if it is the state of overload. Also, there occurs disadvantages of increasing connection tine about client's request and response time because handling of client's multi-requests is not smooth because of thread block and it requests a lot of time and resources for revitalization of thread. Therefore, this paper proposes the extended web server which provides the technique for delay handling and improves the overload of server for better system capacity, communication support, and the unification which is the advantage of web service. And it evaluates the existing system(implemented at Tomcat 5.5) and the proposed mobile web server architecture. The extended server architecture provides excellent exchange condition for system capacity and evaluates improved web server architecture which combines multi-thread with thread pool. The proposed web service architecture in this paper got the better result of improved capacity benefit than the evaluation result of original Tomcat 5.5.

  • Currently, most of the mobile game market releases games through Google play and App Store, which have a high share. Because it uses a third-party platform, only the payment API system provided must be used, and third-party platform pays the game company after excluding certain fees. Because game companies do not know whether or not to refund items and cannot get back items through third party transactions, users and professional websites are continuously appearing that exploit refunds. In this thesis, after analyzing problems of existing payment method and presenting a payment model using blockchain smart contract, we analyzed differences from existing model in terms of transparency, decentralization(fee), efficiency, and as a result, payment model using smart contract has low commission through P2P transaction without third parties and transparent transaction record, preventing item forgery and refund. Later, the proposed payment model would lead to the culling of companies acting on behalf of refunds for words that deviate from moral ethics such as "Refund OK even with items" and resolve the problem of unreasonable fees that arise through third-party platforms.

A Two-Way Ranging WPAN Location System with Clock Offset Estimation (클락 오프셋 추정 방식을 이용한 TWR WPAN 측위 시스템)

  • Compared to OWR (One-Way Ranging) method that requires precise network time synchronization, TWR (Two-Way Ranging) method has advantages in building an indoor WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) location system with lower cost. However, clock offsets of nodes in WPAN system should be eliminated or compensated to improve location accuracy of the TWR method. Because conventional clock offset elimination methods requires multiple TWR transactions to reduce clock offset, they produce network traffic burden instead. This paper presents a clock offset estimation method that can reduce clock offset error with a single TWR transaction. After relative clock offsets of sensor nodes are estimated, clock offsets of mobile tags are estimated using a single TWR communication. Simulation results show that location accuracy of the proposed method is almost similar to the conventional clock offset elimination method, while its network traffic is about a half of the conventional method.

  • Digital broadcasting technology has developed focusing on multi-channel/multi-media, high-definition quality, and mobility-support. Recently, there has been a clear trend toward bidirectional service with the convergence between broadcasting and communication. The broadcasting viewer is no longer simply a passive receptor but has also become an information generator. Currently, the digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) specifications are the major standard for portable digital broadcasting and have been establishing the overall guidelines for bidirectional service using the MPEG-4 system. While detailed specifications for DMB systems are not well-established for bidirectional service yet, they share the basic concepts underlying the European Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. This paper develops key scenarios for bidirectional service in DMB, describes the signal transaction of broadcasting and return channels, and demonstrates typical scenarios using binary format for scenes (BIFS) in the MPEG-4 system.

  • The volume of electronic banking service via smart phone is expected to increase dramatically under smart convergence environment. Under such circumstances, the effort to establish the mobile electronic banking culture which took a major step forward from the conventional electronic commerce method is essential. It is necessary to standardize the mobile payment infrastructure in order to resolve the initiative conflicts between financial institutions and newly launched non-financial institutions. Furthermore, a domestic and international strategy is required as the number of NFC technology based smart phone transaction business is increased. As various types of business enter the electronic commerce field, efforts to resolve the dissatisfaction of the customers are critical. Additionally, security is one of the significant issue due to the conversation process to open-type operating system. This study surveyed and analyzed the current domestic and foreign status, the problems in Korea, and suggested an effective counterplan and policy, which could be helpful in governments' preparation for electronic commerce policy.

Virtual Credit Card Number Payment System with Stored Hash Value for Efficient Authentication (효율적인 인증을 위한 해시 저장방식의 가상카드번호 결제 시스템)

  • Electronic transactions have been increasing with the development of the high-speed Internet and wireless communication. However, in recent years financial corporations and mobile carriers were attacked by hackers. And large numbers of privacy information have been leaked. In particular, in the case of credit card information can be misused in the online transaction, and the damage of this given to cardholder. To prevent these problems, it has been proposed to use a virtual card number instead of the actual card number. But it has security vulnerability and requires additional security infrastructure. In this paper, we analyzed the proposed virtual card number schemes. and we propose a new virtual credit card number scheme. In the newly proposed scheme, cardholder generates a key pair (public key/private key) and pre-register public key to the issuer. then, cardholder can pay no additional security infrastructure while still efficiently satisfy the security requirements.

Effective Index and Backup Techniques for HLR System in Mobile Networks (이동통신 HLR 시스템에서의 효과적인 색인 및 백업 기법)

  • A Home Location Register(HLR) database system manages each subscriber's location information, which continuously changes in a cellular network. For this purpose, the HLR database system provides table management, index management, and backup management facilities. In this thesis, we propose using a two-level index method for the mobile directory number(MDN) as a suitable method and a chained bucket hashing method for the electronic serial number(ESN). Both the MDN and the ESN are used as keys in the HLR database system. We also propose an efficient backup method that takes into account the characteristics of HLR database transactions. The retrieval speed and the memory usage of the two-level index method are better than those of the R-tree index method. The insertion and deletion overhead of the chained bucket hashing method is less than that of the modified linear hashing method. In the proposed backup method, we use two kinds of dirty flags in order to solve the performance degradation problem caused by frequent registration-location operations. For a million subscribers, proposed techniques support reduction of memory size(more than 62%), directory operations (2500,000 times), and backup operations(more than 80%) compared with current techniques.
