Study on Query Type and Data Structure for Mobile Meteorological Services

  • For the mobile meteorological services, sensed data should be gathered at a server from various clients like as Ubiquitous Sensor Network, mobile phone or public traffic vehicle by wireless network. The gathered data at server have huge volume and increase continuously. Therefore, a special query method and data structure should be considered. This paper studies on all possible query type on the data and processing steps for the mobile meteorological services. Some query spaces will be discussed. After that, this paper proposes effective data structure for the sensed data to support the query types.

NFC 기반 세렌디피티 시스템 설계 (Design of Serendipity Service Based on Near Field Communication Technology)

  • 본 연구는 NFC(Near Field Communication) 기술 기반의 세렌디피티 시스템의 설계와 구현을 목적으로 한다. NFC 기능이 탑재된 스마트폰은 계속 출시되고 있다. NFC 스마트폰의 보급으로 많은 장소에 NFC 태그가 설치되고 사용자들은 이를 터치하여 정보와 서비스를 제공받을 것으로 예상이 된다. 이러한 NFC가 활용되는 환경에서 사용자들이 어떤 NFC 태그를 터치할 때, 의외의 가치가 있는 발견을 하게 하는 세렌디피티(Serendipity) 서비스가 매우 핵심적인 생활 서비스로 등장할 가능성이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 태그 터치 데이터베이스, 세렌디피티 사례 베이스 데이터베이스, 세렌디피티 Rule 패턴 데이터베이스, 사용자 프로파일 데이터베이스를 활용하여, 사용자가 NFC 태그를 터치하면 사용자가 흥미, 유용성, 새로움을 느낄만한 거래 정보, 컨텐트, 서비스를 부가적으로 제공하는 신개념 서비스인 세렌디피티 서비스를 설계하고 이를 위한 발생 가능한 시나리오와 시스템을 설계한다.

이동통신서비스요금의 적정성에 관한 연구 (The study on fairness issues in mobile telecommunication service charges)

  • 우리나라 가계의 통신비는 꾸준히 증가하여 왔다. 이에 따라 이동통신요금의 적정성에 대한 문제가 제기되고 있으나 실효성 있는 해결책은 제시되지 않고 있다. 우리나라의 이동전화보유율은 99%로 세계에서 가장 높고 요금은 상대적으로 비싸다. 이는 근본적으로 정부가 이동통신 3사체제를 유지해오면서 사실상 최저가격제를 용인하고 MVNO의 도입을 늦추었기 때문으로 풀이된다. 정부는 서비스생산비용이 타당하게 반영되는 요금구조로 유도할 수 있으며 시장지분확보만을 위한 마케팅비용을 일정한 범위로 제한할 수 있다. 또 과도하게 복잡한 요금제에 따른 거래비용을 억제함으로써 소비자의 소비선택권을 보장하고 요금부담을 줄일 수 있다. 이동통신요금의 적정화를 위해서는 MVNO의 활성화를 통한 이동통신시장구조의 개선, 마케팅 비용의 적정수준인정을 통한 요금의 인하가 필요하다. 바람직한 시장구조와 정책운용이 뒷받침된다면 이동통신요금은 30%정도의 하향조정은 가능할 것으로 보인다. 이동통신 요금은 데이터 사용량에 따른 종량제를 기본으로 하는 것이 바람직할 것이다.

어린이용 휴대폰 기능 및 설계 요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Function and Design Factors of Mobile Phones for Children)

  • These days mobile phone which were used mainly by grown-up persons are now widely used among children as well due to new social demands. Despite this trend, existing mobile phones are still being designed and produced according to the taste of people in their 20s and 30s, even the elderly, not satisfying physical, emotional and cognitive characteristics raised by children. This study aimed to extract the design factors of mobile phones for children by reflecting functional factors requested by children and parents in QFD's customer demands. First, functional and design factors requested in mobile phones for children were extracted from existing products and documentary records and some functional factors were selected through a process of integration and omission. The survey research was conducted on children and parents, based on the selected functional factors. Based on the survey research, functional factors were analyzed using AHP, and key functional factors considered by children and parents in mobile phones for children were investigated. Finally, in order to reflect the results in QFD, the correlation between functional factors and design factors was constructed as HOQ through experts' evaluation. The results showed that both children and parents recognized the basic functions such as telephoning, text messaging and phone directory as high priority functional factors, even though the relative importance was different between children and parents. Therefore, it is likely to satisfy the desires of both children and parents by designing mobile phones for children in consideration of design factors such as menu depth, button independence and button arrangement. It is expected that this study will promote experiments on design factors and propose basic data for and guidelines to mobile phone design for children.

모바일 게임 서비스에서 유용성과 수용의도 결정요인에 관한 연구 (The Determinants of Usefulness and Intention In Mobile Game Service)

  • This study tried to find the determine of intention to mobile game service acceptance. Our research proposes the theoretical model consisting of factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of using the mobile phone, perceived price. The data was analyzed using LISREL based on th structural equation modeling, a second-generation multivariate technique. The result shows that the perceived usefulness have significant effects on the mobile game service acceptance.

  • The Korean mobile telecommunication service market is faced with a tremendous competitive period, in which the market is entering into the maturity stage with launching of the 3rd generation service and with introduction of mobile number portability. In general, it is more important to sustain the old customers than to attracting new customers, as the life cycle of an industry is entering the maturity stage in which the growth rate of new customers is decreasing gradually or becoming stagnant. Thus, mobile telecommunication business has to seek a way to maintain the existing customers instead of promoting new customers. So this study investigates whether the service quality of mobile telecommunication could have effects on the switching barrier of the industry. In order to test the hypothesis on the effects of service quality of mobile telecommunication in Korea on switching barrier, this study collected the questionnaire response data of students including middle and high school students and undergraduates, who are regarded as the major customers in that mobile telecommunication industry.

The Improvement of the Data Overlapping Phenomenon with Memory Accessing Mode

  • Mobile phones use the embedded memory in LDI (LCD Driver IC). In memory accessing mode, data overlapping phenomenon can occur. These days, various contents such as DMB, Camera, Game are merged to phone. Accordingly, with more data transmission, there would be more data overlapping phenomenon in memory accessing mode. Human eyes perceive this data overlapping phenomenon as simply horizontal line noise. The cause of the data overlapping phenomenon was analysed in this paper. The data overlapping phenomenon can be changed by the speed of data transmission between the host and LDI. The optimum memory accessing position can be defined. This paper proposes a new algorithm for avoiding data overlapping.

  • 과학기술의 눈부신 발전은 디지털 기기의 콘텐츠 및 디자인의 다양성과 변화로 이어졌으며 여기에서 파생되는 UI, UX, GUI 디자인은 세분화된 디지털 디자인의 창조 및 발전으로 거듭났다. 이런 다양한 디지털 매체의 디자인은 도스 이후의 윈도우의 시작과 함께 생겨났으며 이는 마우스라는 혁신적인 도구의 개발로 인해 가능했다. 이러한 환경 안의 디지털 매체 디자인의 중심에는 모든 콘텐츠 및 버튼, 입구를 상징하는 아이콘이 있으며 모바일, 앱, 윈도우환경에서 필수요소로 자리 잡고 있다, 이러한 아이콘은 윈도우 초기 시절부터 다양한 발전을 거듭하였으며 이는 디지털 과학기술의 발전과 함께 하였다. 디자인 트렌드분석은 스큐어모피즘에서 부터 플랫된 형태 그리고 미니멀리즘으로 되돌아오기까지의 아이콘의 디자인의 변천을 분석한다. 분석 범위는 트렌드와 기기의 성능에 민감한 모바일을 대상으로 분석하며 Kress's grammar of visual design의 분석틀을 기본으로 한다. 특히 iPhone의 IOS7디자인이 애플의 대표 디자인 트렌드인 스큐어모피즘을 접고 미니멀리즘, 플렛 디자인을 채택해 큰 변화를 겪는 현 시점에서 모바일 앱시장의 GUI 디자인 기초 동향 파악 자료로 활용되는데 도움이 되고자 한다.

Ubiquitous-Based Mobile Control and Monitoring of CNC Machines for Development of u-Machine

  • This study was an attempt to control and monitor Computerized Numerical Controller (CNC) machines anywhere and anytime for the development of a ubiquitous machine (u-machine). With a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) phone, the machine status and machining data of CNC machines can be monitored in wired and wireless environments, including the environments of IMT2000 and Wireless LAN. Moreover, CNC machines can be controlled anywhere and anytime. The concept of the anywhere-anytime controlling and monitoring of a manufacturing system was implemented in this study for the purpose of u-manufacturing and u-machines. In this concept, the communication between the CNC controller and the PDA phone was successfully performed anywhere and anytime for the real-time monitoring and control of CNC machines. In addition, the interface between the CNC controller and the developed application module was implemented by Object linking and embedding for Process Control (OPC) and shared CNC memory. For communication, the design of a server contents module within the target CNC was based on a TCP/IP. Furthermore, the client contents module within the PDA phone was designed with the aid of embedded c++ programming for mobile communication. For the interface, the monitoring data, such as the machine status, the machine running state, the name of the Numerical Control (NC) program, the alarm and the position of the stage axes, were acquired in real time from real machines with the aid of the OPC method and by sharing the CNC memory. The control data, such as the start, hold, emergency stop, reserved start and reserved stop, were also applied to the CNC domain of the real machine. CNC machines can therefore be controlled and monitored in real time, anywhere and anytime. Moreover, prompt notification from CNC machines to mobile phones, including cellular phones and PDA phones, can be automatically realized in emergencies.

A Design and Implementation of the Remote Control Black Box System of Vehicle Using the Smart Phone

  • This paper suggests the vehicle remote control on the basis of Smart Phone. In general, most smart phone is mounted with G-sensor to control the motion. G-sensor is able to control several directions and movements of velocity along with X, Y, and Z axis. To access remote location and data system, we can also utilize Wi-Fi communication as well as bluetooth communication. In this study, we propose the scheme that is the car management application by remote control via real-time monitoring on mobile device for user convenience.
