Policy introducing open access to the wireless network has been under discussion in the Korean mobile telecommunications industry. The policy, which directs mobile operators to allow mobile portals other than their own ones to access their network and subscribers, is expected to vitalize mobile Internet market through competition among portals. This study analyzes the impact of the policy in terms of welfare of mobile Internet users and profit of mobile contents providers. We also cover the influence of mobile Internet fee on anticipated results of the policy

We demonstrate a next-generation high-capacity mobile fronthaul based on radio over fiber (RoF) technology, which links between a digital unit and a radio unit supporting two frequency assignments and $2{\times}2$ multiple input, multiple output antennas. To confirm the technical feasibility of a mobile fronthaul, we experimentally investigate its down- and uplink end-to-end performances including the optical and radio frequency (RF) signal path. Frequency-dependent performance deviations, error vector magnitude variations, overall system performance variations caused by optical to electrical conversion, and intermediate frequency to RF conversions are examined. Experimental verifications on multiple LTE uplink signals are performed for the first time. We also demonstrate several commercial mobile Internet services, YouTube video streaming, and file transfers using off-the-shelf mobile devices, through a mobile fronthaul based on RoF.

In this research, we have developed a model that can explain the potential customer's needs for the potable Internet service, a concept with 'QoS guaranteed lower-price high speed mobile Internet service. Based on the developed model, we have also derived some empirical implications for the business firms interest in the potable Internet market. The developed model is incorporating a survey result, answering of potential customer's attitude for the portable Internet service, from the subscribers to the Internet service, wireless LAN service, and mobile Internet service. As a result, we have found that a very innovative group, such as wireless LAN users and 20's age group using mobile Internet service, could be the most attractive market segment. Moreover, the aspects of the service coverage and the price competitiveness at the service launching stage could be the most critical success factors for the portable Internet service.

본 연구는 인터넷의 폭넓은 보급과 더불어 최근 중요성과 이용률이 크게 신장되고 있는 모바일인터넷을 기반으로 하는 모바일커머스의 특징과 현황을 분석해보고 막대한 산업파급력과 경제적효과를 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 발생하는 장애요인과 이를 극복활 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 우선 모바일인터넷과 모바일커머스의 개념을 명확히 이해하는 것을 우선으로 하였으며 아울러 모바일커머스의 특징을 기술적, 비즈니스적, 고객적 차원에서 분석하였다. 가급적 최근의 실질적 데이터나 현황을 파악하고자 현행 이동통신사의 내부 자료를 수용하여 활용하였다. 본 연구를 통해서 모바일커머스가 안정된 상거래 시스템으로 정착되기 위해서는 아직은 풀어야할 과제가 다양한 부분에 산재해 있음을 알 수 있다. 기술적인면을 물론이고, 정책적인면이나 고객의 이해와 의지도 매우 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 인터넷 이용환경은 빠른 속도로 무선 환경으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 더불어 인터넷을 통한 전자상거래 역시 큰 폭으로 성장하고 있음은 부인할 수 없는 사실이며 무선과 전자상거래의 접목으로 이루어지는 모바일커머스 역시 정보화사회에서 요구되어지는 당연한 귀결로 보인다.

국내 모바일 인터넷 서비스 시장은 매우 빠르게 성장하고 있다. 본 논문은 국내 모바일 인터넷 서비스의 현황을 고찰하고, 신방, 방송, 인터넷 등 주요 미디어 기업이 제공하는 모바일 콘텐츠 서비스 유형을 분석하였다. 연구결과 미디어 기업들은 일반적으로 모바일을 통해 뉴스와 정보 유형들을 무료로 제공하며, 새로운 미디어 영역에서 시장 경쟁력을 유지할 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 개발하려고 노력하고 있다. 미디어 기업의 모바일 콘텐츠 영역은 아직 분명한 콘텐츠 비즈니스 모델의 부족으로 초기 단계에 있다. 소비자의 욕구를 만족시키며 시장에서의 경쟁력을 유지하기 위해서는 미디어 기업들이 향후 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 지속적으로 개발해야 하고, 모바일 서비스 시장의 장애물을 줄여나가기 위해서 시장의 다른 참여자들과 서로 협력해야 한다.

이동 통신 기기의 발달과 확산에 따라 이동 통신을 이용한 인터넷의 사용의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 따라서 인터넷을 이동 통신기기에 적용하는 새로운 서비스가 요구되고 있다. 이에 많은 이동 통신 장치들을 위한 새로운 방법의 인터넷 접근 기술을 연구하고 있으며 WML과 WAP을 이용한 이동 통신 장치와 인터넷과의 연결이 모색되고 있다. 그러나 이동 통신 장치의 작은 디스플레이는 인터넷 사용에 제약점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 음성 지원을 지원하는 WML 브라우져를 설계하여 제약점을 극복하고자 한다.

As the mobile Internet spreads around the globe, a cross-national difference in the use of mobile services has become an important issue. The goal of this study is to propose and verity cross-national differences in the effect of each value-type on user satisfaction with the mobile Internet. We propose an analytic framework of four different types of value and apply this model to the value structures of mobile Internet users in two different countries. Large-scale online surveys were conducted in Korea and Hong Kong simultaneously with the same questionnaire. Results show that the relationships between the value components and user satisfaction varied between the two countries.

Information centric mobile network can significantly improve the data retrieving efficiency by caching contents at mobile edge. However, the cache pollution attack can affect the data obtaining process severely by requiring unpopular contents deliberately. To tackle the problem, we design an algorithm of mitigating cache pollution attacks in information centric mobile network. Particularly, the content popularity distribution statistic is proposed to detect abnormal behavior. Then a probabilistic caching strategy based on abnormal behavior is applied to dynamically maintain the steady-state distribution for content visiting probability and achieve the purpose of defense. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher request hit ratio and smaller latency for false locality content pollution attack than the CacheShield approach and the baseline approach where no mitigation approach is applied.

With the recent growth in smartphone services, the "mobile" environment has become a key factor to consider in the design of the future Internet. In this paper, we propose Mobile-Oriented Future Internet (MOFI), which is a new architecture for the future Internet for mobile-oriented environments. The MOFI architecture is designed with three functional features: global identifier and local locator in the identifier-locator separation, query-first data delivery for route optimization, and distributed control of identifier-locator mapping. The proposed architecture and functional operations are implemented and tested using the Linux platform. From the experiment results, we see that the MOFI architecture performs better than the existing identifier-locator separation schemes, such as Proxy Mobile IP and Host Identity Protocol, in terms of data throughout, mapping control overhead, and handover delay.

무선 이동 통신은 발전을 거듭하면서 그 활용 범위가 음성 위주에서 인터넷을 지원하는 데이터 중심의 서비스로 확대되고 있다 이에 따라 무선 단말기로 보다 효율적으로 인터넷에 접근하기 위한 데이터 전송방법 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 무선 이동 통신은 휴대가 간편하고 이동이 쉬워 사용자가 급증하고 있다 이와 함께 유선통신을 기반으로 하는 인터넷상의 정보들도 무선 인터넷 통신용으로 빠르게 바뀌어가고 있다 네트워크 확장에 따른 무선 데이터 용량의 급속한 증가와 무선 인터넷으로 언제 어느 곳에서나 인터넷을 이용할 수 있는 환경이 무선 컨텐츠의 증가를 요구하고 있는 것이다 이러한 요구를 수용하기 위해서는 다양한 단말 특성에 따라 컨텐츠를 재 작성해야 한다. 하지만 무선 컨텐츠를 새로 개발하는데 개발비용이 많이 투입된 다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 유선 인터넷상에 있는 Web문서 형태의 컨텐츠를 XML Parser를 통하여 변환, 가공하여 새로운 모바일 컨텐츠를 설계하는 방법을 소개한다. 이 시스템을 이용해 서비스를 제공 할 수 있는 모바일 컨텐츠 개발의 생산성을 향상시키고 개발기간과 비용을 단축해 신속한 무선 인터넷을 제공 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
