In the era of wireless internet, we are apt to use a mobile phone for learning mathematics, besides the pc computer and the notebook computer. This study was to investigate the effect of M-learning when students were given a wireless mobile phone in terms of their perspectives towards the use of a mobile phone, achievement and attitudes towards mathematics. They were the 3th grader in a high school, who were expected to take Aptitude Test for the entrance of the university level. The most students who took an ubiquitous environment of M-learning showed it as a benefit for learning mathematics and did not spend time at other activities such as listening to music, sending text-message, playing games, etc, but at the M-learning activities. The students who engaged in the M-learning activities were improved a significantly higher score at Aptitude Test than the students who took the make-up courses in the school and also did a significantly higher disposition towards mathematics which was caused by curiosity among 7 components of the mathematical disposition.

This paper attempts to analyze how the psychological factors would have an effect on the user's intention to make use of the mobile care via smart-phone, identifying the relationships among individual motivation propensity that consists of prevention propensity and promotion propensity, perceived usefulness and ease of use, perceived cost, behavioral use attitude and use intention based on technology acceptance model, and verifying them empirically through the structural equation modeling. The findings are as the followings. First, prevention motivation propensity affects positively on usefulness of smart-phone for mobile care service, but there are no significant indications that it affects on the ease of use and perceived cost. Second, promotion propensity affects positively on perceived ease of use and perceived cost of smart-phone for mobile care service, but there is no significant indication that it affects on perceived usefulness. Third, perceived usefulness and ease of use, and perceived cost affects positively on the use attitude. In sum, this paper confirms that the prevention propensity and promotion propensity might be used as antecedent variables for developing new smart-phone services of mobile care.

This paper describes an implementation method and the results of numerical mobile phone models representing real phone models that have been released on the Korean market since 2002. The aim is to estimate the electromagnetic absorption in the human brain for case-control studies to investigate health risks related to mobile phone use. Specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance test reports about commercial phone models were collected and classified in terms of elements such as the external body shape, the antenna, and the frequency band. The design criteria of a numerical phone model representing each type of phone group are as follows. The outer dimensions of the phone body are equal to the average dimensions of all commercial models with the same shape. The distance and direction of the maximum SAR from the earpiece and the area above -3 dB of the maximum SAR are fitted to achieve the average obtained by measuring the SAR distributions of the corresponding commercial models in a flat phantom. Spatial peak 1-g SAR values in the cheek and tilt positions against the specific anthropomorphic mannequin phantom agree with average data on all of the same type of commercial models. Second criterion was applied to only a few types of models because not many commercial models were available. The results show that, with the exception of one model, the implemented numerical phone models meet criteria within 30%.

The rapid advancements of information technology and popularization of smart phones make people obtain the desired information through a variety of channels. In particular, consumers become to use a smart phone in their shopping in order to spend their money rationally. However, they have experienced inconvenience at being shopping by a smart phone because shopping information - reward(stamp), coupon, discount information, and so on - is distributed over multiple applications. To solve this problem, we propose the mobile stamper system that consumers can make good use of the reward(stamp) which is provided by various stores. The proposed system can improve the convenience of consumers by managing and integrating all stamps of multiple stores into our application.

The purpose of this study was to reveal how the agility of fingers directly involved in the use of mobile phones, a necessity for modern people, is related to the amount of text usage. To find out, 95 people who agreed to the purpose of this research without any limitation on visual and upper-geometry were selected. The research period was from June 27, 2018 to July 31, 2018. The evaluation tool used in this study was Grooved Pegboard, a standardized evaluation tool that measures hand dexterity, and the general characteristics of examinees such as age, text message amount, and a hand that using for text messages were investigated through interviews. Since text input methods vary depending on mobile phone types, unfamiliar methods of typing mobile phone characters can affect the speed of texting. As a result, there were significant differences in hand dexterity between age and gender. The rate of texting and hand dexterity were statistically significantly faster than those in their 20s and 30s (p<0.05), and in gender, women showed significantly faster texting and hand dexterity than men (p<0.05). However, it was not statistically significant to text usage and to the dexterity of the hand.

This paper describes practical research on the improvement of teaching and learning process by integrating Web Bulletin Board (WBB) and mobile phone. This paper addresses three topics; A) the interactive lecture with topics-based discussions using the Web Bulletin Board (WBB) as a tool for assisting discussion, B) the introduction of peer evaluation among students to develop their problem-solving and cognitive skills, C) the use of mobile phones for promoting interactive lectures, keeping class attendance, conducting assignments, and providing notices for the next class. Results indicated the following research-findings: (1) WBB plays a role in facilitating positive participation in classes. (2) In contrast to the scenario of the traditional mode of instruction (without the usage of WBB), students were able to deepen their understanding of the theme by accessing the WBB before and after classes. (3) Peer evaluation highly promoted students' motivation to learn, and was effective in cultivating meta-cognition through modeling. (4) Mobile phone was identified as a highly effective tool for keeping class attendance, realizing interactive classes by generating discussions, and managing assignments and homework.

Among the various services for mobile banking, user authentication method using bank security card is still very useful. We can use mobile banking easily and safely in case of saving encoded security codes in smart phone and entering codes automatically whenever user authentication is required without bank security card. In this paper automatic recognition algorithm of security codes of bank security card is proposed in oder to enroll the encoded security codes into smart phone using smart phone camera. Advanced adaptive binarization is used for extracting digit segments from various background image pattern and adaptive 2-dimensional layout analysis method is developed for segmentation and recognition of damaged or touched digits. Experimental results of proposed algorithm using Android and iPhone, show excellent security code recognition results.

This study has attempted to examine the socio-cultural implications of the using form and environment of smart phone and applications from the viewpoint of media-ecology studies. In so doing, this paper analysed the types of applications in SKT's application market T-store and in-depth interview on smart phone users. According to the study results, smart phone users organize mobile culture with individual curiosity and a desire for novelty depending on their personal tendencies and interest. Also, they use smart phone and applications as a sort of new complex mobile media and prescribe the role of smart phone and applications as their second body replacing themselves in a space using mobile. It means that new paradigm for a space using mobile could be formed by having created new space for communication through the mobile media.

Despite the near ubiquity of mobile phone and internet, the 'meta research' that deals with face-to-face(FTF), mobile phone and internet together as interpersonal media is very rare in Korea. This study begin with the purpose of fair repositioning of mobile phone and internet in Korean's interpersonal communication horizon. To accomplish this purpose, We examined the effect of face-to-face communication situation on uses of mobile phone and internet as interpersonal communication media. The related raw data were collected from on-line survey process, and statistically analyzed. The result showed that persons who are more troublesome in FTF communication because of their timidness or personality problem are more restricted in human communication network via mobile phone and internet than the others who are not. And more 'addicted' in internet use and more active in trying another personality(Persona) in cyber space. And more shrunk in meeting and conversation with family members and friends after internet adoption.
