  • The environment information such as dust, temperature, humidity, illumination and gas are very important in daily life. We implemented multi-sensor system which made for measuring an environment by using Arduino, ZigBee, and Appinventor. We also designed a packet for transmitting environment data. The data are sent to the server via ZigBee and then it communicates to a smart phone via WI-Fi. In this study, we added divers sensors, designed a protocol which made for transfer several kinds of data and improve mobility for real time monitoring by using smart phones. The system was worked well and the data was transmitted correctly to the smart phone.

  • With increasing number construction of high-rise building which has about 40 to 60 floors there have been many kinds of problem which related with usage from vibration. To predict response acceleration, it is important to assess correct natural frequency. However, due to the noise of MEMS sensor, it is difficult to measure dynamic characteristic such as natural frequency when measuring ambient vibration using MEMS sensor within cell phone. Therefore, a comparative analysis on vibration measuring applications was performed after measuring ambient vibration of 2 skyscrappers which have height between 133.5~244.3m that are located in Seoul and Observation tower using I-jishin APP with noise reduction function of MEMS sensor in order to verify the effectiveness of low noise type vibration measurement APP.

  • WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) based on low-power is one of the core technologies in the ubiquitous society. In this paper, we present a border surveillance and control system in WSN environment. The system consists of static sensor node, mobile sensor node, static gateway, mobile gateway, server and mobile application. Mobile applications are divided into user mode and manager mode. So users monitor border surveillance through mobile phone and get information of border network environment without time and space constraints. In manager mode, for the flexible operation of nodes, manager can update to the software remotely and adjust the position of the mobile node. And also we implement a suitable multi-hop routing protocol for scalable low-power sensor nodes and confirm that the system operates well in WSN environment.

  • Mobile devices are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the latest generation of smartphones now incorporates many diverse and powerful sensors. These sensors include acceleration sensor, magnetic field sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope sensor, pressure sensor, rotation vector sensor, gravity sensor and orientation sensor. The availability of these sensors in mass-marketed communication devices creates exciting new opportunities for data mining and data mining applications. In this paper, we describe and evaluate a system that uses phone-based accelerometers to perform activity recognition, a task which involves identifying the physical activity that a user is performing. To implement our system, we collected labeled accelerometer data from 10 users as they performed daily activities such as "phone detached", "idle", "walking", "running", and "jumping", and then aggregated this time series data into examples that summarize the user activity 5-minute intervals. We then used the resulting training data to induce a predictive model for activity recognition. This work is significant because the activity recognition model permits us to gain useful knowledge about the habits of millions of users-just by having them carry cell phones in their pockets.

  • Demand of Auto Focus for Camera module is increased very fast in these days and will be adapted to most of mobile phones in next few years instead of traditional method, fixed focus. To make auto focus function, 2 kinds of solutions, VCM(Voice Coil Motor) and Piezo linear motor are normally used. In this paper, VCM which commercially strong candidate for Auto focus mechanism was investigated to verify principles are match up to the actual operation. Auto focus algorithm is different between 1 chip and 2 chip solution. Normally 2 chip is more complicate than the other. To have best performance on this function, hysteresis and depth of field(DOF) table should be optimized.

  • Recently, with the advent of smart phones, it brought many changes in lives of modern people. Especially, application utilizing the sensor information of smart phone, which provides the service adapted by user situations, has been emerged. Sensor data of smart phone can be used for recognizing the user situation, Because it is closely related to the behavior and habits of the user. currently, GPS sensor one of mobile sensor has been utilized a lot to recognize basic user activity. But, depending on the user situation, activity recognition system cannot receive GPS signal, and also not collect received data. So utilization is reduced. In this paper, for solving this problem, we suggest a method of user activity recognition that focused on the accelerometer sensor data using smart phone. Accelerometer sensor is stable to collect the data and it's sensitive to user behavior. Finally this paper suggests a noble approach to use state transition diagrams which represent the natural flow of user activity changes for enhancing the accuracy of user activity recognition.

  • Recently, CMOS image sensor is rapidly used as an image capture device such as mobile phone or notebook PC. Because of poor quality of image by CMOS image sensor, ISP is essential step to improve image quality. In this paper, we implemented and simulated ISP algorithm for real time moving picture of CMOS image sensor. Especial Iy, we concentrated on color interpolation, which extracts three color component from uncompleted color information. Several algorithms for color interpolation are implemented and analyzed to acquire a good quality of picture. Finally, we proposed an improved algorithm and confirmed the effectiveness by experimental simulation results.

  • Lens designers generally refer to flat image fields and attempt to minimize the field curvature. Present-day CMOS image sensors for mobile phone cameras, however, are not flat, but curved. Sometimes it is necessary to generate an intentional field curvature according to the degree and direction of the CMOS image-sensor’s curvature. This paper presents the degree of curvature of a CMOS image sensor measured using an interferometer, and proposes an effective compensation method that minimizes the net field curvature through optimizing the air gap between lens elements, which is demonstrated using simulations and experiments.

  • As it is developing and growing up the mobile telecommunication, commercial mobile, and the application on it, the smart phone is attracting public attention techniques, hereafter. In this paper, we can make the context-awareness platform to supply users with the interface for their appropriate contexts using the smart phone. Therefore, we use the sensors in the smart phone, and the values from them are analyzed. As a result, we can estimate the user's contexts, such as the sitting and standing, movement, the lights, positions, locations, etc. In addition, we happen the suitable events from them for users. Therefore, we can provide the perspective interfaces for them. In addition, to prove the more efficiency of the proposed platform, we implemented the shooting game, and could know that the performance is the more advanced than the others. The proposed algorithm can be used for the mobile environments, which high efficiency is required such as the game, or the implementation of mobile applications which are more efficient to the user interfaces, etc.

  • Recently, smart phones are spread out as a universal mobile terminal equipment. Its provide USB interface to connect with various devices. Smart phones may be replaced with high priced monitoring equipments because of portability and mobility as its merit. In addition to that, the various sensor devices detecting surrounding environment of the radioactivity, sodium or electromagnetic waves have been announced. But the plug and play methods of sensor devices have some problem to connect smart phone with USB accessory device. We propose an integrated methodology that can connect smart phone with USB sensor devices and also, we realized USB accessory plug and play with one App that can collect measurement data through various sensor devices.
