Mobile games set to the past keypad input system have changed for adaptation in the input environment and the progressive development. Consequently it is necessary to research for 'Touch User Interface(TUI)' of mobile games fixed into input environment by "Touch screen". This study have concreted the application method of touch game through the comparison analysis with the past game and implemented touch mobile game based on usability for ten touch mobile game titles released from the inside and outside of the country in oder to apply the touch interface fixed in the game to the hand-hold device with the function of touch interface. The result of this study have two implications. First it enhances the playability and diversity of game genre restricted by reason of the limitation of the past keypad input device. • This study presents an investigation into game patterns prominent in mobile games. The term "pattern" used in this study is inherited by the concept used in "A study for user experience of the game : based on the pattern type and the pattern type attribute of the game space" by Gwak E Sac(2016). There is, however, a difference between them. While the previous study limited the gamers' experience patterns to "game spaces" in the use of "pattern," the present study expanded the scope of gamers' experience patterns to the "mobile game market." Although the mobile game market is growing rapidly, there is a tendency of uniformity in mobile games due to the reduction of development time and the destruction of genres in the development of mobile games. Recognizing this situation, the investigator summarized experience patterns in the current mobile game market into: repeat familiar game play, valuable game action, value and consumption of time and preference and selection of game.

  • Recently, with the advance of the wireless Internet access via mobile devices, a myriad of game development companies have forayed into the mobile game market, leading to intense competition. To survive in this fierce competition, mobile game developers often try to get a grasp of the rapidly changing needs of their customers by operating their own official communities where game users freely leave their requests, suggestions, and ideas relevant to focal games. Based on the heuristic-systematic model (HSM) and the data quality (DQ) framework, this study derives key content, non-content, and hybrid cues that can be utilized when game developers accept suggested postings in these online communities. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis show that relevancy, timeliness, amount of writing, and the number of comments are positively associated with mobile game developers' knowledge adoption. In addition, title attractiveness mitigates the relationship between amount of writing/the number of comments and knowledge adoption.

  • Along with the development of mobile technology, mobile game has undergone a change from downloadable game to network game, where a large number of users connect to server and play real-time game with a mobile phone. In order to develop these mobile network games economically, a proper, suitable game engine is needed. This study proposes the result of design and implementation of RWMMO-GE(Realtime Wireless Massively Multiplayer Online RPG Game Engine) that is used to develop a mobile network game. The structure of RWMMO-GE, which is the research result of this study, consists of major components such as Network/Client Module, Object Module, Map Tool, Script Editor, and Character Editor. The characteristics of the multiplayer mobile game developed by this engine is that a large number of players can play real-time game in a single map, which implies a possibility of a new business model in this area. This research is a result of the RWMMO-GE supported by 2006 IT Excellent Technology Support Project(No:A1300-0601-0125) of IITA(Institute Information Technology Advancement).
