Revisiting Customer Complaint Intention: A Case Study of Mobile Service Users in Vietnam

  • In the mobile industry, customer complaints play a significant role in retaining customer loyalty to the services provided. Thanks to user complaints, mobile service providers can effectively identify problems and then propose solutions to adapt or improve their services. Hence, it's critical to understand the relationship between consumer complaints and satisfaction with mobile services. While several studies have shown that customer satisfaction is an intermediary variable that explains customer complaint intention, there have been few studies on the relationship between pre-determinants of their satisfaction, leaving a gap in our understanding of customer complaint intention. To demonstrate an in-depth approach to this matter, authors revisit justice theory and suggest trust and perceived responsibility variables be combined into a research model. A cross-section survey was conducted to collect data from 265 mobile services users of the three biggest mobile service providers in Kien Giang Province, Vietnam. This study employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method to analyze the samples collected. The result showed that customer complaint intention is affected by distributive justice, interactional justice, trust but not procedural justice. Additionally, the moderating role of the perceived responsibility variable to the relationship between customer satisfaction and complaint intention is also proved.

  • 모바일 서비스 수용 영향요인의 강도는 서비스 유형별로 다를 수 있기 때문에 본 연구는 서비스 유형의 조절효과를 고려한 모바일 서비스 수용에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해서 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 유희적 서비스, 실용적인 서비스로 각각 성격이 다른 모바일게임과 모바일금융을 연구대상으로 선정 하였다. 169명 설문조사 데이터를 분석한 결과, 지각된 유용성, 지각된 용이성, 서비스 신뢰도가 모바일 서비스의 수용에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 모바일 금융의 경우, 지각된 유용성과 신뢰도가 더 서비스 수용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이들 결과를 토대로 마케팅 시사점을 제시하였다.

핀테크의 보안 고려사항에 대한 연구 (A Study on the FinTech : The consideration of the Security)

  • Recently, mobile devices have been widely used. Therefore, the service users want that are not constrained by time and space. Among them, electronic payment services, mobile finance service is enjoying a tremendous popularity. The FinTech is the result of the fusion of finance and ICT(Information & Communication Technology). Security experts is pointed the FinTech security risk. New technology and Innovative FinTech services are even available, Insecure FinTech services is insignificant. In this paper we were surveyed market and product trends of FinTech and analyzed the threats about FinTech. Also, we analyzed the security considerations for FinTech using a questionnaire. As a result, users considers secure payment process and privacy. Therefore, we proposed security considerations for each vulnerability. So, we must be resolved of security technology and policy issues. If establishing a secure payment process and the unclear legal issue is resolved, FinTech service will provide a secure financial services to the user.

Mobile Telecommunications Market Regulations and Carrier Performance: The Korean Case

  • This paper qualitatively and quantitatively examines the effectiveness of regulations currently in place in the Korean mobile telecommunications market by comparing their intended objectives with the actual outcome, particularly with respect to the performance of market participants. The results show that the regulations have generally been effective in lowering the average revenue per user of carriers. However, the managed competition efforts of the government have also resulted in increased revenues for the top two carriers in the market without significantly affecting their general business operations.

  • E-비즈니스의 발전으로 온라인 서비스가 증가하면서, 금융이나 게임업체 등에서 정적 패스워드에 대한 취약성을 보완하기 위해서 OTP(One-Time Password)를 사용하고 있다. 기존의 OTP는 전용토큰을 이용하는데, 토큰을 이용한 OTP 기술은 항상 전용토큰을 소지하여야 한다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기위해 스마트폰과 같은 모바일 기기를 이용한 모바일 OTP를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 모바일 OTP 기법은 범용적으로 사용되고 있는 해쉬함수를 이용한 S/KEY OTP 기법의 해쉬 충돌성에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위해 Pairing 기법을 이용한 비선형적 함수를 이용하여 OTP를 생성한다. 제안한 Pairing 기반의 비선형 함수를 이용한 모바일 OTP 기법은 기존의 해쉬충돌성을 보완할 수 있으며, 금융업체 및 다양한 서비스에서 보안안전성을 강화하기 위해 폭넓게 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 모바일 디바이스(mobile device)를 통한 전자금융거래가 급속하게 증가하면서 이를 대상으로 한 공격시도도 점차 늘어나고 있다. 다양한 보안수단들이 적용되고 있지만, 모바일뱅킹(mobile banking)에 사용되는 디바이스에 원격으로 침입을 한 뒤 공격하는 방법 및 디바이스를 물리적으로 획득하여 전자금융사고를 유발할 수 있는 위험이 여전히 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 디바이스에서의 전자금융사고 예방 대책으로 개인별 입력패턴을 분석하여 본인에 의한 전자금융거래 시도인지 유무를 판단하여 선제적으로 대응할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 화면 터치(touch)를 통해 입력하는 모바일 디바이스의 특성상 터치 시간이나 압력 등의 패턴(pattern)은 개인별로 차이가 있으므로 이를 모니터링(monitoring) 함으로써 정상적인 모바일뱅킹 고객과 공격자를 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제시된 방안의 효용성을 증명하기 위해 모바일 디바이스에서의 개인별 입력패턴 정보를 실제 수집하여 실험하였고, 실험결과 입력패턴 정보 분석을 통해 전자금융사고를 효과적으로 예방할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 이러한 입력패턴 정보의 모니터링을 이용하여 불법적인 전자금융거래에 실시간으로 대응하는 방안도 제안한다.

  • 최근 IT 기술의 발전과 스마트폰의 보급으로 금융(Finance)과 IT 기술(Technology)이 결합한 핀테크(Fintech)가 큰 이슈가 되고 있다. 새로운 모바일 금융 결제시스템이 국내 시장에 자리 잡기 위해서는 해당 시스템이 지속적으로 사용될 수 있는 방안을 모색해야 하지만, 이에 대한 연구는 아직 미비한 것이 현실이다. 특히, 모바일 금융 결제시스템 분야에서 신뢰는 매우 중요한 요인 중의 하나로 간주되고 있지만, 이에 대한 매우 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내의 모바일 금융 결제시스템의 지속적 사용에 영향을 미치는 신뢰 형성 요인에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

Effects of a Technological-Organizational-Environmental Factor on the Adoption of the Mobile Payment System

  • The mobile payment system has not only changed the payment pattern but also has improved the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individuals' quality of life by saving their energy, reducing the risk of taking cash, and enabling them to give more time to businesses and do international business. Besides, with the current advancement in the Internet as well as the digital transformation, SMEs are being forced to adopt mobile payment systems (MPS). The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of technological-organizational-environmental (TOE) determinants on the adoption of MPS and its impact on SMEs' firm performance operating in Ghana. This research employed a closed-ended questionnaire to collect data from January 2020 - April 2020. This study used a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach using SmartPLS 3.0 for path analysis of 145 responses. The findings of the study include the statistically significant effects of technological (relative advantage and compatibility), organizational (top management support and employees' readiness), and environmental (social influence and competitive pressure) factors on the adoption of MPS. Furthermore, this study also proved the positive and statistically significant effect of MPS on SMEs' performance. This study demonstrated that the TOE factor explains 70% variations in the adoption of MPS.

Consumption Value, Consumer Innovativeness and New Product Adoption: Empirical Evidence from Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to employ the theory of consumption value and consumers' innovative personality characteristics to explain the adoption of new personal electronics devices in Vietnamese market. This study adapts a quantitative survey-based approach to test hypotheses about relationship between consumption value, product specific innovativeness and new product adoption. The study uses a quantitative data set of 915 consumers who owned one mobile electronic device at least in Ho Chi Minh city, one of the biggest cities of Vietnam. The data was collected through personal interview and convenient sampling method. The conceptual model was tested using PLS structural equation model. The findings of this study suggest that both consumption value and product specific innovativeness influence the adoption of new electronic products. The results also reveal that product specific innovativeness mediates the relationship between consumption value and new product adoption. The study further identified that consumption value was taken as a second-order multidimensions construct with five components, namely functional value, epistemic value, economic value, social value and emotional value. As a result, the research suggests some implications to enhance marketers' capabilities to develop strategies for launching new hi-tech products in an emerging market as Vietnam.

The Adoption of Using Mobile Payment During COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study in Vietnam

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed a number of restrictions on the lives of people and services, forcing them to adopt a "New Normal" way of living. Contactless technologies provide a mechanism to reduce the risk of infection, encouraging people to use touchless payment methods. The aim of this study is to develop an integrated framework based on the Health Belief Model and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to justify the use of mobile payment during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam. Based on a survey of 434 samples, the proposed conceptual model was empirically justified using structural equation modeling (SEM). This study found that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, enjoyment, perceived severity, and perceived susceptibility significantly and positively influenced behavioral intention of using contactless payment technologies. In addition, this study discovered that effort expectancy, perceived severity, and perceived susceptibility all have a positive impact on performance expectancy, while enjoyment triggered users' effort expectancy. By adding novel insights into the literature on the acceptance of technology during the pandemic, this study makes a major contribution to justifying how contactless payment technologies can reduce the risk of getting infected by COVID-19.
