  • Barrage is an interactive method based on video, and the video itself is visualized from the viewer's point of view to play people's emotions, and it already has an advantage in communication by attracting people's attention using stories and plays. Advances in digital and mobile technology have enabled video viewing anytime, anywhere. Due to the nature of the barrage site that relies on the same video content or playback to participate in video sharing through computers or mobile clients, a barrage that can express users' feelings and thoughts will be added, breaking down the limit of content acceptance by a single user. Barrage satisfy users' entertainment needs, and their influence is growing. Gradually, they are heading to offline movie theaters and TV from barrage videos on the Internet. Attempts to function as offline ammunition facilitated technological innovation for media convergence by converging mobile media with PCs and screens. At the same time, the trend of media convergence shown by coal screens is also a trend of overall technological development. A barrage is an extension of human communication skills. The properties of the barrage fit well with the need for experiential marketing (via video). It can provide a visual experience and create an atmosphere of "surrounding and watching" and eliminate loneliness. Barrage itself provides a function to comment on videos, which is a trigger point for the reason, and donation adds to the amount of information in the video, adding to the fun of the video. Through the barrage, sarcastic, teasing, and expressing emotions can bring entertainment experiences, and users can produce and communicate their shooting text while consuming the satisfaction brought by the shooting. At the same time, Barrage attaches great importance to the needs of the masses, is more individual and diversified, and has commercial significance in line with the current development trend of the Internet. As a new interactive method, barrage contains huge potential value. However, the impact of the interactive way of barrage should also be viewed from a dialectical point of view, how to solve the difficulties in the development of barrage. The way to solve the difficulties in the development of barrage is worth studying. This research will analyze the reasons for the development of barrage and the analysis of Chinese barrage websites, the case analysis of barrage videos, the exploration of the characteristics and values of barrage, and the problems in the process of barrage communication. • This exploratory study investigated Chinese consumers' perceived usefulness and risks of fashion apps and identified reasons for continuance and discontinuance intentions. This study conducted focus group interviews with a convenience sample of 13 Chinese students majoring in fashion in Korea. Based on interviewee responses, this study identified five attributes leading the perceived usefulness of mobile fashion apps (ubiquity and convenience, multi-media information, personalization, interactivity between consumers, and immediateness) and sub elements related to the five attributes. Five types of perceived risk (privacy risk, security risk, product risk, loss of future opportunity, and time risk) were identified in relation to Chinese consumers' use of fashion apps. The important role of live streaming services was uniquely identified by Chinese fashion app users. Usefulness of location-based information provided by mobile fashion apps were differently perceived according to respondents' use purpose, and augmented reality services provided by the apps were related to entertainment rather than usefulness. This study provides meaningful insights into Chinese consumers' perceptions of fashion apps and important app attributes that influence their continuance and discontinuance intentions. The findings from this study lend preliminary implications for future researchers and fashion businesses interested in the Chinese app market.

  • There have been lots of interest on service and entertainment robots. To ensure that robots work in harmony with humans, their stability and compactness are some of the key issues. Obviously, robots with fewer wheels occupy a smaller floor area compared to those with more wheels. In addition, robots with fewer wheels, whose posture stabilities are maintained by feedback control, are stable even under larger accelerations and/or higher locations of the center of mass. To facilitate controller design, it is assumed that both pitch and roll dynamics are decoupled. The dynamic equations of motion for the proposed robot are derived from the Euler-Lagrange equation. To obtain the optimal balancing control law, linear quadratic regulator control methods are applied to the linearized dynamic equations. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness and performance of the proposed balancing control algorithm for a single-wheeled mobile robot.

  • Mobile games have emerged as the most innovative entertainment technology adding new revenue streams, taking advantage of the potential of wireless consumer applications and service offerings. Mobile games, like any other types of computer game, offer a unique value for users in providing an exciting digital experience in virtual worlds. Players can become empowered through the development of new characters and strategies within games to achieve rewarding successes against the computers and other players. In this paper, we attempt to investigate the factors influencing the usage and acceptance of the mobile games in Korea, based on the extended version of the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). Based on data collected from survey, we show that perceived usefulness is the major determinant for users to play mobile games. Two factors, including perceived enjoyment and self-expressiveness, are empirically shown to determine perceived usefulness. In addition, perceived ease of use, rewards, operational quality of device, and design/story have been showed to significantly and directly affect perceived enjoyment. It was also confirmed that self-efficacy and operational quality of device are the antecedents of perceived ease of use. Based upon the statistical results, some useful guidelines for game development and market penetration strategies are also provided.

  • Recently with the rapid evolution of the mobile computing and communication technologies, mobile VOD service becomes increasingly important for wireless mobile users. The VOD service is being widely used in various areas of application, such as education, entertainment and business, because it provides users convenience in easily having access to video information at any time in any places. However, in reality, the mobile system has many difficulties in providing the smooth VOD service owing to frequent transfers and cutoffs of clients. The importance of a technique to transmit broadcasting is being stressed as a method for providing stabler mobile VOD service to a large number of clients. This paper is aimed at showing how to reduce demands for server bandwidth and delay of earlier service through performance analysis by suggesting an effective VOD broadcasting transmission technique through channel division in the mobile atmosphere. Many researches have been made about regular broadcasting techniques in particular. This study divides the methods used for assigning channels which have been decided by the size of segments into a group of regular channels and assistant channels using wireless gap-fillers to provide effective VOD services to a large number of clients at the mobile environment using small bandwidth resources. The regular channels transfer regular streams, while assistant channels repeatedly transfer the first segment to reduce early service delay time to receive regular streams. In this way, the study suggests a technique to reduce server bandwidth demand and early service delay time. Through the proposed technique, the server bandwidth demand could be reduced by more than 30 percent and the study continuously shows reduced early service delay time through conducting performance analysis.
