Linearized Mixer Using Predistortion Technique (Predistortion Circuit을 이용한 Mixer의 선형화에 관한 연구)

  • To reduce third-order intermodulation distortion(IMD3) generated in the down-conversion process of the mixer, predistortion technique was proposed and its performance was verified fDr Cellular band circuit. This method is based on the fact that down converted IMD3 of a down conversion mixer could be canceled by that of predistortor with a fine tuned vector modulator. Two tone test has been performed at 836 Mhz with 442 KHz separation. The results showed that IM3 level was improved about 16dB and PldB of the mixer was increased 3dB. from the above results, the suggested technique is useful to design the down converters for communication system .

  • In this paper a plannar singly balanced diode Miter for 24GHz band application is designed and implemented using a microstrip line and two schottky barrier beam lead mixer diodes. The implemented mixer have a conversion loss of 6 [dB], LO/RF isolation of 23 [dB], input 1dB compression point of 4 [dBm]. this diode mixer would be useful for homedyne radar.

  • 본 논문에서는 TSMC 0.18um공정을 이용한 무선통신 수신기용 직접변환 방식의 Double Balanced Mixer를 설계 하였다. 제안된 mixer는 current bleeding기법과 내부에 인덕터를 추가하여 기존의 Gilbert Cell구조의 mixer에 비해 변환 이득과 Flicker Noise특성을 향상 시켰다. 모의실험결과 2.45GHz에서 11dB의 변환이득을 나타내었으며 Flicker Noise의 corner frequency는 510kHz이고 이때 잡음특성은 10.8dB이다. 이 회로의 동작전압은 1.8V이며 소모 전력은 8.8mW이다.

  • A mixer with a new concept design has been adapted into water treatment plants. It reportedly cuts down the energy consumption of the mixer by the new mixer, which moves vertically and creates internal flows toward its bottom. However, no experimental observations have been made on the internal flow caused by a vertical impeller. In this study, a radiotracer experiment, radioactive particle tracking (RPT) technique, and particle image velocimetry (PIV) were carried out to visualize the flow in the mixer, and compared to each other. The results show that the flow patterns from these techniques are very similar to each other, and the performance of the mixer was good enough to mix the inner materials.

  • Tilt rotor aircraft is a multi-configuration airplane which has three independent flight modes; helicopter, conversion, and aiplane. The control surface mixer resign is reqctired to generate and distribute efficient control forces and moments in each flight mode. In the conversion mode, the thrust vector is changed from helicopter mode to airplane, therefore the thrust vector makes undesired forces and moments which affect on pitch, roll and yaw dynamics. This paper describes the design results of control surface mixer design which minimize the undesired forces and moments due to nacelles tilting angle change for 4O% scaled model.

  • In the present study a mesh generation program is developed for the flow analysis of industrial mixers. With this program one can select various design parameters such as impeller types, vessel type, number of baffles, number of blades, blade pitched angle, stages of impeller, rotational speed etc. Post processing capabilities are also imbedded in the program. Along with brief explanation of the program, examples of flow simulation for various type of mixers by using the program are also presented to show effectiveness of the program. It is expected that this program can be used to understand the effect of design parameters on the performance of particular type of the mixer, and hence to achieve the optimal design.

  • In this paper, we presented an active RFID system in 2.45GHz range including LNA, Mixer and gain block. And in this work, a link budget model for RFID applications are proposed. We describe the detailed design and implementation of our system. Our components in RFID system has features such as low Noise Figure, reliable energy budget, and standard compliance with ISO 18000-4. Our receiver is effective for development and evaluation of prototype applications because of the flexibility of the design hardware. So, our platform will be suitable for versatile item management applications.

  • In this paper, we have developed a frequency mixer for the microwave phase conjugator. The circuit topology is the gate mixer using a pseudomorphic HEMT device. The operating frequencies are 4.0 GHz 2.01 GHz, and 1.99 GHz for LO, RF, and IF, respectively. Conversion gain is measured to be 12 dB and 1 dB compression point -34 dBm at the LO power of -4 dBm.

  • Ka-Band MMIC Mixer 칩 을 InGaAs/GaAs p-HEMT 공정의 Schottky Diode을 이용하여 개발하였다 설계된 칩은 상/하향 주파수 변환기로 사용할 수 있으며 Double Balance 구조로 되어있다. 크기 3.0$\times$2.4 $\textrm{mm}^2$ 칩의 On-wafer측정 결과, RF주파수 24~27 GHz와 LO주파수 16.28 GHz, IF 주파수 7.72~10.72GHz 상/하향에 대해서, 변환손실 <7dB와 Port별 격리도 >20dBc의 특성을 얻었다.

  • In this paper, it is designed for 5.8GHz Wireless LAN sub harmonic resistive mixer. Sub harmonic resistive mixer is constituted by advantage of sub harmonic mixer and resistive mixer. Sub harmonic resistive mixers mix harmonics of LO with RF and obtain IF frequency. Therefore, it was possible to use decreasing LO frequency than conventional mixers. And, Sub harmonic resistive mixer has low IMD because of using unbiased channel resistance of GaAs FET. When LO power is 13dBm, the conversion loss of manufactured sub harmonic resistive mixer is 10.67 dB. And IIP3 of mixer is 21.5dBm.
